Chapter Text

Hey everyone! I got an editor now! Their name is Gabriel. They will be helping me with my stories from now on! Thanks! On with the story!

"Do you really have to go?" Wind whined as Wild packed his things.

"Yes I do. And the portal will just drag me through if I don't go bud," Wild said as he stood up.

"But why can't we come with you?" Asked Hyrule as the others came over to Wild.

"I don't know. I mean you guys tried to go through right?" Asked Wild as they all walked up to the purple portal.

"Me and Legend tried." Twilight said as he put a hand on his apprentice's shoulder.

Wild sighed as he looked at the others. He had been with them for over a year now and now they were going to be split up? Damn gods.

Wild looked back at the group of 8 that was originally 9 and held out his arms. He wasn't going away without a hug from his brothers if he had a say about it. They all smiled softly and came into a group hug, stayed there for a bit, and let go before Wild got pulled through. Wild then turned around and walked through the portal.

"Does this mean that we're all going to be sent home?" Asked Sky,

"No idea," Said Time as they all walked back to the campfire with the portal closing behind them.

~~~~~~
-about 6 months later-
When the portal opened back up the others were surprised. The portal hadn't been there for about half a year and the others had already settled down a little in Time's domain. It wasn't really a surprise to them for it showing up though. It always came at the weirdest or wrong times.
When they had noticed the portal earlier that day they weren't expecting it. They were helping with farm work when they all heard the scream of a monster. Immediately they all went into action. Grabbing the closest thing they could use as weapons and ran to the sounds.
They were expecting to find a Bokoblin but instead they found the portal. And that's how they found themselves there all dressed in their gear and ready to step through a portal.
Once Time said goodbye to Mallon they were on their way. They were all quite sad because Wild wasn't there, they would be going to a completely different place and it was just too quiet without his quippy remarks to keep them going.
But they were surprised when they found themselves in Wild's domain?...
They looked in wonder as they saw islands floating in the sky and the castle flying. Sky was immediately thrown off by this. It looked like his world and Wild's world mixed together. And he wasn't liking it much.
"Hey look! It's Wild's horse!" Screamed Wind as he ran up to the horse and walked it over to them by the lead.
"What's she doing right here though. Wouldn't Wild be with her?" Asked Warriors as he patted the horse's nose.
Just as those words were said they could hear whistling. Not like someone whistling but something falling or being thrown. They could hear it get louder until they heard something open. It sounded like Wild's paraglider.
They all looked up to see Wild hit the ground a few feet away from then facing in the opposite direction. Then they heard the loud whistle call that they missed so much. The horse went crazy to be freed, Wild turned around at the sound. He was in his hood and had a curtain shirt and a skirt on with sandals.
He ran over and took out a rusted sword, getting ready to attack them. The others immediately got their weapons out and stood there defensively. Wild ran fast and turned his sword around, then slammed it right into Warriors's side.
Warriors gasped as he stepped back and grabbed his side. The others stood in shock. Wild had just attacked them.
"Wild! It's us!" Screamed Twilight as they all dodged Wilds attacks. Wild seemed unfazed and didn't answer.
Once they got away from the horse Wild stopped attacking and ran to it. He stopped in front of it and checked it for injuries then petted it on the nose. He takes a deep breath then turns to the others.
The others froze. Wild had his hoodie up. They had helped him get out of that habit a long time ago. But now that it was back they all knew something was wrong. Something had happened. Something big.
"Wild what's going o-" Twilight started but was stopped by a hand in the air by Wild. Stopping them from talking anymore.
Wild motioned for them to follow him, turned, and then started to lead the horse down the path as he walked. The others looked at each other with a worried expression but followed him anyway.
~~~~~~

They followed Wild until they made it to a small camp in front of the castle. It was new, nice and spacious. They watched as Wild brought his horse to a small stable and then walked over to a hole in the ground. He waved at the guard standing there and got a nod in response.

He pointed down at the hole and jumped in. The others walked over to the hole and looked down. It wasn't that far down into the ground as they could see a maybe 10 foot drop.

Legend looked over to Time as if to ask if they should jump in and that he didn't trust this but Time nodded and walked over to the ladder, then started climbing down. The others followed him down the hole.

When they got down there they noticed it was a safety bunker. It had beds, a cooking station, maps, a prayer statue, and more. The others immediately looked around and started asking people questions as Time and Twilight stayed in the middle watching Wild.

Wild walked over to the prayer statue and started to pray. They watched light flood over the statue and Wild. Then they watched Wild stand up and hold out his arms. They watched as a heart laced with metal appeared and floated down to Wild.

It floated in his hands for a few before it broke apart and started turning into a gold dust. The dust then flowed up his arm and into them. Then darkness and an icky pinkish purple substance was pulled out of Wild's body. He didn't seem to hurt because of it but it was definitely not normal for him.

It made Time and Twilight stared in shock. They were used to magic of course. But that magic was deadly. And it was in Wild's body?! They immediately wanted to go grab Wild and make him sit until he was better but Wild didn't seem to mind one bit.

Twilight whimpered a bit at that. He wanted to hold his cub, his student, his brother. But Wild seemed to not want anything to do with any of them. They watched Wild carefully as he walked over to the cooking pot and talked to the person next to it.

Wild nodded his head to something and pulled his arm out from under the cloak. He held it up and it started to glow. Then out of nowhere apples filled his arms and he handed them to the man. The man then got cooking but they didn't care about that.

Hyrule and Sky came over in a rush to Time and Twilight freaking out. They looked worried, scared, even like they were about to cry.

"What's wrong?" Asked Time as the other too ran to them.

"D-did you see Wild's arm?!" Asked Sky in a frantic shout. The other two looked at the boys.

"Um yes? I mean it was weird that the apples appeared out of nowhere but-" Twilight was Interrupted.

"He had a completely different arm!!" Hyrule shouted.

He could hear someone's breath hitch. They turned to see Wild standing there before Wild turned and climbed up the ladder and ran somewhere. The others shouted his name but he didn't listen.

As some of them came up to stop him he grabbed his tablet and teleported away. The others looked as he turned blue and lifted into the air. And like that he was gone.

"His arm was gone. Maybe that's why he doesn't want to talk again?" Asked Wind as Time was having some very choice words with Hyrule.

