Work Text:
Kaveh sits down for dinner with the others, happy they're all present, then stops, covering his mouth.
"Do you not like it?" Tighnari asks softly.
"I'd love to try it but..." Kaveh pauses, gagging, "just the smell is making me sick..."
"I suppose your morning sickness had turned into evening sickness?" Cyno hums.
The other three stare at him, Kaveh still holding his mouth.
"Because it's not morning anymore?"
"We got it..." Tighnari groans.
"I really don't think Kaveh is in the mood for jokes," Alhaitham adds.
"I think that pun made it worse...I'm going to go lay down..."
Tighnari and Cyno are setting up the baby's room while Kaveh supervises.
"If we put the crib over there we could leave the door open at night and hear them, but they won't get too cold," Kaveh directs.
Tighnari nods, lifting his side of the crib.
Cyno nods, lifting his side too, "We'd probably want to keep the baby at around womb temperature for the first while."
Tighnari glares, not moving anymore.
"Get it? Because-"
"We got it...it just wasn't funny," Kaveh sighs.
"Now do you want to do this alone or are you done?"
Cyno pouts, "I'm done..."
"I'm so tired," Kaveh whines, resting his head on Cyno's shoulder.
"Body building is hard work, I'm sure," Cyno hums, petting Kaveh's hair gently.
"What?"
"It's a joke. Because you're developing a baby? Building their body? It's a play on the sport of body building...but obviously you can't participate in that while you're six months pregnant..."
"I'm going to throw up and it's going to be all your fault," Kaveh whines, pushing off of Cyno and moving to climb in Alhaitham's lap instead.
"Alhaitham, you got it, right?"
"I suppose? But it's not funny," Alhaitham shakes his head, unamused.
"Madame Faruzan is sold that we're having a girl," Kaveh hums.
"I'm positive they're a boy," Tighnari argues.
"Does it really matter?" Alhaitham inquires, "I'd be more concerned about weather or not it's going to be healthy."
"I hope? Kaveh's been well, and he gave up drinking to make sure they'd be healthy," Tighnari mumbles.
"That should be what matters most," Cyno nods, "But, I do have a prediction for what they're going to be."
The others all turn to him.
"I have utmost confidence that when they're born...they will be a baby."
Tighnari throws a pillow at Cyno.
