"Summer's on the way, but I guess you already knew that." Arisa said aloud, sitting next to Saki from the bench of the park. She couldn't help but smile at the thought, being out of the doldrums school brought, for at least a little while.
Saki nodded as she held black parasol over both of them, shielding them from the sun's bright, scalding rays. She wasn't much of a talker, but then again, neither was Arisa.
"Yes, you guessed correctly."
"Things are changing, aren't they?" Arisa asked, before she even knew what she said, but those words were in her mind for quite some time now.
The question was needless. She knew that Saki would say something, something along the lines of cryptic and profound. But, still, she nodded again..
Saki spoke once again, her voice so only Arisa could hear her. "Yes, things have begun to shift, to change for the better. The rain has brought new life, and a new beginning."
She lifted her head toward the sun through her parasol, and the blonde followed suit, curiosity getting the better of her.
"A darkness has lifted, the sun is here, and summer is just around the corner." Saki replied, and she turned her head, her eyes meeting Arisa's own. "Just like you said."
Right now, it was just the two of them, their own little world, where no one else could enter. The wind brushed past them, the smell of fragrant flowers wafting through and through.
The hush fell between the two, unparalleled for them, who were thought to have fearsome reputation. It wasn't much, but they knew their heart belonged to the other.
Arisa couldn't help the grin on her features and she then chuckled, with Saki's lips curving into a genuine smile, and then she laughed softly.
"You do have a way with words, don't you?" The blonde spoke, amusement and ease tinged in her voice, and Saki shrugged.
"It appears so, it appears so." Saki simply said, as she then rested her head on Arisa's shoulder, feeling such comfort in her presence.
For good measure, Arisa rested her head on the top of Saki's, and Saki let her do so. Their hands threaded in the space between them, and they let this moment be theirs.