"That could be." Said Sky as they walked back to the safe room. They jumped in and thought about what to do next. They hoped Wild would be back soon.

~~~~~~
Twilight stood watch with Time in the safety bunker, the others asleep. Twilight was staring into the fire as Time read a book. They sat in silence and eachothers company.
"You know. When I first saw you guys I thought you guys were fake. But then I hit you with the handle of my sword and I could feel the power of the triforce."
Time and Twilight jumped, grabbing their swords and pointing them at the dark corner. But they put them down when they saw Wild come out from the shadows.
"Wild." Twilight said softly as he put his sword away.
"Twilight, Time." Wild came and sat down near the food pot fire on an old stool.
"Why did you attack us?" Asked Time as he also put his sword away and sat down with Twilight.
"Nowadays you can't be too careful. Horse stealers are everywhere now. And I thought you guys were fake." He said as he lifted his arm again.
The others stared at the arm. It was green and had sharp claws. It had tattoos and what looked like rocks all over it. It also had a small ball in the middle of the hand. If you looked closely enough you could see the way it looks like rocks on the side of his shoulder and chest.
Wild grabbed some food out of his hand? And started to cook something in the cooking pot. They had to admit Mallon's food was good but Wild's was better. God how they missed his cooking.
"Can you tell us what happened?" Asked Twilight as he watched Wild cook. They could see Wild freeze before he mixed the food again.
"It happened so fast." He said softly as to not wake the others. The two men listened carefully to their technically older brother.
"When I got back I went to talk with Zelda in the castle and gave back the first tablet. Then we got ready to search the rest of the castle for any monsters."
He took a moment to think.
"We found tunnels under the castle and Zelda being Zelda she made me go check it with her. We found old hieroglyphics talking about the old wars and more."
He pulled out his new tablet and handed it to them to see the old glyphics.
"We walked into a hallway type cave that went deep underground. As we reached the opening there was this big sharp glowing rock that had green floating around it. When me and Zelda reached the bottom of the cave there was this… person… or mummy?"
He looked into the food as he thought. The others looked back at him.
"I believe it was Gannon."
The other two looked ill. Gannon? The one that Wild already faced too much- for in a lifetime?
"He had an arm on his chest and it was glowing. And um…. It was this one."
He held up his hand for them to see and then put it back down.
"I took a step forward and the mummy's face moved to look at us. Then its eyes started to glow red. And it said mine and Zelda's name."
He said it in a sickening tune. The others looked more surprised now.
"Then it happened so fast but… it shot something at Zelda and I blocked it with the master sword…"
He stopped for a second to get the food out on plates and handed them out.
"The master sword broke on impact…"
He heard a gasp but continued.
"And the blackness covered the sword and… up my arm….."
He could feel himself shaking and felt wetness hit his hands. Or well hand.
"I felt my power and strength get ripped away from me and then the castle started to rise. Zelda lost her balance and fell off the cliff and I tried to grab her but….. I missed her and…. And…."
He was crying at this point. Not sobs but enough that he could show the pain.
"I woke up on an island ways away from Hyrule. In fact I was thousands of feet in the air. And.. my hand and arm were replaced with this… hand.. "
He lifted up the arm again and snarled slightly. The others stayed silent.
"I found out from the first king of Hyrule that if he and Zelda didn't replace my arm I would be dead."
"Wait so Zelda is alive?" Asked Time as Wild brought his hand down again.
"Yes from what I know of. She isn't in this time though. She's in another time with the master sword. The master sword was horribly damaged and was no longer usable. It should possibly be getting fixed."
Wild put his bowl down and pulled his hoodie down too. His hair was longer and his eyes were more dull, more sharp, more tired. He had tear marks down his cheeks.
He turned to face Time and Twilight. And he started to cry again, this time sobbing. He launched himself into Twilight's arm and held him so tight that Twilight's back should be broken. Twilight hugged back silently, holding onto his student.
They sat there silently as Wild cried. And if the others were awake the whole time no one said anything.
Triggers; tired and sad characters, talking about traumatic events, phantom pains, touch starved Wild, please just have caution I don't know if I missed any triggers.) Also this has Wild/Sidon because it makes me angry that they are not together in this new game. Also it may look like he has an eating disorder. He does not have one.
When Wild woke up he quickly realized he wasn't sleeping alone. He had arms wrapped around him and his head on someone's chest. He immediately went rigid and had the urge to push the arms off of him.
His skin burned at every touch he felt. He knew he was touch starved in the past but it was worse now. He craved the touch of his brother's cuddles, hugs, and even playful punches. But he hasn't had them in so long that it felt foreign.
He shivered when he felt a hand in his hair. It made his skin burn by the touch but it didn't feel bad. He sighed when the hand started to scratch his scalp. His body melted under the hand and he closed his eyes. He heard a chuckle near his head.
"Always knew how to calm my little brother down." He heard Twilight say. Wild smiled softly.
"Older brother." He said as he yawned.
"I'm sorry?" Twilight asked with a smug tone.
"I am technically the older brother…. I'm even older than time.." He said tiredly.
"I'm still older than all of you." He heard Sky say.
"So we should call both of you old man too?" Asked Legend with a teasing tone.
There was a hitting noise and Legend grunted then started to shout more as Sky. It was loud but had no heat behind it. They just sounded like brothers bickering with each other.
"Guys guys. Let Wild sleep. He needs it. Look at him. He looks like he's back to his old sleeping habits." Time could be heard from across the room.
"That's cause I have." Said Wild as he snuggled further into Twilight. The others went silent.
"Wild. It's not good to sleep only once every two weeks. We even proved that to you in the past." Said Hyrule as he walked over and crouched near Wild's head.
He put his hand to Wild's forehead and Wild shrunk away. It burned and he didn't want it.
"Come on Wi. I need to make sure you aren't sick."
Wild groaned in disapproval and tried to turn his head away more but was stopped by Twilight. Twilight put his hand where his head met his neck and held firmly but not enough to hurt him.
"I'm sorry cub but we need to make sure you don't get sick. We still have a quest to help with." Twilight said as Wild frowned.
Wild froze as he felt Hyrule's hand on his forehead. He saw a faint pink glow from behind his eyelids. He felt a shiver rack his body and snuggled into Twilight further. He heard a small purring sound from Twilight and felt Hyrule take his hand back.
"He's fine, just tired and dehydrated. We should give him some food and water, then just let him sleep." Said Hyrule as he stood up and walked somewhere.
Wild felt his muscles loosen as Twilight went back to scratching his scalp. He heard Wind coo as Time chuckled.
"It's like a switch." Said Time.
"He's like a puppy!" Said Wind.
He heard someone or some people come up to him and stop moving. He felt Twilight start to move into sitting up, dragging him with him. He didn't like that. He wanted to lay back down. He just wanted to sleep.
"Come on Wild. Just some food and water, then you can go back to sleep." He hears Twilight say as he laid against his chest.
"...mmmnoooo…." He said as he snuggled more into his soft, warm pillow.
"I know I know." Was all that was said as a blanket was wrapped around his shoulders.
"You need to eat Wild. Even if it's a little bit." Said Warriors. Wild felt a pang of quilt. He frowned.
"I'm sorry I hit you…" He said tiredly to Warriors.
"It's ok. I don't mind. But please for me, eat some of the stew." Warriors said as he held out a spoon of stew to a sleepy Wild.
Wild sighed as he opened his mouth. He felt the spoon enter his mouth and he swallowed. It was good. Not as good as his cooking but good enough for what these guys could come up with. They can't cook for their lives. Literally.
They repeated the process until the bowl was empty. They then noticed the next battle. Getting him to drink water. Wild was a stubborn brother and he was also tired. Not a good mix.
"Ok Wild. We just have to have you drink this water and then you can sleep." Said Warriors as he switched out the bowl for a cup of water, then brought it up to Wild's mouth.
"Noooo……" Wild turned his head into Twilight's shoulder for the 4th or 5th time today.
"And why not? It's just water." Warriors asked with annoyance.
"It has potion in it." Wild answered
"What is it and your hatred of potions?" Asked Hyrule annoyed. He was their main healer after all and had his own fair share of battles that had Wild taking potions.
"Zelda tricked me once when I didn't stop working…."
"Yeah? And how did you feel when you came to?" Asked Hyrule.
"Drowsy. Horribly drowsy." Said Wild.
"Well there's nothing in here." Said Twilight as warriors pushed the water closer.
Wild frowned slightly and sighed. He then grabbed the cup in a soft grip and brought it to his nose to sniff. Once he deemed it safe he took a small sip and tried to hand it back but Twilight stopped him.
"The whole thing cub." Said Twilight as he held the cup in place.
Wild whined softly but did as he was told. He honestly didn't realize how thirsty he was until he started drinking it. His throat was dry and hurt. He downed it quickly and let Warriors take the cup from his hand.
Wild didn't even try to stop Twilight as he dragged the two of them down. He let his head get scratched by calloused fingers. All their hands were calloused now that he thought about it. Whether it was from hero work and training or farm work. He let his mind drift as he listened to his brothers speak around him.
"I wonder what else has been going on. No matter who we ask about it it gets shut down and turned into the search for Zelda. Which is still big right now." Wild didn't try to differentiate the voices from each other.
"Well it has to be a lot for him to change his sleep schedule so much."
"We worked so hard on that too." The voice came out as a pout.
"All I can say is that I'm glad he's back. I miss his voice."
"He's still as stubborn as I remember."
"Do you think he's still together with that fish prince?" A little bit of laughter.
"Yes…. I am….. and Zora king thank you very much…" Wild quipped sleepily.
More laughter and he smiled. He felt the hands in his hair scratch again. He hummed happily.
"How about you try to get some sleep ya? Then you can tell us all about that Zora king."
"Mmmmfineee….." He said sleepily.
~~~~~~

Wild woke up in pain. He gasped as he sat up, gripping his arm. It hurt so bad. It felt like the blackness was back and eating away at him. He could feel it where his arm met the other arm and he cried.

He flinched when a hand came into contact with it. He watched as the hand moved closer and then softly grabbed his arm. Then he felt relief. He sighed as he felt the pain release him.

He looked at the owner of his hand to see a very worried Hyrule. The others also watched in worry as Hyrule worked on his arm.

"You ok?" Asked Hyrule as he grabbed the ice rag that the cook there handed him. Then put it on his arm.

"U-um yeah. Just phantom pain. Happens every once in a while." Wild says as he wiped the tears away from his eyes and cheeks. Hyrule nodded and sat next to him.

"How long have these been happening and have you been alone through them?"

"About a few days after I got it repaired so promptly 5 and a half months ago? And yes for the most part." Wild answered, thankful for the ice pack.

"Oh Wild. I'm sorry we weren't there for you." Said Hyrule as he frowned.

"It's ok. It's not your fault you couldn't come with. Hilia is the reason. Blame her." Wild gave a weak punch to Hyrule's shoulder with his other hand and smiled.

"Where are the others?" He asked looking around to not see them.

"They're looking at the stores up above. We've been taking shifts." Hyrule answered as he brought out some bread and handed it to Wild.

Wild took it and ate then looked over to Hyrule and back to his hand not knowing what to do.

"Wanna play cards?" He asked taking some playing cards out.

"Sure! How many gems are we betting?" Asked Hyrule as pulled out Warriors' coin bag.

"Let's start with five." Wild said as he brought some gems out.

"He's going to be so mad at you." Snickered Wild bringing a laugh out of Hyrule.

"He would have done the same thing to Legend. And I've still got some dirt on him from a few months ago. He won't hurt me." Hyrule said with an evil glint in his eye.

Wild gasped playfully as he handed the cards off to Hyrule to shuffle. Needless to say Warriors was mad when he got back to see all his gems gone but he stopped when he saw Hyrule and Wild asleep on the pile of blankets. He would get them back when they woke up. He knew he would do the same thing to Legend.

Chapter 3

Notes:

Hello! I wanted to say I updated the tags and Triggers! So please go and reread them! Thank you!

Chapter Text

The first thing that the others noticed was how different past wild acts rather than now's version. Wild acted differently in so many ways, and that's not even counting the changing sleeping habits.

Wild wasn't… as wild as he used to be. He flinches at every sudden noise, including bombs. Hell, Wild didn't barely even use bombs anymore other than what he called a bomb flower. He was overly observant and watched everyone's moves, something he hasn't done for months. He didn't talk as much as he used to, going back to signing more than speaking.

He wouldn't eat the food the others offered, only what he made and what people in the town made in front of him. He woke up to nightmares and memories whenever he was able to sleep at all. He watched the moon intently, as if it would attack them, every night. And that to Time was concerning, and everyone has heard about how Wild’s moon turned to blood in the past, even if they have never seen it themselves.

Wild refused to answer any questions on where Zelda was or what happened when he was gone, just showing how much the journey has affected him and his trust. It was like they were restarting either the thin line of trust they had built, that line being broken in just a couple months.

One thing that made all of them sad for Wild was that the boy never took off his hood again. They had worked with him for a good year to help change the habit, but now it seemed to be back with a harsh vengeance, like it never left.

They also started to notice how difficult and new this new layout of the land was. There was some places that even they couldn't get to, well it wasn't like they could get to them anyways with their stamina on climbing experiences.

Sky and Wild seemed to grow closer and yet so distant. There were things that they now shared closer than with the others and then there were things that they shared too well. They acted like they didn't know how to react around each other, but when they started to talk to each other, they seemed to click to much smoother than before.

Wild had been so much more distant when he saw the master sword. He would look at it and the look of guilt and hunger would fill his eyes. He would reach for it, his fingers itching to hold the sword once again, but would stop himself before he could come within a foot of it.

It was weird to see the shrines, the underground, the floating islands. Sky felt weird looking at the floating islands and castle. This place already felt more like his hyrule before all of the islands with the same status of the goddess and the songs from his time shining through in the people. How his sword was still in this time but somehow wasn't?

Sky sat there with Wild as they watched the others swimming silently. They had just been walking for a good couple days trying to get to the Zora's Domain, still having a good few days to go. Wild seemed to fidget in place and continued to stare at the sky worryingly.

“Hey Wild?” Sky started, Wild hummed in response.

“Why are you so hesitant with Fi?” Wild perked up at the question and turned to look at Sky.

“Um…. W-well…” Wild took a deep breath.

“You know how when I first touched the master sword and it turned into how it looked at my time in the timeline?” Wild's face was stained with pain and anguish, though he seemed to mask it well.

