The roles were cast for the play, and now the three girls couldn't wait.
For Ayako, winning the role of Juliet was pure chance, or at least that was what she thought at first. She didn't feel worthy of such a legendary role, but she remembered she had support. She had both Kaoru and Sawa by her side, even when they didn't get their desired roles.
When was the last time she had two dear loved ones by her side?
The window was open, the cool breeze a nice change from the blistering humidity of the summer.
Lying on the bed in Sawa's room, Ayako rested her head on Kaoru's shoulder, with Sawa lying down beside her. It had been a long day for them, so a quick nap was definitely what they needed.
Ayako was right in the middle of Kaoru and Sawa, her face a light pink; she was both happy and nervous, and yet she felt calm and at ease from what felt like forever.
Kaoru rested on her head on the cool pillow, what anxieties had plagued her suddenly lifted, and then faded away. She knew she did the best she could, and Ayako deserved the role of Juliet; that was enough for her.
Sawa couldn't help but yawn; she was weary from all the worry and the endless auditions. She might not have gotten the role she wanted, but knowing that she did the best she could was enough for her to rest easy.
Ayako smiled softly, and she closed her eyes, her hands entwined with both Kaoru's and Sawa's, and for the first time in a long time, she was without a care in the world.
The world would have to wait, as the three of them had time to rest, to love together.
