   Summary

   Javier’s eyes flicker open with a weak groan, pupils pinpricks against brown. Steve could cry with relief. ‘Javi? You with me, buddy?’

   It takes Javier a few tries to actually form a word. ‘Steve?’ is what he finally grits out.

   Javier slaps Steve’s arm away from his face with more force than expected from someone who was vampire fodder not five minutes earlier. ‘Steve,’ he rasps out. ‘Take out your fucking gun and shoot me right now.’