“Yes?... Are you afraid of hurting her?” Sky asked softly as he pulled out the sword and held it inbetween them, Wild's eyes grew sadder at the glowing, shiny, sharp, powerful blade.

…

Wild looked down to his feet, dragging his softened eyes away from the blade. Wild's hands wranglrd anxiously into the other as he stopped himself from touching the sword. His shoes were suddenly much more interesting than the conversation they were having.

“U-um yes? No? Both?...” Wild rubbed his hand nervously over the back of his neck.

“Both? What's the other reason?” Sky asked suddenly much more serious.

Sky saw how this conversation was hurting his younger brother, and he noticed how badly, desperately, he wanted to change that. Wild took a big deep breath that shuttered as he inhaled. Tears started to fill his little brothers eyes but they didn't fall.

Wild felt quilt, sadness, failure… He had failed again… and he didn't want to tell his brother that… even if they wouldn't blame him, he still felt responsible for more than a few million deaths….

And now the master sword was broken, Zelda was missing, Gannon was back…. How was he able to tell his brother, the man who made the legend they all lived through and the first user of the sword, that he had messed up so badly.

“Sky…. The master sword broke and it's-” Wild took a deep breath as he heard the gasp from Sky.

“Fi- she… she is missing…”

“Missing?” Sky's voice came through the haze that filled him, coming from the guilt.

“Y-ya, Missing…. I believe Zelda has it and is trying to fix it but….” Wild stopped speaking, his explanation sounded more like excuses to him.

“Your afraid that if you touch Fi… she'll break and disappear…” Sky's voice was quite and void of emotion.

Wild nodded, not being able to look up at his older brother. He didn't know what to expect… he expected Sky to shout, punch, get mad at him for his failure… he kind of wanted it, though he would never admit it. He wanted to have that anger directed to him as the punishment he has yet to receive, despite the other punishments he has already received.

But it never came….

He shivered as Sky's arms wrapped around him, filling his body with warmth. His skin tingled at the touch, it burned but in a good way. Sky's body shook against his as silent tears bled into his cloak and royal tunic. Sky's hold got tighter and tighter as Wild just say there.

Wild was shocked to say the least. He didn't know what to do, didn't know how to calm down his older brother. Despite being the second second oldest out of all the brothers, he felt so young. He felt the tears he fought so hard to not fall, fall down his face.

He let his head fall onto Sky's shoulder as his older brothers arms stayed in place. They were warm and grounding. He felt his body shake with silent sobs as he let his fidgeting hands fall to his sides tiredly. Sky's hand came up and held his head against his shoulder by the back of the neck, where the neck meets the head.

Wild shivered once more as he let himself be hugs, comforted. Safe… it felt safe…. Wild's body finally seemed to relax as he felt his knees buckle. Sky's body held him up though, as not to drop him or let him fall. There was a faint glow behind his closed eyes that shined a soft light blue, then a should of multiple woman's voices and chimes filled the silence.

The multiple voices somehow found a way to make a perfect harmony as a single voice started to filter into the air from the sword that stood from a crack in the ground between them.

"You have done nothing to hurt me Hero of the Wild. I should apologize for me not being strong enough to keep you safe on your many travels….

Lonely hero, you will never hurt me and I will always be here for your quest. Maybe not at first, but soon enough. I am sorry for not being strong enough for your own battles. Talk to me whenever you wish…"

Then like that the voice was gone. The sounds from the sword vanished as the light blue glow softly dissipated from the metal. Wild blinked at the voice as his tears continued down his face. Sky chuckled weltly at the voice, not letting go of Wild as he continued to silently cry.

“W-was that?”

“Y-ya. That was Fi herself.”

“She sounds beautiful…”

“She still is… and she loves you just as much as me….”

Chapter Text

Wild laughed loudly as Sky pulled him to one of the lower floating islands and begged to be taken to the top. The others were following along as to see what the fuss was about.

It had been about three days sense Sky and his heart to heart and honestly, Wild didn't mind it. Also it was really funny to see the faces of the others when he started to talk to Fi as well, seeing as she just looks like a glowing sword that can't speak. Though it was fun to finally get to show them the new powers he had now.

He had showed all of them off proudly. When Wind's excitement at a mast laying on the ground caught Wild's attention, he used ultrahand and promptly made a small raft out of fallen tree logs, glued the mast onto the wooden logs, then sailed them across the closest pond with the youngest.

When Hyrule as accidentally knocked into Legend and made the pink haired man, yes still pink, drop an expensive piece of jewelry that would have broke on site. So Wild used recall to make the jewelry stop before it shattered on the ground and come flying back into Legend's hands.

Twilight once found a chest in a cliff that none of them could climb too sense it was too steep, so what did Wild do? He used ascend to swim through the bottom of the rock and pushed the chest down for the rancher to open.

He used fuse to help Four when the smaller's tunic ripped until they found thread and needle. In return, Four gave him a new sword that he had forged for himself at Lan Lan ranch.

So when Sky started to pull Wild to a floating island that was about ten feet off the ground, he wasn't surprised. Sky had been begging him to bring him onto one of the islands and Wild wasn't about to say no.

“Are you sure you wanna go up there with me like this? I've never brought someone up with me using my powers. I don't want to hurt you.” Wild insisted, he still proceeds with some type of caution.

“It's fine! Plus there's a first for everything! Now let's go!” Sky said as he pulled him and Wild under the small island.

Wild chuckled softly and shook his head, then hesitantly wrapped his hand around Sky's waist and held his hand up to face the bottom of the rocks surface. He looked up to see a green grid and smiled smuggly.

“You ready? Hold your breath and move as if you were swimming.” He said looking over to Sky.

Before the older could say anything, Wild pointed his pointer finger up and then they lifted off the ground. It took maybe a second for them to fly into the bottom of the rock, then it went black.

Wild looked around as swirls and blobs of green and blue drifted over their skin like water. He smiled when he saw Sky holding his breath but looked around amazed at the sight. Their bodies moved with the waves of magic as they swam through the rock.

Then, just as quickly as it started, it ended. Their heads and upper bodies came out of the rock and Wild pulled Sky out, not wanting to know if the man would get stuck in the rock or not, then he hoisted himself up out of the rock.

When he looked over to Sky, Wild saw him waving over the edge to the others. There was cheers and voices calling for the next turn and Wild smiled. Wild went to stand up from sitting on the rock, only to loose balance and sall back down with a yelp. He looked down at his hands to see them shaking, then he noticed how exhausted he was.

“Hey Sky?” Wild called over, making Sky break out of his excitement and look over to him. Sky's smile fell off of his face as he got up quickly, then ran over to his side.

“Oh my god are you ok?!” Sky asked as he frantically searched Wild's body for injuries.

“Ya I'm ok, I don't think I'm ready to lift people through rocks yet though. Maybe we should hold out on that for a while, or at least until I get ahold of this better.”

Sky nodded and went to hug him, then helped him up and walked him over to the cliffs edge where everyone watched concerned.

“Everything alright up there?” Asked Hyrule with his hands covering his mouth, making a cone shape for his words to be louder.

“Ya we're good! Just turned out that bringing people with me like that is quite tiring! I should be good in a few!” Wild yelled down to the others.

“So this isn't like your teleporting powers?” Four asked.

“Nope! I can teleport you guys all day! This however? Knocked me out pretty fast! I could only get us out before I didn't have energy anymore! It's weird! I was fine when we swam through but after we got out, I couldn't move!” Wild yelled back, then turned to face Sky.

“I think I'm good now. Thanks.” He stated and Sky gentely let him go.

“So…. I saw an outfit a couple days ago…. Was it a Wing glider?!” Sky asked, suddenly very excited again. Wild laughed again.

“Ya it was, I call it a glider set.” Wild said as he grabbed his slate and put on the set.

“Can I get one?!” Sky asked as he prodded the clothing. Wild hummed in thought.

“I mean yes you technically could, but you would have to break all my records in the diving competition.” Sky perked up.

“Oh my god! Can I totally try either you?!” Wild laughed again, nodded, and smiled at his older brothers very excited reaction.

