Chapter Text
Walter had gone to 7-Eleven for milk. They had run out again - his son Mitch drank nearly a half-gallon a day, and he was only 13. Walter feared their future grocery bills.
He set the gallon of milk by the register, next to the six-pack of Mountain Dew. His guilty pleasure.
The teenage clerk reached behind him for a bright green cap with the Mountain Dew logo on it. "Free with purchase, sir."
Back in his Jeep, Walter fixed the strap of the hat to fit his head.
This would keep the open air from tangling his hair, at least.
