Chapter Text
The sound of wind brushing lightly against the delicate leaves of the trees, the water assisting a faint melody of chirping birds were all that could be heard. It was all that needed to be heard, for him at least. The oh-so-great Warrior, The Six Eared Macaque was taking a nap after a long day of giving shadowplay shows to his little monkey friends up on the mountain with him.
The now long-retired Warrior was a very silent sleeper, his presence would barely even be noticable if he wasn't wearing such eye-catching clothing. His split colored clothing, gold bracelets and of course most importantly... His long, crimson and elegant but torn apart scarf. He was of course not alone, no not anymore, he had his fellow monkeys to accompany him in his time of ease and comfort, about 5 to 7 of them. They lied next to eachother, fit like puzzle pieces, like a giant ball of fluffy cuteness!
While the hammock made out of string and leaves did not seem comfortable from the outside, it was obvious to anyone that the monkeys felt safe and sound if it meant they were next to their old friend, who had protected them ever since the absence of their King... The King that had left them long ago, the one they had not seen standing next to their friend, The Warrior since ages.
Flashback
When Macaque had first came back to the Flower Fruit Mountain, not too long ago, the monkeys were happy! Joyful to see their protector and fellow back safe and sound! Only to see that there was no hero to accompany him. Visibly confused the monkeys jumped around in curiosity, looking for their King. Macaque was very social and kind when it came to taking care of and understanding his friends, he immediately understood the situation and gave a sigh of pity and sorrow while crouching to speak to one of the monkeys.
*sigh* "Hey there buddy! You all look like you missed me quite a lot, huh? It's been a while..!"
But his efforts were of no use, even his best of acting couldn't cover the cracks in his voice and that awful sadness in his face. Especially not the tears starting to fall down from his golden eyes. He started to sob and crashed onto the dirt soon after. The monkeys seeing Macaque in such a state came to his aid and cuddled with him, some brought food, some started to pat him on his head, this helped to calm Macaque down. He took a banana from one of the monkeys, he lightly smiled whilst wiping the tears away from his face.
"Haha! Ha... Thanks. A lot."
He slowly peeled the banana's skin and took a bite from it, the other monkey's were happy to see their friend not sad and eating again so they started crowding him and eating bananas as celebration. They prefered not to make loud noises, they were aware of Macaque's very sensitive hearing and how he found discomfort in loud/sudden noises. Well, that's how everything really was in the Flower Fruit Mountain. Eating, playing, sleeping, eating, taking naps, eating... And the monkeys were not at all complaining about a lifestyle like it, afterall they sure did love being comfortable and making sure their friends were comfortable with them! Happiness was something that could be found everywhere in the Flower Fruit Mountain.
Flashback End
In Pigsy's Noodle Shop everything was the same as before. Tang was sat in his seat eating his 2nd bowl of noodles while reading a book on Ancient Scrolls, Pigsy was finishing up a new order. Mei was out looking for new outfits to buy with Red Son. As for our Monkie Kid, MK, he was not out with Sun Wukong, AKA The Monkey King today.
Wukong had told MK to stay at the Noodle Shop for a while as he wanted some private time by himself. MK was hesitant and wanted to ask if something was wrong to Wukong but thought to himself... "I guess it WOULD be nice if Monkey King and I took a little break especially after the recent events." He decided to just not question it and let Sun Wukong go.
Wukong started to make his way over to the Flower Fruit Mountain using his cloud, the cloud was very precious to him as he had gone to many places with it and it was his most reliable way of transportation (Plus it looked totally cool!). He was flying a bit slower than usual, he wanted to try and pace things a bit slower so he wouldn't constantly have a rush of energy.
Unfortunately this plan would backfire on him when a flock of birds fastly made their way to the Monkey King's cloud, crashing into him and sending him off balance. This resulted in Wukong falling off of his cloud onto a bunch of trees and bushes, he was lucky enough to land on the Flower Fruit Mountain and not the pavement on the way here...
"OWWWW..!" Wukong groaned out of frustration and slight pain.
"THOSE DARNED BIRDS!! COME CHALLENGE ME IN A REAL FIGHT, YOU FEATHERED RATS!"
"Ughhh.." Monkey King exclaimed with an annoyed but funny expression on his face. He decided he would just walk up since there wasn't that much distance left to where he wanted to go anyways. He slowly started to make his way up the path on the mountain, he was going to one of his favorite places on the entire mountain... His hammock! His favorite sleeping spot was of course his beloved hammock. He had spent his time eating, sleeping, napping, playing and swinging on that hammock for a looong time! So of course he would want to go there.
Macaque suddenly opened his eyes, the monkeys had gone somewhere else and he was left alone. He heard a rustling noise coming from the bushes nearby... He stared, feeling danger... a familiar face showed his face, coming out of the nicely lit bushes.
"Phew! That was SO MUCH WALKING! I'm never doing that aga-''
A moment of pure silence...no words spoken, just the wind.
There they were, The Hero and The Warrior.
