Chapter Text
Jersey city, the Khan residence;
As the khan’s walked up the steps of their front porch and cautiously opened the door to their house they were unsure of what to expect. Having spent a few days at carol’s unable to focus on the clean up, mostly if anything they expected a mess, but when they finally opened the door, they found… the house look good as new or the same as it always had as though it had never been touched, the same oak chairs and colorful pillows, everything normal, the same, the khan home sweet home.
“Ahh everything looks the same beti, un touched” Her mom chimed out in content awe
“It’s amazing” her father stated
Kamala took in a great sigh of relief taking in the homely state of their abode
“Hey yo, the fridge is even stocked up” her brother called from the kitchen.
“There’s a note here for you” her mother handed her the note.
Dear Ms. Marvel, I hope you don’t mind I took the liberty of having damage control come by and fix your place up for you while you were away a few days, figured it was the least we could do after everything.. You did good kid,
Signed, Director Fury.
Kamala grinned from ear to ear. ‘I have Nick Fury’s autograph!’
For a moment she looked as though she might explode in excitement but then in exhaustion from the last few days she flopped down on the couch landing with a yelp as she realised she’s sat on something between the couch cushions. She retrieved the item; Monica’s iPad device, her eyes widened in awe as she began scrolling through, a grin begging to form, before;
“Yes, yes amazing, this is perfect” she exclaimed darting up the stairs.
“Everything okay beti”
“Yes Ammi, I’ll, I’ll just be upstairs”
Kamala slammed her door shut and threw herself down on too her Office hair, and grabbing a pen and paper she began aggressively scribbling.
The new avengers initiative
But unsatisfied she began scribbling out the word new, replacing it with….young
The young avengers initiative!
Kamala grinned with uncontrollable excitement.
New York City, one week later;
As Kate Bishop clambered to place her keys in her door her fingers tired from a night of shooting arrows on her nightly patrol, her body ached for a cold compress, hot chocolate, cuddles with lucky and finally oh finally.. her bed. So it was safe to say when she noticed the shadowy figure stood in her apartment as she opened the door, she was..well lets say past over it and just as she was about to shout out to Yelena that she was too tired today for her breaking in antics, the figure stepped into the light revealing not to be Yelena but a young girl who looked as though she should still be in middle school, well too kate at least. Kate’s face faltered a little almost taken aback.
“Can I help you?” Kate let out rather casually, now well used her apartment often being a hub of breaking in activity by others in the super heroing community.
“Kate bishop did you think you were the only kid superhero in the world”
“Well I’m twenty three”
“Oh I know, I’ve been reading up on you” Kamala pulled out a holographic pad.
kate noticed her face immediately on the file and she furrowed her eyebrows in response.
“Where’d you get that?”
“I found it in my couch”
“Okay”
“You’ve just become part of a much larger universe’ Kamala stated with such a gravitas that can only be achieved when a speech is well rehearsed.
“which at the moment is just me, but I’ve got some feelers out there, did you know ant man had a daughter?” Kamala continued but now more rambly, the cracks forming in her serious demeanor as she was unable to contain her excitement at the prospect of building a team.
“What do you want?”
“I’m putting together a team, and I want you on it………. please”
Kate took a moment, taking in the eagerness of the even younger hero, then….. smiled.
