Work Text:

"Yun-Yun, how's it hanging?"

Yuki rolled his eyes at Kakeru's insipid nickname for him, as he tried to return his attention to his schoolwork. "I've been better, thanks for asking."

Kakeru shrugged. "Alrighty then, you're taking care of homework? That's great, so am I." He replied as he dropped his papers and book on one big pile on the table, a great thud breaking the silence.

Yuki grimaced for a moment, his pencil almost flying out of his hands, but he breathed in through his noise and exhaled out of his mouth. He still eyed Kakeru as the other boy sat down across from him, thumbing through the pages and taking notes with his trusty pen.

"I take it you're behind schedule?" Yuki asked, getting back to his own notes, his eyes furrowed in concentration.

Kakeru let out a small laugh. "You know me too well, Yun-Yun. I barely have enough time to sleep with these exams coming up."

Yuki didn't look up, but he nodded. "The exams are a big part of our grade, so that much I understand."

"Nah, you'll ace these exams, no sweat. I just want these to be over and done with, so I can get some sleep." Kakeru said, his voice reflective for a moment.

Yuki closed his eyes in thought, his writing paused, and then he looked up to meet Kakeru's curious gaze. "You're not the only one who feels that way, believe me."

No one said a word, a hush falling over the two, but it subsided as Kakeru smiled.

"Yeah, I believe that."

Yuki couldn't help the smile on his face, and Kakeru straightened himself up, readying his pen towards his books and notes.

"Now then, let's get to work, so we can both graduate on time and together."

Kakeru nodded. "You got it, Yun-Yun."

Yuki's eye twitched. "Don't push it."
