Chapter 1: Cardcaptor!?

Chapter Text

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEE-

Quackity slapped the button of his clock, five more minutes...

-30 minutes later-

7:20

"ACK!" Quackity tumbled off his bed with a thud.

He’d sit there and groan, but now wasn’t the time to sit on the floor! Quackity was gonna be late if he didn't hurry.

He quickly changed into a t-shirt and shorts.

Soon he was in the bathroom and quickly brushing his teeth. The spicy mint taste clung to his tongue as he slipped on his socks and high-top shoes.

Quackity had almost ran out the door when he remembered his beanie that he’d promised himself to wear everyday. Finally Quackity was out the door and on his bike. He rode down the street slowly, waiting when… finally!

Pastel pink hair came into his sight.

"Hi Techno!" Quackity quickly greeted.

"Hey kid." The older boy ruffled Quackitys hair, messing up his beanie. "Hows your father?" Techno asked.

"Business. Again..."

Techno nodded before they continued to ride together in silence.

Quackity loved these moments, even when there wasn't an active conversation, Techno was amazing!

"You good kid? Your face is all red."

"Huh!?" Quackity quickly shook his head. "I'M FINE! Just, hot day is all!"

Techno eyed him then shrugged. "Welp, bye" Aww, guess they were already at the high school.

"Bye Techno!"

Quackity continued to ride down the street, the sweet smell of cherry blossoms cascaded and overtook his senses. Finally Quackity rode into L'manberg Middle school. He locked his bike in before...

"Well, hello Quackity."

Shit.

Wilbur soot . Technoblades british, shithead, brother. Him and Wilbur had a feud spanning all the way to the third grade. Wilbur had copied Quackitys writing assignment and had got them both in trouble. They had been one-upping each other since. With harmless pranks, to thumbtacks on seats. (Luckily Quackity looks at his seat before he sits down)

"Hello Wilbur!" His words laced with faux glee.

"Hey! Would you like to see this picture I took earlier?" Wilburs words were sickly sweet, as usual.

Master manipulator of a twelve year old.

“Sure.."

Wilbur took a camcorder from his tote bag, he fiddled with the buttons for a bit before holding it up to Quackity.

It was him... red in the face, riding with Technoblade. Eyes glittering at the older, like he was in some anime.

"GIMME THAT!" Quackity tried to grab the camera from Wilbur, who simply held it high above his head. "No, I don't think I will." A smug expression was painted across Wilburs stupidly annoying face.

"Fuck you Soot." Quackity scowled at Wilbur with his best attempt at intimidation.

"Farewell Ducky!" Ugh, that stupid name. Wilbur walked away with a smirk. "HEY! HOW DID YOU EVEN GET THAT!?" Wilbur looked back. "My bus was at a stoplight, and I saw you!"

The rest of the day was fine, gym wasn't to bad, and math was well, math. But besides that, the day was decent at best. Finally after the day was done, he waved his goodbyes to Sapnap and Karl, and rode to his home. He resigned himself to watching the T.V. Soon though, the sun was setting and his phone buzzed. Quackity picked up the phone and was met with the voice of his father.

"Quackity?"

"Yeah. dad?"

"Would you mind cleaning up my study?" Quackity sighed before responding.

"Yeah, sure."

"Thank you! I'll see you Wednesday night I think, We could go out to eat!"

"Sounds good dad."

Then Quackity hung up. Guess he now had some work to do.

Quackity gathered up the cleaning suplies; A mop, a bucket, soap, and a duster.

Quackity pulled the big plastic yellow gloves up his arms.

His fathers study was large, and strangely maze like. A labriynth was built with large book cases, though it was a simple spiral until an expansive area in the middle housing a small desk, papers were scattered about its surface.

First, Quackity dusted the book shelves which was INCREDIBLY needed. The dust tickled his nose, making him sneeze. After that, he filled his bucket with water and lemony soap. Quackity was quick, after a few minutes he was finished. Now though, he was backed into the middle of the study.

Might as well read something I guess.

Quackity ran his hand over the book spines, looking for something interesting, he eventually decided on one with a golden spine, "The Clow" he read aloud.

Good enough.

Quackity carefully pulled down the heavy book, needing to stand on his tiptoes to reach it. But, Quackity dropped the book and it landed with a hard thud. "Fuck!" Quackity tumbled down before hitting the floor. He looked around, Yugioh-like cards were scattered across the floor, he picked one up and read it. "The windy?" Suddenly there was a flash of light, before a strong gust of wind made them fly away.

…How did wind get inside?

After regaining his senses, Quackity turned his attention to the book, now sitting on top of it was what looked like a small lion cub plush. Connected to its shoulders were tiny wings. The little thing had a long, thin tail. On the tail’s end was a small puff ball. It was cute!

There was a small, high groan, higher than Quackitys own.

The voice hummed… And it was coming from…

….The plush.

The weird (maybe not?) plushy looked up at Quackity.

"Greetings! I'm Keroberos, beast of the cards! You?"

"Uuh" Quackity was not told what to do if the stranger was a plushy.

"...What are you?" Quackity picked up the plu- Keroberos, he poked and prodded the little guy.