“It's Twilight’s night to cook anyway and we still have a few hours of daylight, so I don't see why not.” Wild responded before going over to the edge of the island and yelling down to the others that he was going to take Sky to go get some clothes.

~~~~~~
Well….
That ended quickly with Legend, Time, and Warriors being 50 gems richer than the others. They had all placed bets on if Sky was going to break Wild's records or not. Wild had to sadly choose the opposing side as he was the one who set the records.
Not only did Sky beat his records, but he finished them quicker too! Sky was so happy when he had gotten the glider set that Wild and him had to take a picture with their matching sets on. Wild smiled down at the picture but then noticed the time.
He looked up to see the sun was about halfway down and filling the sky with beautiful colors. He looked around to the others and watched them start to set camp on the floating island. His anxiety spicked a little as the sky started to get darker.
He knows that the blood moon was going to come sooner or later, but he didn't know if it was tonight that the moon was going to rise or not. At least they were somewhere that had no monsters, hopefully none of them would fall of the cliffs edge seeing as they were far enough away from it.
He forced his body to walk over to the others, then sat down with the others in a circle. He sighed and cleared his throat for the others attention, the talking stopped at once as all eyes fell onto him.
“Guys? I'd thought I would warn you incase it happens.” As he starts, the others faces become serious and worried.
“What are you talking about cub?” Asked Twilight softly, putting a hand onto Wild's shoulder in a silent way of showing support.
“You guys remember when I told you about the blood moons?” He asked softly.
Everyone gave their own form of affirmation. Time seemed to get slightly more serious at the words coming from his mouth, he did have similar problems after all.
“Well, they started up again, and I'm worried we will get one either tonight or in the next two days.” Wild explains as he points to the sun that was still going down over the horizon.
“Ok. Is there anything we need to know about the blood moon? This is your hyrule after all.” Asked Legend, his voice wasn't as rough as it usually was, it was more calming and serious.
“Y-ya, I know you guys haven't been around to experience them so I thought I should explain them.” Wild rubs one of his arms with the other one as he stares at the ground, trailing off.
“Well then, explain away.” Four said softly as he watched Twilight turn the fish over the fire.
Wild stayed quiet for a few minutes, trying to figure out how to explain to his brothers. The others didn't push him to talk, which he was happy for, as they knew that would only make the situation worse.
“It starts with the air getting hot and dry, like the desert. Everything starts to turn red and dark as malace wafts through the air in waves and spots. It gets hard to breath and everything feels like your breathing in smoke and fire. Your eyes burn and you start to cough, your energy depletes rapidly, if your not used to it.”
Wild stops speaking and tried to think about what to say next. He speaks up as the others watch him in fear, worry, and patience.
“After about 20 minutes of that, the malace in the air goes away and you get yoru strength back. It stays dark as pitch black though and malace still flies through the air.”
Wild takes a deep breath before continuing.
“Monsters reappear even if you've just killed them, making it hard to clear the land and dangerous. That's why I've insisted we had to stay somewhere safe.”
“The moon stays painted blood red throughout the whole night and doesn't change. When the night is over and the moon falls behind the mountains again, we go through another 20 minutes of agony before it turns light. The best thing you can do is try to find somewhere safe and try to sleep through it. It happens about every seven days.”
Wild looked up to the others expectantly and found worried and fearful looks. He sighed at that because he knows that feeling. It was terrifying and felt horrible. They've never gone through something like this, he remembers his first time.
He had fallen to the ground, unable to breath normally as the air got to hot and painful to breath. His knees had buckled underneath him as his energy got sapped away. One of the traveling merchants had saw him fall and helped him to a campfire, then looked after him the whole night as they were already used to the affects of the moon.
“How do we prepare, Wild?” Time's voice broke him out of his thoughts.
Of course Time would know about this to some extent, he knew how scary it was to see the moon not being its natural color. When Wild first brought it up, Time spat out his drink, choked for a bit, then came over and hugged him and didn't let go until the next morning.
Then that next day was spent with them staying where they had camped for the night and Twilight helping Time calm down the whole day from sudden panic attacks. After that, Time has checked on him everyday in the morning to make sure he was alright, like a true older brother or even father figure.
“We stay near the water, it can help ease the pressure and harsh change in the air. It helps with the burning as well. We try to stay calm and relax, then take the next day to either sleep or doing small tasks, nothing too energy exhausting. Keep yourself hydrated and fed, focus on your breathing. If your asleep, you won't even notice the change.”
He stopped for a second before adding a couple more things.
“Keep red potions near you, you can get high fevers from the strain that gets put on your body. It's very high risk of getting sick for your about your first ten times. If you have heat resistant armor or charms, they won't work. This heat and burning isn't from actual heat or fire, it's the malace in the air messing with your mind.”
Wild stops talking and looks up to the others.
“I'm sorry we had to end today with not good news and experiences. I should have explained sooner.” He says before standing up and going for his own bed roll, turning in for the night.
Chapter Text
The warning was nice to receive, but it was also a curse. Everyone was on edge that night and now that it was heading for the sun to set yet again, everyone was genuinely fearful.
Time watched as everyone did their own things as the night drew closer. It was a big chance that tonight was all their first time going through a blood moon, well except for Wild.
Legend seemed more snappy and paced around more often than not. Hyrule kept recounting their supplies, especially their red potions. Four was horribly quiet as he did whatever he could to take his focus away from whatever was going to happen. Sky was carving while he and Wild talked to the master sword. And Twilight was helping Time cook food and clean up camp.
They had all moved their bed rolls over to the small pool of water and didn't leave the small island at all over the last few days. Time had bottled up some of the water after he found out it was clean, then moved onto making sure they all had easy clothing options after the experience.
He tried to keep himself busy with small tasks to keep his mind off of his own thoughts, he didn't want to think about his time with the moon. He may be physically around 30, but deep down and mentally, he was around 18. It was strange to think about.
He was 5 when he pulled the sword, grew up instantly into an 11 year old, then got sent back in time to be a 5 year old. Now he was about 30 years old, making him the old man and the one in charge, responsible for all the others. If you add all of that together, he guesses he should be around 55 years old.
Ya.. that wasn't helping him in the slightest. Damn him, goddess Hilia, and his horrible quests.
…
Wait… now that he thought about it… what was the age of everyone? Who was the oldest and who was the youngest?
If we were to go from oldest to youngest here with all eight of them it would go like this:
Time, Warriors, Twilight, Sky, Wild, Legend, Hyrule, Four, and then Wind.
But if you think about it by how many years they were alive and or by timeline rules, it would be like this:
Sky, Wild, Time, Warriors, Twilight, Legend, Four, Hyrule, and then Wind.
And as confusing as that is, it also makes total sense. Sky is technically the oldest Link across the timeline and Wild follows close behind because he's over 118 years old. Then he was around 50 or so years old and the rest just fell into place by their actual ages.
It is kind of funny though to think that Wind will always be the baby while he will always be the old man in the group. But that also means that, being the physically oldest, not including Wild sense he's physically 18, he is seen as the old man in the group, the older brother and father figure.
It doesn't help his case that he's also married…
God, he is getting old isn't he? He was 50 all together, is physically around 30, but is still mentally around 18 years old. Maybe that's why he gets along so well with all of the others. He has a younger mind but still has seen more things than probably all of them combined, making him technically the smartest and most protective.
Man, these kids were going to be the death of him.
Time's thoughts were stopped by a soft yellow glow that came to his right as he stood up. He was intrigued to say the least and walked over to the small yellow glow. When he got closer he realized the glow was a flower.
“Hey Wild. What's this flower?” Time called out, making Wild and Sky stop their conversation.
Wild got up after saying something to Sky and walked over, then smiled at the sight of the flower. He reached down and plucked it softly from the ground and held it out to Time, so that the man could see it closer.
The flower glowed a brilliant golden-yellow. It was warm to the touch and even made Time feel tingly from where the flower touched his skin. It felt like pure sunlight and looked like it too. It reminded him of a story the grown-ups would tell the children when they were young back in his hyrule.
About a girl with beautiful sun colored hair that she got from a drop of sunlight that turned into a flower when it touched the earth. Her light could heal and even save people from eternal slumber. How she was stolen away and got saved by a fugitive, then was brought back to her family.
“That flower is called a Sundelion. They can heal people from gloom and malice poisoning. I mostly find them on the sky islands but sometimes if I'm lucky, I can find them on the mainland. I like to make them into soaps and put them into dishes.” Wild responded as Time stared down at the flower.
Wild softly grabbed the flower out of Time's hands, then broke the stem off so it was just the glowing sunny flower. Time watched in wonder and confusion as Wild lifted the flower up and put it in Time's hair softly.
“There. You keep that one, I have many. Maybe if we find a lot, we can make flower crowns out of them or even braid them into each other's hair. I should probably also show this to Hyrule so that he can help make stronger resistant potions to poison and sickness…”
Wild's voice taking about the flower's uses fades out of Time's mind as he smiles at the faint glow in the corner of his vision. But good things can never last as Time's lungs start to feel a soft burning sensation. He tried to cough a little to clear his throat, but it didn't seem to work very well.
He looked up at Wild, who is still thinking and unaffected, before he looks over to the others. Time hears faint coughing coming from Warriors as the others start to feel the strange burning too. Warriors turned to look over at him with confused eyes, their eyes lock and Time sees the same emotions running through them.
Then Warriors seemed to realize something as his eyes widened. The blue scarfed man looks around at his surroundings before looking at the cliffs. Time does the same in confusion as the burning starts to worsen, he then looks over to where Warriors is staring at with fear and he freezes.
The moon….
“Wild.”
Time stops the youngers rambling with a hand to the shoulder, making the other look up at him in confusion. That confusion changes into seriousness and worry as he can hear the coughing clearer now, he had seen the look that Time was sending him, before Time began coughing himself.
“Everyone! The blood moon has started! Please move towards the water pool and try to stay calm!” Wild suddenly yelled out. His voice was loud and confident, grounding even.
Everyone did as Wild asked but the words didn't seem to be settling in as they were all focused on the fact that they couldn't breath right without coughing. Wild helped guide everyone to sit down before he sat down himself and made everyone focus on him.
“Ok guys. I warned you already what is going to happen, but saying doesn't really match up to the real thing. I wanna start with this first as I walk you guys through the first 20 minutes of this hell. Ok… Sense were up high, you guys weren't hit with the malace harshly. You guys are getting it gradually, and while that can be a good thing, it also can make this worse.”
Wild started to get out food, started to cook something easy as if they all had a cold, the past food made being forgotten. Then grabbed everyone's wooden cups and filled them with the clean water Time had collected earlier.
It was nerve racking, and it was in a way they couldn't explain. The burning was becoming harsher, there was an itch in the back of your throat that you couldn't get rid of no matter how hard you coughed.
“Now, I will start feeling it in about ten minutes but I will try to keep you guys in the loop as best as I can. Keep slowly drinking the water in sips and don't speak, you'll destroy your throats more.”
Wild passed out the soap and the cups of water to the others before getting his own. He seemed to busy himself with taking care of the others. It was then that the others seemed to notice how the world seemed to change.
The colors that were once vibrant sunset colors were now dark blacks and bloody reds. Black and redish-purple smoke started to fill the air with little specks of red flying near them. Wind had moved into Four's side in fear at the specks.
“I want you guys to focus on your breathing and who's around you. Busy your mind with anything that isn't what's happening around you. If you start to feel like you can sleep, drink the red potion and the rest of your water, then try to sleep as fast as you can.”
Wild seemed to start feeling the effects now by how he was now clearing his throat every so often, but it wasn't as bad as the others reactions. They followed the instructions they were given as they tried to busy themselves with small things.
Time and Twilight were content with trying to help the others, as seeing them be comfortable and calm helped themselves relax. Sky and Wind took their red potions, drank the rest of their water and laid down, then tried to sleep even if it wouldn't come easily. It was a slow and exhausting process.
“In about five minutes, the m-moon will reach its pe-ak. That is when I won't be able to speak without c-oughing….”
Wild had to stop to breathe and drink some water.
“I suggest t-rying to sleep before it g-ets to that point, but if you're not going to… I must wa-rn you….”
Another moment of breathing and water. He was watching the master sword and how it glowed brightly whenever the malice drifted too close.
“The malice ar-ound us will start to come harsh-ly and fast as if it is the wind in a lightning storm. It’s main purpose is to spread har-sh fear, it feeds off of that fear…. It will f-eel as if you're choking for a few seconds… You will hear Zelda s-speak and mons-ters squeal from below us…. Then, after that….. the air w-will clear a lot but not completely….  After that… you can see the moo-n in its full glory…..”
~~~~~~

Time didn't know what to expect when the moon started to reach its peak in the sky, but the way Wild explained it made it sound like a walk in the park. Time, Twilight, Warriors, and Legend silently decided to keep pushing through either Wild as the night carried on. Sky, Four, Hyrule, and Wind tried their best to sleep but it just seemed to avoid them.

