Work Text:
“Master! Get down from the fucking tree right now!”
“Stop calling me that!”
“Holy father of hairless scrotums. Get the fuck down before you get injured, Master!” Katsuki yelled from the ground.
Katsuki’s master shuts him up and he reflexively snaps his mouth shut before he screams again, “Your life is worth more than that ugly calico! Cats can reproduce from one to twelve kittens every birth!”
The cat on the end of the branch meows as Katsuki’s master crawls closer, hanging dangerously 10 feet above the ground.
After agonizing seconds on Katsuki’s part, the grinning boy finally has the cat securely in his hands, “Yes! I got him, Kacchan! I saved the—“
CRACK!
By then, Katsuki’s shriek is the only thing that’s heard across the garden.
“Uh oh, that doesn’t sound good—“
SNAP!
Katsuki is already right beneath his master when he drops, panic surging through his entire body as he desperately tries to catch the boy safely.
They crash into each other with Katsuki on the ground. The cat squeezes through limbs as they catch their breath and walks away uncaringly.
Katsuki scoffs in the feline’s direction, “Ungrateful brat,” before he shakes the boy on his lap by the shoulder, “Deku, you fucking dumbass. Never go around climbing trees for useless shits ever again!”
Izuku quickly begins to tear up as Katsuki’s eyes widen, “I-I’m sorry, Kacchan! I just w-wanted to make sure the cat got down s-safely.”
“Shh… Master, calm down,” Katsuki coos softly as he wipes his master’s tears gently.
Izuku sniffles lightly against the touch, “Don’t tell Mom.”
“You know I have to tell Lady Inko everything,” Katsuki mumbles.
Izuku groans, “You only do what Mom tells you to. You’re only with me ‘cause she told you to.”
“It’s not my fault I owe her my life,” Katsuki shrugs, “But I also like guarding you. She’s never made me do anything I disliked.”
Lady Inko is one of the kindest high-powered royalty Katsuki has ever known. He is already certain of this the moment she picked him up from rainy streets right after a car accident that caused both of Katsuki’s parents to lie lifeless.
With Katsuki being no more than 6 years old at that time, Lady Inko introduced the dirty, debauched boy to her tearful yet reckless son.
With his arrival to royalty, Lady Inko gave him food, shelter, and warmth.
As early as 11, Katsuki stated to her that he wants to train to become one of her guards. Lady Inko’s concerns quickly perished as she saw the raw power and skill the body of a traumatized boy had. After seeing his determination through the prodigy’s eyes, she approves of his training.
It didn’t last long for Katsuki to come out on top of all the other guards. At age 16, he’s defeated every single guard in fair spars, no matter the size. He’s as agile as wind and light as dust, yet hits like steel and throws like it’s nothing but a sack of feathers.
This accomplishment was not unseen as Lady Inko happily assigned Katsuki to be Prince Izuku’s very own bodyguard, seeing that they’d known each other for almost their entire life.
Devotion to Lady Inko is one of the reasons Katsuki takes Izuku’s well-being very seriously. A single scratch on the boy’s body would mean that he has failed as a guard to protect the one person he’s assigned to for life.
Though, this doesn’t stop him from spoiling his master a little bit.
Katsuki sighs, “But, I guess I can leave out some finer details. Like my master falling and making me scared to death,” he switches to hold Izuku’s waist as he yelps.
“T-Thanks, Kacchan! Hehe, I knew I could count on you,” Izuku laughed red, “Though, you can stop calling me that so often. So embarrassing…”
“I’ll stop saying it if you kiss me,” Katsuki's arms tighten around his waist as he sternly looks into Izuku’s eyes.
“No,” Izuku deadpanned.
Katsuki gasped dramatically, “Why not? I just saved your life, you know.”
“It wasn’t even that high—“
“That height could’ve caused a rib fracture and punctured your internal organs. You would die. Or you could’ve hit your head and injured your brain from the head trauma. You would die. Or you could’ve fractured both of your legs. You wouldn’t die but I’ll take note to kill you myself.”
“You wouldn’t.”
“Yeah, I wouldn’t,” Katsuki hugged him tighter.
