Work Text:

Love.

It's a magical feeling.

Loving people is what makes life worth experiencing. The opportunity to experience love arises only occasionally. When someone loves, it adds interest and meaning to one’s life.

When you love someone, it's important to love them unconditionally. You embrace everything about them—their interests, hobbies, past, present, future, flaws, and everything in between. Acceptance is the foundation of love.

You cannot truly love someone if you only accept their good qualities and not their flaws. It's essential to love every aspect of them. This is what makes love such a complex and profound emotion.

If you fail to embrace every facet of your partner, can you truly claim to love them? Their flaws are an integral part of who they are, and that's who you claim to love. You should love every aspect of them, not just a part of them.

Love is a remarkable and captivating experience. Some individuals haven't fallen in love because they haven't met the right person yet, while others may not understand the true meaning of love. Not everyone has the luxury to experience love.

Love is like an explosion of fireworks, fast and sometimes fleeting. Yet, it's a beautiful display in the night sky. When love is genuine, those fireworks will illuminate the sky for as long as the love endures.

Falling in love is like exhaling after holding your breath for a long time. It's a relieving sensation, an encounter with something new, even though you’ve felt the sensation before. No matter how many times you've fallen in love, each time is different than the last.

Every person is different, and that's what makes love so extraordinary. Everyone expresses love in different ways, and not everyone thinks or acts alike. Each time you fall in love, you learn something new about the feeling. That's the beauty of love—its uniqueness.

Love is meant to be a wonderful feeling, so why does he feel miserable?

He feels giddy every time he engages in a conversation with Zhongli. Talking to him makes him excited, although he feels a tinge of nervousness. It's still an exhilarating experience.

He feels butterflies in his stomach whenever he sees Zhongli, whether in class or the halls. His stomach feels like a nest filled with fluttering butterflies.

He feels his cheeks flush as blood rushes to his face. The sight of Zhongli makes him blush intensely, creating a scarlet hue, almost maroon.

He notices how his lips curl into a smile at the mention of Zhongli. It happens subconsciously, without his awareness. Even the slightest reference to Zhongli triggers a joyful response in his mind.

He experiences daydreams about Zhongli at any given time and place. He envisions moments together, like being on a Ferris wheel, kissing under a starry night.

His heart races faster than ever when he's around Zhongli. Zhongli is the one who holds his heart. He's the person he has fallen in love with.

Beneath all this love lies misery.

“How can someone feel misery while being in love?”

He's exhausted.

He's exhausted from love.

He's exhausted of loving so deeply only to receive nothing in return.

He's exhausted of Zhongli not acknowledging him, and treating him as just another person. He doesn’t notice him like how he notices Zhongli. He doesn’t even notice him at all.

He's exhausted of Zhongli acting as if they never dated. How can someone forget the shared time they had, as if it never mattered?

He's exhausted of Zhongli disregarding the meaningful memories they shared. They were each other's firsts in many areas, and Zhongli seemed to have forgotten it all within a couple of weeks.

He's exhausted of Zhongli acting as if they were never best friends. They used to trust each other, but that trust is now lost. They were inseparable before everything changed.

He's exhausted of being discarded by Zhongli and treated as nothing more than trash. Zhongli only uses him when he's bored, and when someone better comes along, he's left alone.

He's exhausted of Zhongli dismissing his feelings. Zhongli knows he's still in love, and every time he tries to move on, Zhongli comes back, sending mixed signals.

He's exhausted of Zhongli thinking everything is fine between them after offering a half-assed apology. He knows he doesn’t mean it because if he did he wouldn’t continue making the same mistake.

He's exhausted of the stares he receives from Zhongli and his friends. Their eyes no longer radiate friendliness; instead, they express hatred.

He's exhausted of the comments made by Zhongli’s friends about him just to mock him. He's not a laughingstock to be ridiculed.

He's exhausted of how Zhongli and his friends can't keep anything confidential. If entrusted with something, one should never disclose it, even if the relationship turns sour.

He's exhausted of being watered down to “the guy that still likes Zhongli.” His whole schedule doesn't revolve around Zhongli. He has a life beyond Zhongli.

He's exhausted of Zhongli and his friends getting away with everything. It sickens him to know they have faced no consequences.

How can someone escape karma? How can they get away with their cruelty against him? Why does everyone side with them and not with him? He's the one who has suffered.

He's exhausted of the distorted narrative they have created to antagonize him. He is not the problem, but in their eyes, he is. They are incapable of taking responsibility for their actions, so he has to pay for their actions.

He's exhausted of it all.

What he felt for Zhongli might have been love at some point, but now it's fading away. The once passionate flame has diminished to a mere spark.

The negative overshadows the positive. If they've caused harm before, what's to stop them from doing it again?

But, he still loves Zhongli. The love he had for him reignites every time. He can’t get away from Zhongli and the love he feels for him.

To him, unconditional love means loving someone so deeply that even if they don't reciprocate, you still love them.

That's unconditional love to him.

He loves Zhongli unconditionally.

Although he may no longer be in love with him, his love still lingers.

But love should not feel agonizing.

Love encompasses many things, but not misery.

Sometimes, holding on does more harm than letting go.

Goodbye, Zhongli.