As the malice started to blow around quicker, breathing became harder. It felt as though you were breathing in hot, burning air every time you tried to fill your lungs. It made you want to cough and scratch your throat. Wild at this point started to cough as well as the wind blew harshly around them, the only lights being the fire, master sword, and the flower in Time's hair.

The air they breathed in looked hot and sluggish, as if you were breathing in a slimy substance. At this point, all you could focus on was the air and your breathing. Nothing else mattered as the bruning got to the point much hotter than the desert.

It happened in just a few seconds but even that was horribly agonizing. Those few seconds that couldn't have lasted more than ten seconds…. They felt as if they carried on for hours….

Everything was in a sick shade of red and blacks. If Time didn't double check his hands, he would have thought he was bleeding. He had to close his eyes when they started to burn too much to keep them open, tears ran down his face as the burning turned into a choking sensation.

Fear blossomed in his chest, a fear that was so different from the fear he had when he went against Gannon or even the moon. This fear was telling him he was going to die, though  it did feel different from a panic attack. He didn't know how to explain it. The pressure he felt didn't feel as heavy as a panic attack, panic attacks were more light and dizzying. This was different….

Time felt arms wrap around him and pull him down against his bed roll, though he couldn't tell who was guiding him down. He could open his eyes just enough to see Wild on the other side of the fire, gently guiding Legend and Warriors down onto the ground. He saw Wild look up through the malice filled air and stare directly at him.

The blue that came from the others eyes glowed softly in the darkness. They showed kindness, sadness, worry, protection, dedication… courage….

His vision was then swallowed by the darkness that swam around him.

~~~~~~
"Link….
The blood moon rises once again.
Please be careful, Link…"
~~~~~~

When Time came too, it was to the sound of soft conversations. When he opened his eyes and looked around, he saw he was laying on his bed roll and how it was still night. He slowly sat up and relished in the thought that he could breathe now. There was still a little bit of preserving and burning but now it was at least manageable.

He looked around the fire to see Wild, Twilight, and Legend sitting around the fire talking softly. Time slowly stood up and walked over to sit near Twilight.

“How long was I out?” Time asked as Twilight handed him a cup of ice cold water, he sipped it greedily.

“About a half hour, I woke up first and Legend followed after.” Said Twilight, his voice was rough from all the coughing.

“What about you?” Time asked Wild, who shrugged in response.

“I didn't pass out or anything. I've been through this many times, I stopped getting sick and passing out after the tenth time. I'm just surprised you guys have come too so quickly.” Wild answered, his voice rough as well but not as badly.

Wild reached to his right and picked up a red potion that sat on the ground, then threw it over to Time. Time caught it and drank the potions up slowly, already feeling much better.

“I don't say this often but… that was horrible..” Legend said as he wrapped his arms around his body. Twilight shivered in response.

“Are we the only ones awake?” Time asked as he refilled his cup with more water.

He looked around the campsite to see the others sleeping around the fire and water pool. He smiled softly when he spotted how the others were wrapped around each other. Their limbs mixed together and breathing aligned with the others. They looked so peaceful despite just going through something so horrible.

“Hyrule has been waking up on and off for the past few minutes, but besides him and you? No.” Twilight responded.

“It's best to let them sleep. With any luck at all, they hopefully will sleep through the next wave in the morning.” Wild says as he looks over the soup he's made for all of them. It has long since gone cold, but that was the point.

“There's another one?” Legend asked angrily, his voice getting loud even though he tried to mask it for the others. They knew he wasn't mad at them, but at the moon.

“Yes, I explained that but I should have expected you to not remember after the first wave. It's not as strong and only lasts about five minutes rather than the original 20.” Wild started to hand out bowls of cold soup to the others, which they all accepted easily.

“How are you feeling?” Wild asked Time when he accepted the bowl of soup.

“Better than I thought I would.” Time responded honestly and Wild seemed to accept the response with a nod of his head.

“Isn't it odd? I helped you lay down then laid down myself, not being able to breathe. Then I woke up ten minutes after it all went down like almost nothing happened.” Twilight responded and looked over the now black and red horizon.

“Will it…” Legend stopped speaking.

“Will it stay like this?” Wild asked in response and Legend nodded in response.

“Only until morning. Luckily we’re up on one of the islands, being down on the main ground is a different story.”

“What about the moon? Where is it?” Warriors's voice cut through the air making everyone else that was awake jump.

“Sorry, I should have warned I was awake.” He said as he sat down next to Legend.

“Well… the moon is…. Oh! Right there.” Wild said as he searched the sky for the red disk in the sky. He pointed to it and the rest looked in the direction, but what Time saw made his breath hitch.

The moon…

It glowed a dark, bloody red that shined impossibly bright. It was like it took your attention and swallowed it whole, not letting you look away. It felt burning hot and cold at the same time, the feeling of fear sinking into your bones making it impossible to move. Time felt his blood turn into ice when the moon started to flash with images from his journey.

“Time?”

Red and yellow eyes stared at him as the clenched smiling face came into view. He could hear it falling through the air, the whistling that came with the ground rumbling beneath his feet.

He could hear the sickening laughter and see the mask he grew to hate so much pop in front of the moon yet again. He felt like he was dying by how hard his heart was pounding. When did breathing and thinking get so hard to do?

“Time breath…”

Time felt soft callused hands softly grip onto his hand. His hand got placed against someone's chest and he could feel their heartbeat through the heavy wolf pelt. He could feel their breath exaggerating and felt his start to fall in line with theirs.

“That's it D- I mean Time. Deep breaths. Try to match my breathing.” Twilight’s southern voice came into his head as the rancher softly moved his sight off of the moon.

“I c-can't.” Time insisted but he saw Twilight shake his head no.

“If you can speak, you can breathe. You can do this, deep breaths.”

Time took his time to catch his breath and calm down. When he could look around again without freaking out, he saw how the others had started to check on the others. Leaving him and Twilight alone to come back to reality.

“There you go big brother. Welcome back Time. Knew you could do it.” Twilight softly encouraged as Time slowly came back.

“T-thank you…” Time responded and wrapped his arms around the younger. Twilight froze under the touch but relaxed and wrapped his own arms around the older.

“Anytime old man.”

Chapter 6

Notes:

So I just realized that in past chapters, I said there were only 8 of them. TvT
I realize now that there are 9 of them all together and I have changed that in the past chapters because it would have driven me insane. Hope that clears some stuff up! Thanks! :]

Oh! I also realized that I had made this story to be when the master sword was with Zelda and Gannon wasn't defeated. But now, and I'm sorry if this is confusing, imma try to make it so that he just barely defeated Gannon and has Zelda back! Thanks!

Chapter Text

Wild sat there on the edge of the island and watched as the moon got lower in the sky, almost reaching the mountains. He had taken off his hood earlier and now he was slightly regretting it. He shivered as the malice filled air flew through his hair.

“Be careful now, what would we do if you fall off.” Warriors's voice broke the silence.

Wild turned around to see Warriors and Legend standing next to him, Legend holding a blanket out to him. He smiled and accepted the blanket as the other two sat on either sides of him. They watched the moon slowly go down in silence together.

“You know, I can't help but think about how this place really matches your hero title.” Legend broke the thin silence, making the other two look at him.

“Ya?” Wild asked, sounding slightly confused.

“You know what? I can see that too.” Warriors agreed with a soft smile.

“The wild is unexpected and beautiful. Though even though it's beautiful, it is equally just as dangerous. It shows you things you wouldn't expect, making me love it even more at its mystery.” Legend says softly.

“Wow! The Legend, getting all sentimental? To me?” Wild said in mocking disbelief, resulting in a punch to his shoulder.

“Oh shut up. You helped us through something and I can't give my own way of thanks?” Legend said with a playful grumble that made both Wild and Warriors laugh.

“Well I'm glad I could help.” Wild said before an arm got wrapped around his shoulders and pulled him into Warriors's side.

“No seriously! If we had come here and you hadn't helped us, it would have been much worse.” Warriors said, his voice filled with sweetness that only a brother could give.

“Thank you.” Legend said as they watched the moon start to hit the tops of the mountains.