Izuku can hardly breathe so he lightly hit Katsuki’s shoulder. Knowing Katsuki, he probably didn’t realize how far his strength was compared to Izuku. “If anything, you’re the one who could’ve broken my ribs from your death grip instead,” Izuku choked out.
Katsuki huffed, “I’d rather break your ribs myself than let the ground do it.”
Izuku stared at him with unmoving eyelids. His stare was so deep that Katsuki could feel something tingly in his head like something infiltrated it.
“…Just kidding.”
“Kacchan and I are going to high school?”
Lady Inko smiles as she brings her hand to pat Izuku’s head, “Yes, dear. I’ve always been scared for your well-being in public space, thus why I had you schooled at home,” she looked over at Katsuki, “But now that you have Katsuki, I think it’s safe for you to attend a normal high school like kids your age. It’s only right for you two to live freely as every teenager should.”
Izuku blinks at her, “Wait, so Kacchan is going to be with me?”
“For most of the time being. He can act as your friend and as your guard. I’d be very happy if you could stick close to him.”
Izuku groans and humps forwards, “How am I supposed to live like a normal high-schooler if Kacchan is going to follow me around.”
Lady Inko chuckles lightly, “Surely Katsuki would let you gain some friends, right?” she casts her eyes on the other boy.
Katsuki jumps before scrambling to answer, “Uh—Yes, Lady Inko! I will do everything it takes for Master Izuku to have a hundred friends!”
“A hundred seems a little bit much,” Lady Inko giggles, “I only hope for your’s and Izuku’s happiness, that’s all.”
Katsuki nods ecstatically and bows.
“No need to bow every time, Katsuki. Please feel comfortable and see me as a guardian, not a royalty to look up to.”
“A-Ah. Of course, Lady Inko,” Katsuki reflexively bows again.
Lady Inko hides her laughter with adoration in her eyes, “Go on then, off to your rooms. Don’t chat and cuddle until past midnight. Having enough sleep hours is very important to kids your age,” she laughs as Izuku scandalously gapes at her.
“M-Mom, you got that wrong. We don’t—“
Katsuki grabs Izuku’s arm and cuts him off, “Got it, Lady Inko! We won’t cuddle in too late. Good night, Your Majesty!”
Izuku fumbles to catch himself as Katsuki starts dragging him with his unnatural strength towards the double doors, “WE DON’T CU—“
The doors closing blocks out all noise but the bubbling laughter from Lady Inko’s stomach.
“Why are you in my room again?”
Katsuki flops down on Izuku’s bed and yawns, “What? I’m allowed to sleep here too.”
Izuku solemnly walks to the bed, “But you have your own room.”
“Ah, that’s for me to privately think about you.”
Izuku's neck bends sideways in confusion as Katsuki laughs at him and flails his hand, “I’m messing with you. Come here, little shit.”
Izuku sighs in defeat as he flops on top of Katsuki’s body, “You’re so overbearing about wanting to call me one thing, but then you call me other things the same day.”
Katsuki shifts so he can hold Izuku and laugh at his face, “You’re still too shy to say it yourself? How is that possible? I’ve called you master every day for almost 5 years.”
Izuku’s face flushes from touches and words as he tries his best to ignore Katsuki, “Hah… I can’t wait to make friends. I’ve never had one before that’s my age.”
Katsuki angrily pokes him on his side.
“Akh—Okay, okay. Sorry, Kacchan. You’re my friend,” Izuku beams.
“Fuckin’ right, Master. If you ever forget that, I’ll rip your limbs off.”
Izuku winced, “Please don’t.”
Katsuki smiles, “Okay,” before scooting even closer. “Kiss?”
“No.”
Katsuki shakes him lightly, “Why not?”
Izuku sighs before facing away from Katsuki, “You’re so noisy, Kacchan… Whatever, I’m sleeping.”
“Good night, princess,” Katsuki clicks the lights off and cuddles against the smaller boy’s back.
“Not… A… Princess…”
“Hey there, your highness,” Izuku’s shoved against a corner by two teenage boys he doesn’t know the names of.
Izuku tries to talk but one of the boys leans into his space and cuts him off, “Rumor has it that royalty’s in our school. You look well taken care of like a king’s daughter,” he traces Izuku’s jaw as he jerks his head away
It hasn’t even been a day and Izuku’s already in some bullies' mess.
