Work Text:
Pearl honestly never thought she’d see Scott actually getting along with a dog, but right now she’s being proven wrong.
“I love him,” Scott repeats for what must be the seventh or eighth time. The puppy that he chose, after much deliberation, sits snugly against his chest in a cradling hold, half-asleep and with its tongue sticking out. “Pearl. Pearl, look. He’s sleeping.”
“Yes, mate, I can see that.”
“He’s so tiny! Oh, the citizens are gonna love him. We’ll have to learn Dog, of course - or at least I will. Should I be raising him bilingual?”
Pearl just laughs.
