Summary
The school’s grounds feel like Riki’s swimming on the very surface of the ocean yet he can’t go any deeper no matter how much he wants to. Going deeper means an unfathomable pressure on his skull and very body until he physically cannot take it and he cracks and crumbles all before he can reach what lies deep beneath. He knows that he would not be able to make it, so he stays on the surface.
Yet Riki’s curiosity just every so often makes him dip his head under the surface and go a little deeper into the dark and insurmountable waters allowing him to catch a brief glimpse of whatever lies beneath before he is forced back up for air.

Riki goes into the woods behind his school truly not expecting much yet he gets much more than he bargained for.