Izuku tries to push the sneering boys away, “Stop touching me. I’m no sort of that kind.”
The taller boy grabs Izuku’s wrist harshly as he grins, “Royalty’s the richest in the country, right? You must have a lot of money from Daddy and Mommy, huh?”
Izuku sighs, “I’m not royalty. Please stop touching me.”
The other boy grins as well, “Aw, you scared?”
“Yes, I am scared,” Izuku rips his hand off the taller boy’s grip. “But not for me. I’m scared for you.”
“Hah? The fuck does that—“
It all happens in a flash as Katsuki moves like an assassin. He hits weak points and blows just enough to bruise without letting the boys pass out.
Katsuki holds the taller boy’s collar as he coughs out blood and glares at him, his eyes making him look psychotic. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing?”
Izuku winces at all the violence and carefully inches away from the corner. “Er, that’s what I meant.”
“Fuck, shit hurts like hell. How’d the hell he move like that?” the shorter one choked out.
Katsuki huffs before standing up and walking over them to Izuku, “Listen up, you shitheads. If you ever touch a single strand of hair on Mas—“
Izuku quickly clasps his hand over Katsuki’s mouth to stop him from speaking, “Izuku. Haha. He means to not hit Izuku. Because we are normal high schoolers, right?”
“Y-Yeah,” Katsuki blinks before snatching Izuku's hand away and snapping back, “Whatever. If I see you or anyone touch Izuku, I’ll rip you to shreds, hunt your family down, and make sure your bloodline won’t ever expand. Got it?” Katsuki glares.
“Fuck, sorry. Sorry, okay?” one of them grits their teeth.
“Not good enough!” Katsuki shouts. “Beg on your knees, ask Izuku for his forgiveness—“
Katsuki gets cut off when Izuku drags him out of the classroom.
Katsuki yanks off Izuku’s grips, “The fuck, Master? I wasn’t done telling them off.”
“They’re already on the ground and you’re trying to make them kneel. How am I supposed to live like a normal teenager if every single person that messes with me kneels for my forgiveness? That defeats the point of going to Yuuei in the first place,” Izuku sighs.
“This is so fuckin’ stupid, though. I leave you for less than a minute to piss and you’ve already gotten yourself surrounded. Maybe we should start sticking together for bathroom trips from now on.”
Izuku stares at him disbelievingly, “Did you miss the whole ‘live like a normal teenager’ part? I’m perfectly fine with going to the bathroom by myself, thanks. Besides, I could’ve probably just fended them off myself.”
“You’re too small and cute to do that. Just sit pretty and let me do all the work for ya.”
Izuku huffs before sighing, “It’d be better if you didn’t have any work of this sort to begin with.”
“The bullies shouldn’t have been bullies in the first place,” Katsuki sighs as well.
Izuku hums as they walk to the school gate, “Hm. I just can’t believe bullies are real. I thought they were just TV cliches.”
Katsuki deadpans, “Your Royal Highness. With all due respect, that’s fucking stupid. Don’t you know TV cliches are usually cliches because they’re common in real life?”
“Hm. I guess you’re right.”
Katsuki chuckles, “No shit. I’m always right.”
Izuku glares at him (cutely, Katsuki adds) before pinching him on his waist, “Shut up, Kacchan.”
“Augh. You know I don’t feel pain, right?” They stop in front of Yuuei’s main gate.
“Let’s see if you feel this pain,” Izuku says before he swings his arm toward Katsuki’s head.
Katsuki ducks quickly and chuckles, “Master, why are you moving in slow motion?”
Izuku makes a sound of annoyance and tries to jab him in his side before Katsuki swiftly steps back to dodge him.
“C’mon, I know you can do better than that. Are you even fuckin’ trying?”
Izuku continues to try and hit him for the next 5 minutes with Katsuki jumping and taunting the other until a familiar black car stops in front of them.
Katsuki glares at it, “Aw, it was just getting super fun.”
Izuku rolls his eyes before climbing in, “Prodigy jerk. I’ll get you one day when you least expect it.”
Katsuki grins and shoves himself next to Izuku, “I’ll be waiting for it, Master.”
