   Summary

   Damian wonders what his mother would think if she could see him right now.

   Damian had let Nika tie him up until he could hardly move. She left one of the knots too close to his hands, and he could get out by undoing it, but Damian knew she hadn’t meant to, that she’d meant for him to be trapped. So, he didn’t untie himself and he didn’t tell her how he could get out. Instead, he let her believe that she had him under her thumb. It probably showed that Nika had a whole set of issues that she couldn’t handle him being an active participant.

   Unfortunately, Damian also had issues, because he didn’t think he could handle himself being an active participant either. It was easier when Nika just did it for him, took the choice away. But it made his chest twist up ugly. He shouldn’t want Nika to just make the choice for him. That wasn’t right.

   And so he wonders if his mother would be disappointed in him.
