"Pocky game? What's that?" Sam cocked his head at Grian, who was standing in front of him with a box of pocky in his hands.
"Well, it's a game involving pocky!" Grian flashed Sam a cheeky smile.
"Obviously. How do you play? How do I win?"
Grian opened the box, taking out a singular piece of pocky. "Open your mouth."
Sam mumbled something about "that's what he said," but obliged, opening his mouth.
"So, we both have an end in our mouth. We take turns taking bites, first to pull away wins." Grian placed the chocolate end in Sam's mouth, watching as his friend closed his mouth around it.
Grian leaned in, taking the other end in his mouth. He felt his face start to heat up, he hoped Sam didn't notice.
Grian took a small bite, his face moving half an inch closer to Sam's. He let out a surprised squeak when Sam took a large bite, grinning at the shock on Grian's face.
Grian took another bite, curious as to what Sam was trying to do. Did he want to kiss Grian?
His question was answered when Sam took another bite and pulled back. After finishing chewing, Sam grinned widely. "I win!"
Puzzled, Grian's eyebrows furrowed. "No, you lost."
"What? But I ate the most!"
"The goal isn't to eat the most. It's to be the last to pull away!" Grian rolled his eyes, pulling out another pocky stick.
Sam let out an "oooh" noise before snatching the pocky from Grian with a sense of determination. "I'm gonna win this time." He stuck the pocky in his mouth, leaning closer to Grian.
Grian's face was pink as he took the other end in his mouth. He took a bite, this time a bit larger than his previous ones.
Sam took another bite, a focused look on his face.
Grian moved close, taking a large bite that moved his face an inch away from Sam's.
Sam moved forward, taking the last bite and closing the distance between the two of them.
It took him a moment to realize their lips were touching.
Sam pulled back, his face red. "You… you tricked me!"
"I told you the rules!" Grian's lips still felt wet with Sam's spit. He didn't wipe it off.
"Yeah, but you obviously wanted to kiss me! Clearly it was a trick!" Sam's voice was filled with false anger. He wanted to be mad at Grian, but he couldn't find it in him to do so. Mostly he just wanted to kiss Grian again. Properly, this time.
Sam's mouth tasted mostly like chocolate, but he could taste a hint of strawberry from Grian's chapstick.
They were silent for a moment, looking each other in the eyes.
Sam broke the silence. "Strawberry?"
Grian blinked. "What?"
"Your chapstick. It's strawberry flavored. I love strawberry flavored things."
"I uh… I know. That's kinda the reason I bought it…" Grian's face was warm.
Sam hummed. "Mind if I taste it again? I've been thinking about buying some."
Grian was confused at how quickly Sam changed topics, but didn't comment on it.
"I uh… Okay." Grian reached in his pocket and pulled out the chapstick. He held it out to Sam.
"Hm… I'd rather taste it like this." Sam pushed Grian's hand aside, grabbing his chin and kissing him again, longer this time.
After a moment, Sam pulled away. "Yeah, it tastes better when I steal it from your lips."
Grian didn't know what to say, he was shocked into silence.
"You should keep wearing that. I'd love to taste it more often." Sam stood up, grabbing a pocky from the box before leaving the room.
Did Sam just imply he wanted to kiss him again? Many times? Often?
After the shock wore off, Grian pulled out his phone. He needed to make sure he never ran out of chapstick.