“You're all welcome.”

~~~~~~
The second waze wasn't as bad as the first and it didn't affect them as badly either. Instead of not being able to breathe until you passed out, you just coughed your throat raw for the second time that night.
It went by quickly and luckily the others stayed asleep through it. They themselves however just continued to watch the sun rise, coughing their way through it.
The once red and black land turned back into its beautiful greens and yellows. The sky filled with bright blues, yellows and oranges in a blinding way. Something that they will forever be able to love in a new light. They soaked in the clean air greedily, like it was gold in the middle of copper.
They all had started to zone out sometime after the sun rose. Legend and Warriors had fallen asleep and Wild wasn't far behind. Twilight and Time stood over them to make sure they didn't fall of the cliffside, but they were going down just as fast.
They had spent almost the whole morning in silence, just enjoying eachothers company. Twilight startled out of his sleepy haze when he heard Wild yawn below him. He chuckled softly and moved his body down so he can run a hand through his cub’s long golden hair. Wild hums sleepily in response, leaning into the touch heavily.
“Hey bud, how about we wake the others and then get some sleep ourselves huh? Today is meant to be a rest day.” Twilight says softly, Wild hums approvingly.
Twilight stands to get up then walked over to where the others lay, near the water pool and fire. He bends down to be at Sky and Hyrule’s side, then he nudges them both gently by the shoulder.
The two brothers wake up groggily and slightly annoyed before realizing who was waking them up and what time it truly was. Worry covered their faces and they seem to remember the night before. Sky and Hyrule both sit up, then Hyrule starts to wake the others sleeping around them.
“Oh my god are you guys ok?!” Sky asks, suddenly way more awake and moving to stand up. He doesn't even seem to notice how his voice sounds like it went through a cheese grater.
“Ya we're fine. We've been up for a long while. Can you guys take over for a few hours so we can get some shut eye?” Twilight asks as he moves his hand to cover up a yawn. Hyrule seems to freeze at the sound, suddenly realizing what the older meant by his fraising.
“How long have you guys been up for? You should have woken us sooner!” Hyrule’s voice is filled with worry and a little bit of anger, the younger was angry that they didn't wake them sooner.
The others seem to wake up more at the sudden commotion, only then realizing what was happening and what had happened the night before. Instantly Four and Wind stood up, the same height as Sky now, and started to head towards their other sleep deprived brothers. They were all worried for the others when they suddenly became aware of what was happening and Twilight could only shake his head no.
“You guys passed out after the first wave, we wanted to watch over you. And… well… after what we were just through? We couldn't sleep and didn't want to wake you up. Honestly, we're really glad you guys could sleep through it all, especially the second wave.”
That seemed to be the wrong thing to say because now the other brothers who had just slept through all the hell, were now very worried and angry at them for not waking them sooner. The other three had heard what he said to Hyrule as they helped carry and move the other four over to the bed rolls.
“What?!” Sky suddenly spoke out, his worry increasing with the others.
“What? What did I say?” Twilight asked sleepily. Last night really fucked him up, hadn't it?
“There was a second wave?!” Four asked in a surprised tone.
Twilight didn't understand. Maybe he was too tired to understand? Ya, that sounded right. He was too tired to even pick up on social cues and he wasn't going to start now. He just wanted to sleep. He sat down on his bed roll exhaustedly, his body protesting in moving anymore.
“Ya there was…. Can we, I don't know… maybe talk about this later?” Warriors suddenly spoke up, him and Legend laying next to each other, wrapped in their bad rolls.
Hyrule and Sky sighed heavily together at Warriors's response. Four nodded to Warriors, making the man smile and officially close his eyes to sleep. Wind pulled a blanket over Legend who had fallen asleep before Warriors.
“Come on guys. Let's let them sleep and regain their strength. Then we can tear them a new one when they are actually lucid enough.” Four said softly as he motioned Time over to his bed roll. Wild and Twilight laughed softly at that.
“Ok ya. Someone help the old man lay down, me and Sky will help Twilight and Wild.” Hyrule said as he stood up, starting to move to the older two.
~~~~~~

Wild looked at the cooking pot in front of him and frowned a little bit. He swore he had the materials for lunch, didn't he? Wild grabbed his slate and flipped through the different ingredients in his slate and smiled when he came face to face with all the necessary items.

Wild set his slate down on the log next to him and pulled out a bowl and whisk, tabantha wheat, cane sugar, goat butter, and a Endura Carrot. He worked gracefully to mix up the ingredients then realized he was missing something.

“Hey Four? Do you still have that small cake pan I gave you a couple months ago?” He yells out over the field.

They had moved off of the island after they had woken up, then walked a couple hours to one of the stables. It was an easy and quick change that none of them seemed to mind. That, and it was easier to rest without the fear of falling off a floating island.

“Ya! Hold on!” Four yelled back from inside the stable, rustling could be heard from inside before Smith came out with a small cake pan.

“Thanks.”

“No problem.”

Wild grabbed the pan and transferred the batter into it, then placed it above the fire and sat back. Four came to sit next to him but stopped and picked up the slate. He sat down and stared at it for a moment.

“Hey Wild? Can I look through your slate?” Four asked, his curiosity coming through easily.

Wild nodded silently, a small smile appearing on his face as Four started to flip through the slate intrigued. They sat in silence, enjoying eachothers company, before the others came to sit next to them for lunch a few minutes later.

Small conversations turned into quips and funny remarks after a few, resulting in a Warriors and Legend insulting each other playfully. The smell of carrot cake filled the air as Wild declared it done baking. Wild passed it out in equal pieces, everyone saying different versions of thanks.

“Wild? How many outfits do you have?” Four spoke up suddenly, making Wild look over to him with a fork in his mouth.

“Um…. Well…. A lot. But there's a few in there that I actually got from you guys and others from my quest. The masks have been in chests or just laying around waiting to be bought at highly priced prices.”

“From us?” Wind asked with a mouth filled with carrot cake, resulting in getting a small scolding from Time.

“Ya. But I don't mean from gifts, I mean like… they are from all over time? Like I have Twilight’s past tunic and Warriors's past armor.” Wild said as he put his plate to the side.

Warriors and Legend's bickering seemed to stop at the mention of the elder. Seeming quite intrigued with the new information. Four handed the slate back to Wild, then Wild pulled out Twilight’s old tunic for the others to see. Twilight’s eyes went wide and he started to choke on his cake.

“How do you have that?!” Twilight asked, shocked. Wild shrugged his shoulders.

“It was in a chest in the depths. I'll be honest, I don't know how it is here either. It scared me at first, cause in the dark, I thought it wasn't just your tunic in that chest. Then I realized afterwards that it was just the tunic.” Wild said as he handed the tunic over to Twilight, who inspected it heavily.

“I… I don't remember making this whole.” Twilight stated softly as he saw a big ripped and bloody gash where the arm was.

“That's because I haven't been able to fix it yet. I wore it nonstop on the mountain next to Reto village and one of the Bokoblins got a lucky shot. I was going to fix it a few days ago but I don't have a thread and you guys appeared so…” Wild trailed off as he looked through the slate again.

“Is your arm ok now?” Twilight asked, who only got a small affirmative hum in response from the one in question.

“What other stuff do you have?” Asked Wild, who was suddenly bouncing up and down behind him in excitement.

“Nothing from you I'm afraid.” Responding Wild, making Wind frown slightly.

“But I do have this.”

Wild pulled out Ravio’s hood from the slate and threw it at Legend's head, who failed to notice it coming. It hit the map follower in the face and fell onto his lap, making some of the others laugh. When Legend realized what had been thrown at him, his angry snarling comment was thrown out the window, leaving him a gaping mess.

“Wh- how?!” Legend gasped out as he lifted up the hood. Wild just shrugged his shoulders, he didn't have an answer to that question.

“I found it in a store in Haneto village. Here, pass it around and look at what's in the slate.” Wild said as he handed the device to Sky.

Sky looked through it before his eyes seemed to land on one outfit, his face filling with worry. He looked up at Wild.

“C-can I?” He pointed to the slate. Wild nodded and turned back to chatting with Legend and Warriors.

“Time, Twilight.” Sky said softly, making them look over to him. Their smiles falling at the worried look Sky sent them.

Sky tapped at three boxes on the slate and a dark set of fabrics fell down onto Sky's lap, nice and folded. Their eyes widened at the clothing. Time reached over and pulled up the cole black tunic. He gapped at it, feeling its energy radiating off of the piece of fabric.

“Wild?”

Wild broke out of his conversation at Twilight’s worried tone, only then realizing what Sky had brought out. He looked at them with confusion, not seeing the problem. He shifted nervously under the order's gazes.

“Yes?” He asked calmly.

“Why do you have the dark armor from Dark Link?” Time asked, suddenly getting his voice back.

He wasn't angry or scared. Time sounded overprotective and concerned, like there was something terribly dangerous about the pieces of clothing. Warriors looked over and gasped at the sight of tunic.

“I-I got it from the bargainer statues. Three in total. It helped me get through some fights.” Wild rubbed the back of his neck with his hand.

His leg bounced up and down nervously, something he does often when he feels strong emotions. Time put down the dark tunic and looked up at the others.

“How do you guys know about this tunic?” Time asked sternly.

“A twisted version of a vision.” Twilight said softly.

“I- I don't really know… honestly.” Sky said, sounding slightly disturbed by the fact.

“I had to fight him.” Warriors said.

“Can I look?” Time asked, grabbing the slate and Wild nodded.

Time looked through the slate, his nervous energy amplifying every now and then when he found more. His face changed from confusion back to nervous in a few moments. Twilight looked over his shoulder and froze as well.

“You have so many things… Fierce Deity Armor & Sword, Biggoron Sword, Majora's mask….. Wild… have y-you…” Time seemed to lose his wording for a moment, as if his tongue was heavy like rock.

“Have you met Fierce?”

Wild stopped and Time looked up at him. The campfire was quiet as the sun started to set behind them. Their carrot cake was now ice cold at this point, untouched.

“Fierce?” Wild repeated, Time nodded.

“I also had to fight him..” Warriors said, breaking the silence. Time turned to him with a horrified expression. It was filled with worry and sadness.

“I have..”

The fire filled with silence again. Time handed the slate to Twilight, who went looking through it himself. Time stood and walked over to Wild calmly, then bent down in front of him. He knelt to the ground and rested a hand to Wild's knee.

“Y-you have?” Time's voice shook as he spoke. Wild looked away, not being able to look the older in the eye.

“Ya… Shadow, Majora, and Demise…” Wild's voice was small and Sky froze at the last name.

“Shadow?” Asked Time.

“Y-ya. Dark Link likes to be called Shadow.”

Time's eyes fell to the ground as his shoulders shook. The grip on his knee grew tighter slightly as water hit the ground. Tears… Time was crying…

“T-time?” Wild tried but was stopped when Time's arms wrapped around him tightly. Tears hit his back, soaking into his blue royal tunic.

“I-im sorry. I'm so… so sorry Wild…” Time's voice shook as he spoke, Wild wrapped his arms around Time and held him.

Wild looked over to Twilight as he looked through the slate himself. Twilight’s jaw clenched as yellow filled his eyes, Wild could somewhat see the Dusk Bow shining in his eyes. Then the light left and Twilight started gapping at air like a fish, tears entering his widened eyes and falling to the ground as he clicked on the slate.

Midna’s helmet, or at least that's what Twilight whispered under his breath, fell into his hands. Tears ran down his face as he clutched it to his chest. His breath was shaky as he held it, as if letting go of the helmet would make it break instantly.

It was silent around the fire. The night that was meant to be calm was now filled with sorrow and nervousness. Wild hugged a crying Time against him while Four moved to help Twilight calm down. They spent the next few minutes looking through the slate one by one, looking at past armors and weapons from their times.

Chapter Text

At first, it wasn't very obvious. Now however? Wild started to realize something that he should have noticed way sooner. The constant ache and nausea that came whenever he came close to the depths. How a blood moon would make him feel more tired every time.

The way he still felt like he was getting burned alive near his arm. How he was way more tired now than when he started his journey.