“Hey, Isn’t that the prince people were talking about?”
“I can’t believe Japan’s prince finally revealed himself. Wasn’t he locked up his entire life?”
“I heard his personal bodyguard is also a student here. He follows the prince around like a dog!”
“If he’s a student here, he must also be a teenager, right? How can a teenager be a bodyguard?”
“I dunno, but he’s strong as hell. Even all the delinquents are scared of him.”
“I heard from those fellows in 1-B that he moves so fast it’s hard to even see him! Like… Like a royal assassin.”
“And he also packs one hell of a punch. People started calling him ‘Murder God’ because of that.”
“Shh… Careful, he might come to assassinate you if he hears you say that out loud.”
Turns out, rumors spread easily. And quickly.
They haven’t even gotten past the second day of school and words are already spread around about Izuku’s and Katsuki’s identity.
Whispers are scattered around the cafeteria the moment Izuku and Katsuki set foot in it. The moment they sat down at one of the long tables, everyone who sat on it before immediately stood up and left in a hurry.
Katsuki frowned and looked around the area, noticing everyone’s eyes on them. “Hah? The hell you fuckers’ staring at, huh?”
Izuku solemnly stares at his lunchbox as he mumbles, “In the end, we still couldn’t hide the truth...”
Katsuki’s still glaring around with his chopstick pointed as a threat. “I’ll kill you all if you put Izuku under any pressure! Stop staring or you’ll fuckin’ get it!”
“Eek! So that’s You-Know-Who in all his glory. So aggressive…”
“He’s so scary but devoted to the prince. Guess that’s royalty for you.”
Izuku groans before he kicks the other boy beneath the table, “Everyone might be scared of you, but it’s not like everyone will just follow what you say—“
As soon as Katsuki’s previous words have settled in all the students’ minds, the cafeteria suddenly bursts into life again. People don’t (or at least try not to) spare a glance at them anymore and continue chatting like before.
“The key to communication is to overpower all sound with your words,” Katsuki grins.
“N-No, I don’t think that’s a very good—“
Katsuki slams his hand on the table, “Whatever! Let’s eat!” and starts digging into his lunchbox.
(“Yo, Deku. Master. Izuku.”
“Hm?”
“Say ‘ahh’,” Katsuki slyly grins and holds out his tamagoyaki with his chopsticks towards Izuku’s mouth.
Izuku opens his mouth and voices ahh and waits for Katsuki to feed the egg to his mouth but he doesn’t move.
Katsuki’s frozen still.
“Uhm, Kacchan? Weren’t you going to feed me?”
Katsuki blinked at him and gave the slightest hint of a blush, “Oh, right. Sorry, I just didn’t expect you to actually do it.”
“Wha—How ridiculous, Kacchan.”
“No, c’mon. Say ‘ahh’ again, I didn’t get to feed you.”
“You missed your shot! I’m not doing that again,” Izuku pouts.)
“Kacchan, I know you’re there. You don’t need to hide,” Izuku sighs as he sits by a big tree in the school's courtyard.
He hears a grunt and a loud thump when Katsuki drops from the sky (he means the tree) with twigs and leaves in his hair and sits next to Izuku.
“Hah? How’d you know I was up there? I spent 4 months of my life training stealth,” Katsuki pouts.
Izuku grimaces at the other’s state and quickly pats Katsuki down and fishes the spare wood on his body. “And I’ve known you almost my whole life.”
Katsuki nudges him on the shoulder. “I’m not taking that as an answer. C’mon, make a serious deduction.”
Izuku deadpans, “It’s not serious… It’s just intuition.”
“Intuition? Can your intuition tell if you can’t hear or see? Or even better, can you feel my presence even if you lose all five of your senses?”
Izuku’s already tired from Katsuki’s nonsense babble and rests his head in the crook of Katsuki’s neck to rest his eyes and heavy head. “What’s wrong with you?” he mumbles.
But Katsuki’s already expecting an answer so Izuku sighs as he continues reluctantly, “Without my five senses… Probably not.”
“Hah? You can’t? No, that’s not true. We’re soulmates, I’m sure you can still sense me.”
