Zashiki-warashi didn't want to keep focusing on the negative, especially with Ame-warashi by her side. It was better to think about the good things to come, and what could be good for both the human and the spirit world.
She and Ame-warashi sat on the rocks peering out to the mountains and tall trees, observing and watching the clouds bring about the pouring rain. "It looks lovely..."
"You think this storm is lovely? Please, I've seen many like this one, and this one is no different," Ame-warashi replied, her brow furrowed and a scowl on her face.
A sudden crack of thunder erupted from the storm clouds, and then Ame-warashi stilled, squaring her shoulders as if bracing herself, as she moved closer to Zashiki-warashi.
Zashiki-warashi jumped at the sound, so she didn't mind Ame-warashi being close to her. She enjoyed their time together, especially when they were observing the human world. It was far different than the spirit world, both downright unsettling and strangely beautiful.
"I do," Zashiki-warashi said, in her very best gentle but firm voice. "The flowers will grow in the forests, and the grass will look just as lush. It will all look beautiful once the storm ends."
Ame-warashi winced for some reason, her scowl fading. "If you say so,"
Zashiki-warashi nodded, "Yes, I do say so."
Just as soon as the storm began, the tempest ended, the dark clouds moving to a destination unknown; the sky began to brighten, with the sun emerging.
Zashiki-warashi smiled softly, her eyes lit up. For her earlier sourness, Ame-warashi couldn't help but smile back.
