Chapter 1: Last Day of Prepping for Camp NaNo-March 31st

Chapter Text

1:21 pm

Okay, I'm writing on the first page of the journal entry. To tell you this, I'm excited for Camp NaNoWriMo tomorrow, which me, Poppy, and Smidge are going to go camping too. Oh, to mention that it will be my third time participating. When I first participated during this event, I wrote a mystery novella, which is still at the works and it's going well. I hope to work on editing the 2nd draft soon after Camp. To talk about this, I should write about what I'll be working on for Camp this year, right? Hehe. I'll be working on a new writing project. Here's what my story's about:

Summary

This is a young adult, survival, romance novelette story about a lonely elf named Basil who lives in a bunker all his life, and who has never seen the outside world before. This changes when he hears a bang on his door and finds a girl named Skye who is another elf, who he falls in love with her. She warns him about the volcano erupting and that they will die if they don't leave it. So, Basil must take the courage to leave the bunker and survive through this deadly volcano which it can erupt by any minute.

Word Count Goal: 14k words

So, that's all from me, and I can't wait to give out more updates soon as by tomorrow. Also, the minimum goal is to keep these entries as simple and short as possible, just a heads up to you, Poppy and Smidge. See ya!

2:36 pm

Hi, hi! I'm super excited to attend Camp NaNoWriMo for the third time. You can say my last two experiences of it was a blast...YES! I REALLY ENJOYED DOING IT. And speaking of Camp, we'll be going camping tomorrow for three days, which sounds like fun! I've prepared the snacks, stories and my laptop. What else is cool is that Wi-Fi is literally everywhere in our area...except I still have no idea what the password is it in order to access that type of Wi-Fi. (NOTE: Ask Branch immediately!!) Oh, here's what I'll be doing for Camp NaNo, since I'll be doing a write-a-novelette-story challenge like Branch.

Summary

This is a fairytale retelling story of Rapunzel where a Troll named Petunia is tired of being told what to do by her manipulative, overprotective mother and being alone in her bedroom with no friends, or having someone who she can relate too, and one day, she discovers a dating website, which she thinks will be a way of her not to be alone.

Word Count Goal: 12k words

It sounds simple, but it's worth writing this summary (which it took me almost an hour today to write it). Giving out updates for this story and my Camp NaNo experience sound fun too and I can't wait to hear it from you guys. Hope to write tomorrow. :D

Yeah, it's a bit late since I've got myself doing this journal. I have never done this before, which is pretty neat of trying. So...I've got myself into doing Camp NaNo since last year during July. I wanted to try it, but didn't have time to do it, so doing it for April this year sounded like a great opportunity. So, what I'll be doing for Camp NaNo is writing a novelette too.

I couldn't figure out how to put these two short stories into summaries, like long ones, so I hope these short, and snappy one-sentence summaries will do.

Project Tough Life: An adventure about a girl who has to escape from a rogue leopard.

Word Count Goal: 14k words

Okay, that's all for me, and maybe I'll have more to say when Camp NaNo is an official tomorrow. I mean, for this introduction to be short, I like it. Thanks Poppy and Branch for introducing me to this event and be able to do it with you guys.