Izuku frowns and flushes, his eyes opening a little, letting in the soft light of Japan’s afternoon glow onto his irises. “How can you be so sure? That just sounds ridiculous. It’s not like you can do it.”
“I can.”
Izuku blinks. “Huh? What do you mean you can?”
Katsuki nods, looking determined, “I can feel presence without any of my five senses.”
Izuku’s dumbfounded, “Don’t lie, Kacchan. There’s no way something as ridiculous as that actually exists. Besides, how would you even know if—“
Katsuki jumps when Izuku suddenly sits up with a serious look that almost puts his infamous glare to shame. Keyword: almost.
“Kacchan,” Izuku’s emerald eyes glow quietly against the warm hue. Katsuki can see his own reflection if he stares really hard into his— “Are they torturing you in training?”
Katsuki’s really startled now, his eyebrows raising and his eyes widening before a bubbly laugh explodes out of him.
Izuku looks annoyed as he’s trying to stop Katsuki from laughing so hard. “S-Stop laughing, it’s a good question. Why else would you be losing your five senses?”
Katsuki’s still wheezing and holding in tears as he fumbles over the grass, “H-Hah, I—pfft, I-I can’t believe you actually thought I, hah—was serious…”
Izuku’s mouth is wide open as he hits Katsuki repeatedly on his arm. “How dare you lie to your prince! You’re awful, Katsuki!”
Katsuki’s still laughing as he desperately tries to calm himself down, “How is it my fault that Master falls for the most unbelievable lies?”
“Well, it’s your fault for telling them in the first place!”
Suddenly, Katsuki’s mouth shut and he stared dead at Izuku, “But I wasn’t lying.”
The smaller boy physically felt a shiver go down his spine as he stuttered, “W-What?”
Katsuki stared at Izuku’s eyes with the eyes of an assassin, like an eagle eyeing its prey, ready to jump and snap at its unknowing victim, before he shifts into one of his sly smiles, “You believed me again, didn’t you?”
Izuku sighs (in relief) as he rolls his eyes and lies on the ground, effectively removing Katsuki from his line of vision when he closes his eyes once again. “You are so immature. I have no idea how the royal let you train in the first place.”
“That’s because I was willing to go through their endurance test every day. The removal of my five senses.”
“Stop it with your silly lie,” Izuku huffs.
“Oh, but what if I swear on God?” Katsuki smiles.
“…You’re still lying. And don’t randomly swear on God.”
Katsuki chuckles before cuddling Izuku on the grass, “See, your intuition’s getting better already, Master!”
School life is more hectic than both Izuku and Katsuki ever anticipated. Since they primarily were homeschooled, they had plenty of leisure time and could relax a lot more than stressing over exams.
Maybe it’s because they’re assigned to one of the best schools that’s known for their great discipline and brains. Their days are filled with homework, small projects, big projects, tests, exams, exams, more exams.
But overall, it feels really good to breathe and learn in a new environment for each of the two. Izuku and Katsuki usually try to be the more active of the class (with Katsuki just mostly sticking with the prince if they have to fotocopy extra worksheets).
No one tries to mess with Izuku or Katsuki anymore ever since the ‘First-Day-Ruckus’ (what the creative students of the school named it, which quickly became a term of its own for the students), and the whisperings die down.
It seems that the more Izuku and Katsuki show up, the more the crowd begins to get used to it. But not totally, royalty in the same vicinity is something no one can get used to, but Izuku appreciates the effort so—so much.
(Amongst all the peace, Katsuki just had to know the rumors about himself.
“You-Know-Who or Midoriya? Hm… They’re both cute and handsome in a way, and probably have all the money in Japan. But Midoriya is always with that guy, and You-Know-Who is batshit crazy…”
Katsuki stops walking when he overhears that weird sentence just in the classroom he’s shuffling by. Without much hesitation, he throws the sliding door open, startling the students inside.
Katsuki zeros on the two students by the door, seemingly pale from his appearance. Katsuki can almost guess why.
“What the fuck were you talking about?” Katsuki grunts.
The class is even quieter when Katsuki’s very infamous voice comes echoing across the walls.
He takes a bit of silence before he sighs, “Listen, shitheads. Since I’m in a peachy mood, I don’t feel like making myself more hated than it needs to be.”
