“…And how long will it take to fix the GroundBridge?” Bulk asked through the comlink.
“Agent Fowler has just arranged for the supply of replacement parts but they will arrive only in two days.” Ratchet replied.
“Two days?! But I remember we had a full storage, I helped move things there.”
“Oh yes, we did. But some big bot keeps smashing things around instead of watching where he steps. And I have to repair it all after!”
“Oops.”
“You have no idea how lucky you are…” it was a sarcasm. “because the broken GroundBridge is the only thing that stops me right now from turning you into a scrap! What if it was an emergency?! I swear, I—“
Bulkhead turned comlink off.
“So?” Miko jumped off the rock she was sitting on.
“We’ve got a problem. Ratchet can’t take us back, the GroundBridge is down. And repair will take—”
“Two days. You shouted it out loud.”
“Yeah, sorry but we kinda stuck here.”
“It’s not your fault, Bulk! Vehicons have shot right into the GroundBridge and damaged it. You made them really regret it! Be more positive, now we have not just one but two days off while Ratchet is busy with repairing! We can do anything we want to!”
“But you need to get back home, your forsters are gonna worry. And school…”
“Urrrghhh, I’ll only miss Friday, Saturday is a weekend, so it’s not a big deal. And fosters? I’m texting them that I’m going on sleepover with Jack and Raf to prepare our common school project for tomorrow. Sent!”
“Hah, since when you’re so interested in doing school projects? Even I can’t buy it, Miko.”
“Still more believable than saying I’m stuck with an alien on the other side of States.”
“Fair enough. Now we need a plan to know what to do.”
Miko stood in a thinking pose, making Hmmmm sound.
“How about a road trip? You’ve got the wheels, Bulk, and navigation! Staying here won’t get us anywhere.”
“We can even just drive back home. From here it will take maybe a 3 days. What’d you say?”
“Why are we still here? Let’s go!”
