"Oh, Akira's back!" Morgana says, his freakishly good cat ears noticing Akira approaching long before Ryuji hears his key in the lock.
Without thinking, Ryuji stands up, wandering out into the hallway to greet his boyfriend. Ann follows too, with Morgana hitching a ride on Ann's shoulder. They find Akira shrugging off his shoes, bending down to put them neatly by the door (unlike Ryuji and Ann, who tend to leave their shoes strewn across the floor).
"Hey, man," Ryuji says, leaning against the wall.
"Akira!" Ann says, beaming.
"Hi," Akira says, always a man of few words. He straightens up, turning to face them.
And Ryuji just stares at him. He knew that Akira went out to pick up his new glasses, but he had no idea what those glasses would look like. And he had no clue that his boyfriend would look so stunningly handsome with his new glasses on his face. Ryuji opens his mouth to compliment Akira, but he can't seem to find his words, his brain short-circuiting as his cheeks flush. Beside him, Ann seems to have the exact same problem.
"Guys?" Akira says, looking between his blushing partners. He glances at Morgana, tilting his head as if to say, "What's wrong with them?”
Morgana looks between the three humans, giggling a cheeky laugh. "Ohhhh... I get it. They're so infatuated with you that they don't know what to say."
"Really?" Akira scratches the back of his neck, glancing away bashfully. "Why, though?"
And it's that hint of self-consciousness in his boyfriend's tone that finally makes Ryuji snap out of it. Hurrying over to Akira, he puts his hands on his boyfriend's shoulders and says, "'Cause your new glasses look fucking amazin’, man."
"He's right," Ann says. "You look even better than usual."
"Really?" Akira mumbles, his own cheeks glowing red.
"Really," Ryuji says, hooking his arm around Akira's shoulders and pulling him in for a hug.