The girl he’s speaking to audibly gulps as she tries her best to not burst out crying, “B-Bakugou-kun.”
“I do want to ask you that shit, though,” Katsuki’s voice firms. “Who’s ‘You-Know-Who’? Why the fuck is he getting compared with Izuku?”
He feels the class gape at him as the girl shakes harder, looking everywhere but at him, “Uh-uhm… About that… Haha, funny story,” she catches eye contact with her other wide-eyed classmates who frantically nod at her, “that’s, uh, what most people call you.”
Katsuki physically jerks his head back a bit, from confusion. “The fuck? I’m not some monster. I just do my job right, why can’t people just say my name like normal fucking beings?”
The girl continued when her classmates pushed her to explain, “A-ah, that’s the thing. After that First-Day-Ruckus, someone started naming you… M-Murder God… It’s really stupid and no one liked it but, people wouldn’t take any chances,” a quick cough to clear her throat, “So, p-people just stopped saying your name when you aren’t around...”
Katsuki blinks at the girl and then at the rest of the class, clearly worrying over their classmate’s life and also curious about Katsuki’s reaction.
That’s why Katsuki doesn’t do what someone called ‘Murder God’ would’ve. “That’s so fucking stupid. Just tell everyone that I don’t give a shit if you say my name or not. Just don’t be fucking weird about that shit, I’m a fuckin’ being too.”
“Just don’t mess with Izuku. I tend to take my job very seriously,” he sighs as he makes his way to the door.
Then, right before Katsuki slams the door shut, he smirks, “And don’t try to pick between Izuku and me, because we both know you’ll never get any.”
He then rants to Izuku in contained rage as the other pitifully comforts him.)
Izuku’s in a good mood when Katsuki slides into the seat next to him during dinner, “You’re in a good mood, Master.”
They’re alone in the dining hall with more humbler food (Izuku asked for it) than royals would usually eat, but Katsuki was never against humble food in the first place.
It’s still a gorgeous place, decorated with pretty paintings and a large chandelier. The dining hall is tinted with warm tones which Izuku finds calming despite its grandiose size.
Green curls bop as Izuku excitedly nods, “Yup! I got full marks on last week’s test!” he enthusiastically chomps down his omurice, not giving Katsuki a chance to ask any questions. Omurice being the humble meal.
“Awesome, Deku,” Katsuki says as he ruffles Izuku’s hair like a dog but he’s too giddy to pout about it.
“And-and, we saw not one, not two, but three puppies on the road. Did you see them, Kacchan? They were so small and fluffy and like little balls of fur—“
Katsuki sighs, “Yes, Master. I saw them. We walked home together and I was the one that had to wait for you—“
Izuku cuts him off, “I’m also happy about how people have been starting to talk to me! It’s so nice to have nice classmates who, for once, don’t run away once they see me!”
Katsuki winces, “I think that might be my fault. The whole Murder God thing. My bad.”
They chat as they both enjoy their (probably near Michelin Star) omurice with the calming quietness that is the palace.
Servants come in and out occasionally and Izuku always cheerily calls out to them, with the maids bowing and cooing for their prince before leaving with a smile (not without a quick nod of the head for Katsuki, in respect).
Katsuki scowls at Deku’s messy plate as they finish their dishes, “You’re such a fuckin’ clutz when you’re happy.”
But apparently, Izuku’s way on cloud nine to even refuge Katsuki like he usually does, instead responding in a cheery giggle, “Mhm! Hehe.”
Katsuki’s eyes narrow, “You’re a little shit, aren’t you?”
He’s expecting Izuku to playfully pout at him like he usually does, but he just giggles. “Hehe.”
“Izuku…”
“Hm?” Izuku perks up at him, “You want a kiss? Here,” and leans in to give a lightning-quick peck.
Katsuki’s brain had a short circuit. He felt his body go inevitably warmer as he tried to quiet down his thumping heart.
“D-Deku, it’s not nice to joke around about that.”
Izuku tips his head, “Huh? But you always ask for one.” Then proceeds to stand from his chair to loom over Katsuki with his hands on the other’s shoulders, “Then, we should go out. What do you say?”
Katsuki flails his arms around as he’s trying his best to comprehend his Prince of 10 years. “Wait-wait-wait. Back the fuck up here. What?”