"AH! HEY KID! Stop it!" Keroberos wriggled out of his grasp. "Don’t be a jerk, I have cards to kee- ... Wait!? Where are the cards!?" Keroberos, who he now decided to call Kero, looked around wildly.

"The cards? Oh! Well, I dropped the book… I looked and there was a card called “The Windy” and I was like “The Windy? Fuck is that?” But when I said it, everything kinda… Flew away in a big light.”

Kero stared at Quackity with an intensity you wouldn’t think possible of those beady little eyes before starting to talk, voice exasperated and rushed. "UUUUUGH, ok kid, YOU are gonna help catch those cards!"

Q scooted away. "Why me!?"

Kero eyed him. "You're the one who caused this!"

He franticly shook his head. "Can't you just… get someone else to do it…?"

Kero sighed. "You made them fly off, that means you have magic. No one else. Just little old you."

"Magic?"

Kero shook his tiny head. "Yep"

"Do I really have to?" Quackity asked, voice dripping with annoyance.

"Mhm! Now, lets go!" Kero replied in a mockingly cheery voice.

"Wait, what even are the cards?" Quackity asked.

"Oh, yeah." Kero cleared his throat. "The Clow cards. When the Seal on them is broken, a catastrophe will befall this world. These cards were special cards made by an amazing sorcerer named Clow Reed. Each card is alive and possesses incredible power. But they all like acting on their own, and normal forces are no match for them. So Clow himself created this book, and placed me, the Beast of the Seal, on the cover. In any case, we have to get the cards back. So you’re coming with me!"

Quackity sighed after the monolouge. "Fine... just let me put on my shoes."

Kero nodded before flying up.

After a few minutes, Quackity was about to step out the door.

"Ok, wait." Said Kero.

"Hm?"

Kero pointed to a spot on the ground. “Stand here."

He complied and climbed off his bike to stand on the spot.

”What’s your name?” Kero asked.

“Quackity?” *He replied, raising a brow.

A bright light surrounds Quackity, beautifully intricate patterns fill the shape.

"Key of the seal," A small key floated towards Quackity. "There is someone wishing for a contract with you. A boy. His name is Quackity. Oh key, grant him the power! RELEASE!"

Suddenly the key grew into a pink staff, at its end was something shaped like a birds head, on both sides of it were white wings. After a moment Quackity grabbed it. "Alright! A Cardcaptor is born!"

"Cardcaptor!?"

"Ye-" Kero was interrupted by the door suddenly flying open, a strong wind made Quackitys beanie fly off his head. He quickly attempted to shut the door before Kero stopped him.

"Wait! Look!" Kero instructed.

Quackity looked up to see a large bird in the sky. "THE HELL IS THAT!?" He yelled over the wind.

"A Clow Card! The Fly Card it looks like!" Kero quickly answered.

"Holy shit..." Quackity muttered.

"No time to be impressed! This is the first job for Cardcaptor-Quackity!"

"NEVER AGREED TO THAT KERO!" Before the two could continue, another gust of wind hit the two.

Then they were off! The brisk night air pushing against Quackitys face, Kero sat in his bike basket as they followed the giant bird. "How am I supposed to catch that thing!?"

Kero scoffed. "Stop acting like such a twerp!"

"Easy for you to say!" Quackity replied.

"Ok, Quackity! Magic time! The Fly Card is a wind card! You can catch it with the windy card!" The plushy explains.

"Ok?"

"We gotta get closer though" Quackity groaned before picking up speed.

The large bird swooped over Quackitys head. "What do I do!? It's swooping me!" The bird attempted to hit Quackity again, he was just barely able to dodge it.

"Ok! I have an idea! Kero, you might wanna get off the bike!" The smaller nodded with a confused expression before getting off.

Quackity took a deep breath before racing towards a large slant, at full speed, he raced up, flying into the air.

I really hope this works!

Quackity let go of the bike, and flung himself onto the birds back. "HOLY SHIT IT WORKED!"

"Looks like it!" Keros small voice rang from below.

"Ok! Uhhh? Oh yeah!" Quackity pulled The Windy from his pocket and touched it to his staff.

"Wind, become a binding chain, WINDY!"

Suddenly, a clear woman in a flowy white dress wrapped around the bird. Fly fell to the ground, Quackity jumped off of it before the glowing circle surrounded the bird.

"Return to the guise that you were meant to be in! Clow Card!" Quackity raised the staff above his head, as he lowered it, Fly contorted and flattened before there was a bright light. Then Fly, and Windy were gone. What was left was The Fly and Windy cards in his hands.

"DIOS MIO. I THOUGHT I WAS GONNA DIE."Quakity yelled out, Kero simply giggled. "Get used to it Cardcaptor!"

"Hey!" after Quackity caught his breath he spoke. "So, what now?"

"Try it out, why don'tcha!" Quackity nodded, and tapped the staff to the card, suddenly the tiny wings grew to an enormous size. "Hop on kid!" And Quackity did, after a moment they were in the air. Wind batted across Quackitys face, the feeling was amazing... "Well, Kero. This is nice." Kero nodded.

" I think I'll enjoy working with you Cardcaptor Quackity!"

"I NEVER AGREED TO THAT!"
