Work Text:
"Okay, angel, that is too much!" Crowley exclaimed as he found Gabriel sleeping on the bookshop's sofa. His sofa. Literally, the most comfortable piece of furniture in the whole building and Aziraphale perfectly knew that he was very attached to it. That's why, he couldn't understand how he had allowed the archangel to just take it like that.
"Crowley, don't be so loud, he's just fallen asleep," the angel replied and led the demon away from the sleeping Gabriel.
It'd been only two days since the archangel appeared in Aziraphale's bookshop and he still hadn't figured out how and why did it actually happened. However, he didn't just want to abandon the lost angel. No matter, how mean and rude Gabriel was to him, when Aziraphale saw him, so lost and helpless, he just couldn't resist.
Unfortunately, Crowley wasn't that keen on helping the archangel. From the very first second when he had seen him in the bookshop, he had been trying to kick him out but Aziraphale was stubborn.
It was odd to have another person around. Especially, after six thousands years spent mostly only with Aziraphale. But the problem was not the additional person. The problem was that it was the archangel fucking Gabriel who was ruining everything. It'd been only two days but Crowley had already managed to hate him even more.
After his nap he expected to spend more time with his angel, now, that they didn't have to fight against Heaven and Hell. But the God had other plans for them, as always...
"And why should I care?" the ginger growled. He was on the edge of rage but decided to hold back in order not to draw unnecessary attention just like he did two days ago. "This is my sofa, angel, and you know about it!" In fact, Crowley felt a betrayed. Since the archangel showed up in the bookshop, Aziraphale was jumping around him making sure that he had everything he needed. It was awful.
Aziraphale chuckled as he heard the reply. "Your sofa? Crowley, I think you're a bit overdramatic. And jealous."
"Me? Jealous?" the demon smirked. "What I could be even jealous of?"
"Well... if you're not jealous then I guess you won't mind me fixing the blanket over Gabriel," the angel teased. Crowley must have admitted that Aziraphale got an attitude during these four years while he was sleeping.
Immediately, Crowley blocked the angel's way to the other part of the bookshop. "He's fine. He's not a child."
The angel only smiled proudly and sat at his desk, busying himself with another book. The truth was that Aziraphale really wanted to use his free time as much as he could. He needed to find out what had happened to Gabriel but it was quite impossible to do so when the archangel was awake and confused. Aziraphale didn't blame him though.
The more books he read, the more hopeless he was getting. None of them said anything about an archangel suddenly losing their memory. Also, the fact that Crowley was still in the bookshop and was pacing around the sleeping Gabriel as a predator watching their prey wasn't helping.
"Crowley, can you leave him, finally?" the angel pointed out, closing his book and standing up. "He doesn't need more stress."
"I need a place to sleep on," the demon said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Aziraphale groaned and grabbed the demon's arm, dragging him upstairs. It took Crowley off guard and made him feel like he made the angel mad but... could Aziraphale really be mad at him?
Finally, the door in front of them opened and the two of them walked into a very cosy bedroom. A big bookshelf was the first thing that was noticeable in the room. Next to a big window that showed the busy streets of London. There were many painting hanging on the wall which made the room look like a painter's workplace. The only thing that ruined that feeling was a big bed in the middle of the room. Crowley wondered why Aziraphale even had a bedroom in his bookshop if he hadn't liked sleeping, no matter how many times he encouraged him to try it.
"Here. You can sleep here," the blond said. "I know it's not your sofa but-"
"Wait, you will let me sleep in your bedroom?" Crowley asked a bit shocked. It was always him who was pushing the boundaries in their relationship but now he was surprised with the angel's offer.
Aziraphale nodded. "Well, if you insist of staying here overnight and if this makes you stop trying to discorporate Gabriel."
"Ngk."
"I'll check on you later, goodnight, Crowley." The angel smiled at his friend and walked downstairs probably to work a bit more since finally he had peace and silence.
The demon stood awkwardly in the bedroom for a bit before he changed into plain black boxers and slid under the duvet.
Tartan, he thought but wrapped himself with the fabric as tight as he could. Maybe Aziraphale wasn't really using the bed but it still smelt a lot like him which was the best part of laying on it. It almost felt like laying on the angel...
Not much time had passed before Crowley started getting really sleepy. It was probably also because Aziraphale's scent made him feel safe and comfortable. That's why, his eyes were getting heavier and heavier before they closed.
The last thing he heard was the door creaking a bit and quiet footsteps getting closer to him. He immediately knew who it was so he just laid still, waiting for what was about to happen. And something happened. A soft hand found its way to Crowley's hair and brushed it gently, making sure not to wake up the demon. Subconsciously, Crowley smiled in his sleep and moved his head more into the angel's hand,
Maybe Gabriel taking the sofa wasn't the worst thing, he thought and right after that he let himself fall asleep properly, lulled with the gentle touch on his head.