Izuku’s composure finally breaks as he nervously scratches his cheek, face reddening and standing straighter. “W-Well, uhm, I just let you kiss me—“
He doesn’t get to go on because Katsuki lurches forward to grab his face and hold flushed cheeks, “Do you like me?”
“I- Yes, I do,” Izuku nods, “Do you?”
Katsuki narrows his eyes, “I can’t tell if you’re shitting with me or not. Do you mean it?”
“Mean what?”
“You like me.”
Izuku’s warm grin seeps into his features as Katsuki watches the pretty details of the prince. “I’ve thought about this for a long time, Kacchan. I realized th-that I might’ve liked you a lot. Since forever, actually. I feel happy and comfortable with you most of the time and honestly, there’s no one else I can possibly imagine myself with but you. So, yeah. I mean it, of course.”
They both hear heartbeats as they’re trying to not implode from the air surrounding them, both nervous and ecstatic.
“Promise?”
“Pinky promise—“
“On God?”
“On God— Wait, you can’t just say ‘On God’ randomly again—“
Katsuki lurches forward, bringing the startled face he’s holding to him.
The kiss is sweet and short before they hear some of the maids giggling right on the other side of the dining hall door.
“OI! We can fucking hear you, Shirogane-san!”
A couple of sounds of laughter and panic seep from the door gaps as they slowly crawl out of the vicinity.
Katsuki focused back on Izuku with right hand squeezing Izuku’s face by the cheeks and swaying it around. “You’re not drunk or something, are you? You know we’re underaged and it’s very dangerous to—“
“I’m not drunk, Katsuki,” Izuku huffs. “I like you.”
Katsuki is the one that suddenly feels drunk as he cups Izuku’s face gently this time. “Master… Prince, say that again.”
Face flushing even more, “I like you,” Izuku manages with a stutter.
“Again.”
“I like you,” with a little more confidence.
“Again.”
“I like you,” with a tinge of deadpan.
“Once more!”
“I like you!” repetition fills you with determination!
“From the top!”
“I LIKE YOU, YOU JERK!” his voice bounces around the bad acoustics of the dining hall as he huffs. Katsuki’s heart physically hurts from adoration from every confession.
Katsuki’s grin is bigger than ever as he pulls the smaller boy onto his lap and nuzzles against him. “Hehe. Thanks, little shit.”
“You’re not even gonna say it back?!” Izuku sputters.
“Is my ‘like’ not fucking obvious enough? Is that why you need confirmation?” he grins.
Izuku narrows his eyes in his flushed state and softly smacks Katsuki by his head, before digging his hand into the surprisingly soft hair.
Katsuki manages to cut whatever he’s trying to say, “I like you. Fuck, I like you so much. You’re too fucking pretty that I wanted to sign up just so I can safeguard that smile. You’re too goody two shoes for your own sake, like your mom. My life is indebted to both of you, because you accepted me and thought no different of me even though I was built like a wet animal at the time.
Katsuki lifts his head from Izuku’s shoulder to gaze at him, “Thank you for liking me back. Thank you, thank you…” Izuku giggles and urges him to kiss again.
“But…” Katsuki laughs as Izuku looks worried by his tone. “I’ll make it super obvious so no one will doubt my feelings for you.”
“I saw You-Kn—Ehem, Bakugou coddle and shoulder Midoriya the entire way to school. Midoriya usually tries to push him away but he just takes it. Is he getting threatened?”
“Shut up, this isn’t a fantasy novel. Maybe Midoriya’s just too tired to push him off, he did get top grades in the school after all.”
“Maybe they’re dating.”
“…”
“Haha, funny. The Prince and his Bodyguard. That sounds like a mediocre hentai title. This isn’t a romance novel either.”
“Then, why are they always together 99% of the time?”
“Because that’s what bodyguards do! Do you know what you’re saying?”
“Okay. But, he was calling him, like, ‘my prince’ and everything?”
“He’s the bodyguard of the prince! That makes him ‘his’ prince! What more?”
“Okay, take this, hot shot. Is kissing your prince on the lips in the classroom also something a bodyguard would do?”
“That’s ‘cause—HE WHAT?”
