The performance went perfect. Everything just felt perfect. The spotlight, the applause, the smiles on his audience, Star Light felt like he was floating on air – literally. He couldn't help but give out one of his signature smiles to the crowd, feeling like the brightest star in a midnight sky. Of course, this smile wasn't just for the audience, more so for a particular mechanic that stood, watching the show from afar.
Star Light looked over to the mechanic, his eyes seemingly covered with stars. From afar, Wiatt saw the star animatronic look over to him, and couldn't help but smirk and blush. He loved the small little gestures Star Light gave him during and after performances. It made him feel special and warm, but sometimes he couldn't tell when some gestures were directed towards him or the audience. Maybe both.
After the audience left, Wiatt stayed behind, noticing he only had 20 minutes of his break left. He reckoned maybe he could clean up a little bit, so he did. He removed any left over trash from tables and other places, and set lost items into one pile for the lost and found box. Wiatt was heavily focused on his duty until he heard a peculiar voice call to him.
"Starlight-" Star Light seemingly just came down from the ceiling, his support beam giving small, mechanical whirs. He was expecting Wiatt to finish the last part of the phrase, a new tradition the two had gained from being together for most of the time.
Wiatt jumped at Star Light's voice, but immediately settled down, turning to face the floating animatronic, crossing his arms. "Starbright." Wiatt finished with a smile, delighted to see that his lover was doing well.
"How have you been, darling?" Star Light moved closer to Wiatt, cupping the shorter man's face into his hands, "I haven't seen you in a long while."
"I've been doing good, thanks." Wiatt held one of the animatronic's hands with his own, "I've just been really busy with my duties and stuff like that, you?"
"Oh, why I've been doing the same, shamefully…" Star Light seemed to blush a bit in embarrassment, removing his open hand from Wiatt's face, "It's just been so much from the traction this place has gotten in the past few days, I just haven't made time to come see you, and I-I'm dreadfully sorry!"
Wiatt giggled, looking up at Star Light with a warm stare, "It's okay, I promise," He still held the animatronic's hand gently, pulling the hand away from his face slowly, "I haven't had time to make time for you either, but now since we're here, we can?"
"Well, it depends on how much time you have left, darling," Star Light said in a concerned tone, raising an eyebrow, "I don't wanna keep you away for long, and plus, I don't want them getting angry at you for being late."
"Well, I have 18 minutes left until my break is over," Wiatt checked his watch to make sure the time was accurate, "I think we got some time to kill."
Star Light beamed again. Wiatt sweats he could see a sparkle glimmer whenever the other smiled. It was charming, but also kind of funny. "Oh, that's wonderful, darling!" Star Light enthusiastically sprouted out, almost like a beautiful song, "What shall we do to pass the time? We can walk around, talk about things, or we can stay here and talk."
Wiatt thought for a moment, pondering the choices to heart. Then, he smiled, and held Star Light's other hand with his own. "I think, since we haven't had time to ourselves in a while, how about we just stay here and talk?"
Star Light nodded, "Alright then, come along then!"
The animatronic lead Wiatt over to the stage, sitting down on it, Wiatt following in his steps.
Then, the two started talking. They talked about what was going on during the time, talked about the others, gossiped a teeny bit, and had their heartfelt and deep conversations at the end. Everything seemed to go by in seconds, and just like that, Wiatt looked at his watch, panicking a little bit at the time. "Shit, shit!" He clamored, rushing off the stage to get his bag and belongings.
"What's the matter, darling?" Star Light cocked his head to the side, putting a finger on his cheek, "Is it time for you to leave?"
Wiatt nodded frantically, "Yeah, and I'm finna be late!"
"Oh, well," Star Light thought quickly, "Come back soon! Remember I'm always here if you ever wanted to hang out with me! Stay safe!"
"Yeah, yeah, same goes for you, too!" Once Wiatt was done stashing his things into his bag, he rushed over to the animatronic, gently kissed his cheek, and rushed out of there with a wave, calling out his goodbyes quickly.
Star Light couldn't help but stare and blush, putting a hand on his cheek, a smile creeping onto his face. That gentle peck meant more to the star animatronic than anything in the entire universe. Soon enough, just as expected, his blue mask clicked on, showing how much love and affection he felt because of that one kiss. At that moment in time, he felt like the brightest star in the entire galaxy. Everything just felt perfect.