He thought that it was maybe because he messed up his sleeping schedule so much and now was going back to a more natural one. Or how he was eating normally again instead of rationing all his food.

It didn't really become something to worry about until he almost hit Four with an arrow because he didn't have enough strength to focus. He still felt bad about that, even though the smith said that it was fine over and over again.

Wild hadn't really put it together until they went to give a girl some food. They were at one of the stables and the girl had been pushed into some malice by a Lizalfo, she laid next to her travel partners on a bed heavily sick with fever.

They were apparently heading to the main camp in front of the castle to see if there was anything that could undo the malice poisoning before it got too bad. Wild felt so bad that he went out and made some food with a Sundelion, then brought it back to the travelers.

By the morning, the girl was ok to walk by herself. She only had a persistent cough and some fatigue to Hyrule and Wild's surprise. The girl came over and thanked him profusely and even offered to show Wild some of her findings.

Wild declined nicely though and went to stand up, only to have to sit back down on the bed. His vision swam and his nausea grew. The girl instantly got worried and asked if he was alright. Wild insisted he was fine but the girl didn't believe him.

“What are you experiencing?” She had asked him sternly.

Wild had then explained what he had been experiencing and how he would be fine in a couple days. However he was shut up when the girl frowned and insisted that he really wasn't. She had instead walked over to the chain, too far away to hear what she was saying to them.

He watches as he breathes heavily, suddenly feeling hot and sweaty. His vision blurred a little as he started to cough. He covered his mouth with his hand and froze when pain blossomed in his chest.

He felt something wet land onto his hand as his coughing seemed to fade. He looked down at his hand and saw red, his eyes widening when he realized it was blood. He had coughed up blood….

“Are you sure ma'am?” Hyrule’s voice filtered through the ringing in his ears, breaking the shock.

“Yes! I'm sure! He is having the same symptoms I had earlier! It's called malice poisoning. It comes from malice and wasn't treatable until he gave me that food. I wouldn't joke about this mister! I'm honestly surprised he hasn't fallen ill sooner!” The girl's voice came after.

There was a swear to his left, where the chain was, but he couldn't tell who it came from. He didn't notice himself start to sway as hands gripped his shoulders, shaking him softly. He opened his eyes, when had he closed them? Only to see a blurry form of Legend in front of him. He looked worried, no anger present like usual.

“Hey, hey, hey. Wild, you have to stay awake. Fuck! Hyrule!” Legend's voice filtered in and out as Wild's vision started to go black.

There were a couple swears and different voices calling his name in panic before Hyrule came bursting into his vision. He saw Hyrule look over him in a hurry before the man noticed the bloody hand. Hyrule’s eyes widened, scared, and he looked back up to Wild and started to say something that he couldn't make out.

Hyrule turned his attention to yelling at the others before he turned back to him and snapped in front of his face. The noise startled his mind and made him focus slightly more on what Hyrule was saying. The sudden wake up made him start coughing again, an iron taste filling his mouth as he did so.

“Wild, hey, hey. You have to stay awake. Don't sleep ok? No matter how tired you get, don't. sleep. Please Wild. Stay awake for me, Link.”

Hyrule’s voice was dripping with sadness, concern, and scared energy. But it also sounded like it was covered and filled with honey. It sounded so smooth and sweet. And despite all the consent telling and despite pleas, he couldn't help but let his body fall into the ever persistent exhaustion.

He let the darkness fill his whole vision and his body went limp in Hyrule’s hold. He felt the fog and fuzziness fill his mind and body as his thoughts and sense of reality fell apart.

~~~~~~
Hyrule sat there, his heart pounding and tears filling his eyes. He watched and felt as Wild went limp in his arm, blood running down from his mouth. His breathing picked up as he swore loudly. He started to look around for something, anything that could help Wild.
“I need someone to get a wet rag on his forehead and someone else to get my bag! Does anyone know what he used in that food for that girl?! If so, we need to find it quickly!”
Hyrule knew his voice was shaking harshly but his brother could be dying in front of him. He didn't want that. Not at all.
It was almost immediate, his voice startling the others out of their own shock and panic. Warriors ran out of the stable to get water while Wind grabbed a rag from his small pouch. Four went to help Legend calm down and Twilight went to ask the girl what she had been given.
Time stood there for a second, his eyes widening with realization. He ran to Wild's side and pulled up the slate. He looked through every tab, eyes scanning everything, before he swore loudly and put the slate back down.
Time started to pace back and forth as the others came back with their respective things. When Twilight found out the girl didn't know what she was given, he moved to Wild's head and started to comb his hand through the other's hair. He whispered soft reassurances to the other, even though Wild couldn't hear him.
Hyrule had grabbed the now wet rag and put it against Wild's forehead, hoping to reduce the now heavy fever even if it was just slightly. Four and Legend had left the stable a while ago as Legend seemed to start having a harder time to calm down. No one blamed him. Warriors had moved Wind out of the stable so that the younger didn't have to watch his older brother in pain.
It was then that Time saw something fall to the ground from his hair, the faint glow falling with it. His heart stopped beating as he watched it float down to the ground. A smile came on his face and bent down to pick up the flower, then he brought it over to Hyrule.
“Hyrule! Can you turn this into a paste or something?”
Hyrule looked over to him and then to the slightly wilted flower in his hand. Hyrule looked back at him as if he was crazy causing Time to laugh softly.
“Time! This isn't a time to laugh or to give me random flowers!” Hyrule yelled at him and Time sighed loudly, tiredly.
“The flower can heal the poison.” Time said calmly.
He watched as Hyrule’s eyes fell back onto the yellow glowing flower, then it seemed to suddenly click. He smiled just as brightly and grabbed the flower gently, as if it was the most precious thing in the world. Twilight looked at them with confusion, like they were speaking in riddles or a different language all together.
He then reached in his bag, pulled out a wooden bowl and a smooth granite rock, then threw the flower into the bowl and crushed it. Hyrule worked gently but quickly, continuously smashing the flower into a paste.
“Can you get me that red potion in my satchel?” Hyrule asked suddenly.
Twilight moved quickly and picked up the bag, looked through it, and pulled out a red potion. He held it out for their main healer who took it gratefully. Hyrule opened the red potion, poured out half of it into the bowl, and started to crush the paste again.
After the paist became an orange colored liquid, Hyrule raised the bowl up and poured the mixture back into the bottle. He shook it up harshly before motioning for Twilight to lift Wild's head up. Twilight did as he was told and Hyrule slowly poured the now red-orange potion into Wild's mouth. Hyrule’s body slumped as he started to breathe normally again.
“We are having a talk later about hiding injuries and sickness again.” Time said, causing the other two to groan in annoyance.
Now…
Now all they could do was wait and hope.
~~~~~~

Wild felt fuzzy…

And exhausted….

He felt like when he woke up in the shrine of restriction, or when he first used Mipha's grace, or when he woke up on the sky islands.

He felt fingers running through his hair and something wet against his forehead. What happened? Last thing he could remember was talking with that girl, getting dizzy, and…. Coughing up blood…

Wild tried to open his eyes but they were too heavy. He felt himself start to cough and whine at the pain it caused his throat. The hand in his hair paused for a few before starting again.

“Go back to sleep cub… I've got you…”

He didn't fight it. The voice's logic was easy and very convincing. He let himself fall back into the fuzziness that consumed him.

~~~~~~
When Wild came too again, he could actually open his eyes. He squinted slightly at the light that blinded him. He heard voices and then the light had dimmed immensely. It was still there but now it was a dim glow against the darkness of the outside.
There were no hands running through his hair sadly but he didn't mind. There were warm arms wrapped around his body instead and someone breathing softly underneath him. He opened his eyes fully now, finally able to take in his surroundings.
Warriors, Time, Four, and Wind sat on one of the beds on the other side of the room sleeping, wrapped in each other's arms. Twilight as Wolfie was laid down on his legs sleeping.
Hyrule sat down next to him on his right, cleaning his potion making supplies. The lamp sitting behind them, glowing softly as the sound of crickets filled the stable threw the night air. Hyrule smiled softly and sweetly at him, his eyes shone with harsh exhaustion.
“Hey, glad to see you actually coherent.” Hyrule said as he put his potion making supplies to the side next to the lamp.
“W-what hap-pened?” Wild's throat hurt and he had to fight the cough that insisted on coming out. Hyrule grabbed a cup of water and handed it to him. He drank it greedily.
“You had malice poisoning. It got so bad that you coughed up blood and passed out. We're doing rotations. Gave us all quite a scare.” Hyrule motioned to the arms wrapped around Wild. Wild looked up to see a sleeping Legend holding him. Legend had tear tracks running down his face.
“Some more than others.”
An easy silence filled the air as Wild relished in the arms holding him. Legend was warm and nice to cuddle when he allowed them to touch them.
“Why didn't you tell us? Now we all have to go through the injury, sickness, and selfcare talk from Time later.” Hyrule joked softly, making Wild chuckle weakly.
“I honestly didn't notice until we met that girl, and even then I couldn't say anything because well… you know.”
Hyrule nodded and moved to get back to cleaning his stuff in the dimly lit room, that comforting silence coming back. Wild felt the exhaustion come back and he yawned loudly, making Hyrule laugh softly.
“Go back to sleep champion. You'll be ok.”
Wild rolled his eyes but listened to the healer. And if Legend found his favorite meal on his bed roll with a “sorry and thank you" note two days later, he didn't say anything other than give a small smile.
Chapter Text
Wind had and still has experienced things that no 12 year old should go through but he doesn't mind. Yes, he defeated Gannon when he was ten and even took a selfie before beating his ass. Yes, he did save his sister and deal with talking boats. Yes, he did go through a portal and meet his many brothers that he would die for a week after his quest ended. But one thing still hasn't changed.
Seeing ghosts.
It was scary, though he would never admit it, and didn't know how to tell the others despite being with all of them for two years now. He would wake to nightmares and get flashbacks like the others but he didn't let them affect him. He was an older brother and had defeated Gannon for crying out loud!
But…
There was something about, no matter where they went or go to, how the forever persistent blue translucent figures never left. In everyone's hyrule, there was always at least one somewhere. I mean, people die everywhere and all the time.
However, when he went into Wild's hyrule… it was always just blue. It was blue and cold. Always so cold… he shivered at the thought. When they go to any place in Wild's world other than the forests or stables, there are always more than 100 spirits floating around the place.
He learned quickly to not look at any of them, pay no mind he told himself. Because when even one of the spirits notice him staring, they immediately try to talk to him or worse. Sometimes it's cool to see them, the little kids just want to show him cool tricks. But… Most of the time it was depressing and dreadful.
Sometimes the spirits, he hated these types, just wanted to play or mess around. So they fly in front of the chain and him and try to get their attention or scare them. Once, it worked, though he's not proud to admit it.
One had jumped right in front of him and yelled in his face, making him scream and fall to the ground. He had scared the others so much that they wouldn't let him walk until they got to Time's house. He didn't answer their questions though when they asked him what he saw or if he was attacked by something.
Though, the first time he got genuinely worried about this talent of his was when he first met Wild. Wild had just finished his first quest and was still closed off to them, having just barely met them. When Wind saw Wild walk through the portal, he felt sick to his stomach.
Wild had four spirits floating and talking to him, as if old friends. It wasn't like with Sky, where he could sense Fi but… they were different. Instead of being bound to the person by grudges or by not moving on, they willed themselves to be there, willingly. But that wasn't what made him sick…
When Wild moved, his spirit and body disconnected from each other whenever the older stepped. He didn't seem to react like a normal person would to the dissociation. The ghosts around him didn't even seem to notice it. Wild glowed blue as his body shifted in every which way. This man, this man in front of him. This man had died and came back.
When Wind tried to bring it up halfway through the year to the older, he seemed confused and questioned him. So, instead, Wind kept it to himself. He said “nevermind” and pretended to be bored as he went to bother Legend. Wild seemed to want to say something but decided against it at the last minute as Wind walked away.
When they ran into Wild again however, after his second quest, Wild was more confused than ever. The other spirits were still there, but now they weren't the only ones. Instead of four, now there are 11. Three of them seemed connected to physical objects, being able to talk to each other but didn't seem to care about the others' presences.
While the other four were connected to Wild. They however didn't act like normal spirits, more like puppets. They acted when he called for them, even being able to attack and assist with travel, but besides that they kind of just followed him. They didn't react to anything and they didn't act as if they were even conscious.
When the chain started to get close to Zora’s domain, Wind instantly felt uncomfortable. More and more spirits seemed to appear and the constant wave of blue started to form. The blue should have been comforting and reminded him of home but… if he was to be honest, it was starting to get to him.
He froze on top of the hill they were going to camp tonight before going into the wetlands and Wind felt sick. He wanted to heave when he saw the multiple different spirits float on their merry way. His eyes widened when he saw the wave of blue below him and had to swallow the bile that raised in his throat.
“Beautiful isn't it?” Wild's voice broke him out of his harsh gaze, making him jump a little.
“Woah! Calm down there, sailor. It's just me.”
Wind took in a deep breath shakily before turning back to look over the horizon. He missed the way that Wild looked at him, worried.
“Y-ya…. Beautiful…” Wind's voice came out dripping with uncertainty and discomfort. Disgust slipping through his tone. Wild looked over at him with confusion.
“What do you see?” Wild asked softly as he went to sit down on the grass.
Wind blinked at the sudden question, confusion filling his features as he looked down to the older.
“W-what?” His voice came out shocked, quiet.
“Well, you obviously see something different than just beauty. So, what do you see?” Wild's voice stayed soft, he patted the ground next to him. A silent invitation.
Wind exhaled loudly and sat down next to Wild, seeming uneasy. Once he had sat down, he looked back over the horizon in front of them. The constant cold blue staring back at him tauntingly.
“If I told you, you wouldn't understand.” Wind said as he pulled his knees to his chest in a comforting way. Wild frowned at that.
“Try me.” Wild said with confidence, making Wind look over to him in shock.
It took a moment to recollect himself as he pried his eyes off of his older brother and back out to the horizon.
“You wouldn't believe me..” Wind said in a soft voice, it shook with uncertainty. Wild took a deep breath as an uncomfortable silence filled the air between them.
“Whatever it is, it's been bothering you for a while hasn't it?”
Wind felt tears prick his eyes as he gave a whiney affirmation. Wild hummed in understanding as his hand started to rub against Wind's back in small circles.
“I thought so.”
“H-how did you know?”
Wild smiled softly, even if it was small.
“Because you're my younger brother Wind. That's my job to know if something is bothering you….. And it's my job to help fix it in any way I can.”
Wild's voice was so comforting and soft, like a brother's should be, that it made the tears in his eyes start to fall. Wind's chin trembled as the tears fell and Wild just pulled him into his chest.
Wild didn't seem to mind that Wind was getting his tunic all dirty as he was more focusing on comforting his younger brother. He started to rock back and forth as the younger one cried. After a few minutes, sobs turned into soft sniffles.
“There we go. Are you ok to talk now?” Wild asked calmly as he continued to rock them back and forth smoothly.
Wind didn't move away from Wild's chest and Wild didn't seem to mind. Wind rose his hand and wiped his tears away on his sleeve. He didn't move his head away from Wild's chest because he didn't think he could face the wave of blue without breaking down again. They stayed silent again for a few as Wind collected his thoughts.
“It's all blue….” His voice came out breaking and shaking, though Wild didn't seem to mind.
“Blue?”
“Mhm.”
The rocking stopped.
“What do you mean bubba?” Wild's voice was sweet and slow, it was nice on Wind's aching head.
“The…. The…..”
Wind's voice was scared. How would Wild react? Would he think he's gross or crazy? Would he hate him? The rocking picked back up as a hand rubbed in small circles again. Around and around. Up and down his back in small patterns, easy to match his breathing to.
The platform he stood upon broke in two, leaving a heaving gap in between him and paradise…
“Calm bubba. Take your time. Don't force yourself.”
If Wind hadn't just cried so much, he would have started again at the kindness in his brother's voice. He closed his eyes and took a deep shaky breath.
It was a big jump and he was willing to leap. He ran and jumped in the air, hoping that his brother would catch him if he fell...
“The spirits… their blue… there are so many of them….”
Silence…
The rocking and rubbing stopped as Wild took in a sharp breath.
Falling…
Wind was falling and he didn't know how to fix it. He wasn't going to make it. The edge was too far…
He didn't want to fall…
“You know, they told me that they caught you staring.”
Hands….
His stomach lurched…
What?
“W-what?”
Two hands were wrapped around his wrist, holding him from the dark abyss under him…
He could feel the hands start to slip…
It was going to let go and he was going to fall….
“My friends… from the first time they saw you, they knew you could see them. They have been wanting to meet you…. They say that they would protect you with their lives if they could.”
Before the hands could let go, six other hands wrapped around his wrist….
All blue…
He went to look down at the inky black below him, but a voice stopped him…
“Don't look down, young hero…
You will grow more scared of what's below…
Lift your head up…
Look at us…
For we won't let you fall…”
Suddenly blue wings underneath him flapped up, sending air currents so strong….
He flew….
“Y-you believe me?” Wind's voice broke more as tears began to fall yet again, he didn't try to stop them this time.
“I do. And I believe the others would too.”
His feet touched the rock on the other side of the deep and traitorous gap…
“I Believe you, Wind… I always have and I always will.”
Wind's tears turned into sobs as he balled his hands into Wild's tunic. Wild went back to rocking and rubbing comfortingly. He started to hum a soft tune that he found relaxed the other after a particularly rough nightmare one night.
It was one that was distant in his own mind, an itch in the back of his mind, a ringing in his memories. Maybe, a lady once sang it to him in the past. But for now, he would never know where it came from.
Arms wrapped around him and pulled him away from the edge…
The warmth from their touches made him want to cry more….
The hands guide him softly through the door in front of them…
Paradise was there for him….
He realized something at that moment….
“I love you Wind. Please, Never forget that.”
Wild pressed a kiss to Wind's forehead as he continued to rock back and forth, rubbing against the younger's back softly in a comforting motion. He would never let his younger brother go. He would never let him fall.
His brother had caught him….
And carried him to paradise.
Notes:
Hey guys! I'm rereading what I just posted and I wanted to say sorry for spelling and grammar mistakes. My editor is on break and spell check is... well, checking everything really really bad haha. Thanks and hoped you enjoyed reading what I have out! :]
Chapter 9: IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!
Chapter Text
Hello everyone! This is the writer of this story. And I want to say sorry to people I have offended and might offend. I do not and didn't mean to offend anyone with my tagging or my writings.
I got a comment from a reader, who I will not be naming for their privacy, about my tagging and had some concerns.
They had told me that my tag was offensive to anyone who had DID and I am sorry. I am trying to work on fixing that at the moment but it may take a few. The tag being this:
"Four and Time have DID but it's very mild for Time".
I do not have DID nor am I apart of a system. I am very unknowing in this topic, meaning I don't know a lot about it and didn't know what counted as offensive or not. I do take blame for that and anything that could count as offensive in this topic in the future of this story.
My wording when I write or tag things may sound good to be but is actually pretty offensive when someone can explain why and how I was being offensive. I didn't understand that my wording of DID being mild would have sounded more different and harmful to others.
I am willing and am going to change the tag so that it won't be so harmful. This might take a minute though because I don't know how or what to change it into yet that won't be seen as offensive. I will also be changing up one or two of my future chapters I am currently writing so it hopefully won't be seen as hurtful.
If anyone reading has DID or sees anything that is offensive to you in my tagging or writings, please tell me. Tell me what I should change it into or how to write it so it doesn't come out wrong. I will gladly accept the comments, ideas, and changes once I know how to do so.
I do ask only one thing though if you are going to comment or read my stories. Please be nice and patient with me. I understand if you are mad and offended, but I can't help you or figure out how to fix it if I'm having a panic attack because I feel so bad and stressed out over it. Please use simple wording and explain what needs to be addressed calmly, and I will get back to you in a couple hours to a day.
Again, I am so sorry if I have or do offend you. Whether that is now or in the past. That was and is not my intention and I desperately want to fix it to not make it hurtful to you and others.
Have a good day/night! Thank you for reading this! Stay safe and again I apologize.
Sincerely,
Bluelagoon11 ❤️
Ok! Big thanks to the readers who have reached out to me, who have helped me change the tag into something less offensive! I hope this helps.
I do want to explain in one of the chapters I'm writing about what their systems are like, but first I need to talk with the people who have helped me so it doesn't come out as hurtful!
Love you all! Goodnight!
