Work Text:
It was New Year's day and Soap had woken up with Simon plastered to his back. Soap was having a lot of fun last night being put on pyrotechnics. Bonus points for the amazing midnight kiss from the love of his life. However, he was far too hung over with far too little sleep to be anything but miserable.
Movement paused his train of thought. Simon was stirring. “Good morning love.” Ghost greeted with a kiss. Soap returned it easily, but then Simon spoke again. “Haven't talked to you since last year.” Soap groaned. “Dinae ye dare!” Soap groused.
Soap could feel Simon's smile grow from where his lips were pressed to his neck. With that, they started their morning.
Once in the mess hall for breakfast and after they sat with food in hand. Gaz, Roach, and Price joined them. Ghost was the first to speak, “Aven't talked to you’s since last year.” Soap groaned loudly, putting his head in his hands. Price chuckled, Gaz cackled, and Roach was shaking with silent wheezes.
“DINNA ENCOURAGE IM’!” Soap wined. That just made the team laugh harder. Soap looked miserable.
Later in the day Alejandro and Rudy visited; they meant to come a week before but got caught up in a mission. The same with Alex and Farah who were going to be on base in the next few hours.
As soon as their Mexican friends touched down the 141 were quick to meet then halfway. “Alejandro, Rudolfo.” Price greeted them warmly and Ghost stepped up next, “We aven't seen you since last year.” He sounded smug, and Soap growled, “STOP MAKING THAT JOKE SI I SWEAR TAE GOD!” Alejandro and Rudy shared a look before bursting Into laughter.
“He's been doing it all day.” Price explained while laughing at the whole scene. “Sí figured as much” Alejandro answered while he held onto his husband.
They had a good lunch together and caught up with their lives.

Alex, Farah, and Nikolai appeared near supper. As Nik got out of the helicopter the 141 and the los vaqueros were quick to welcome them.
Soap was glaring at Ghost who seemed far too pleased with himself. Ghost’s mask shifted indicating he was about to speak, but Soap beat him to it. “Dinna ye dare.” It's a warning. Ghost however doesn't heed it as he speaks. “Aven't talked to you's since last year.” the gathered group minus the newcomers who have been trying not to laugh up until this point lose it.
All except for Soap who just started screaming Scottish profanities at him at full volume. Ghost for his part looked unfazed.
The other gathered group was stuck between laughter and concern however the laughter was winning out.

Screaming there was screaming. The gathered recruits look to one another and confusion before looking toward the source of the noise. Sergeant Soap MacTavish was just screaming at the Ghost.
“Uhhh has Sergeant Soap lost the plot?” One asked, and another shot back. “How is he not dead!?” Yet another was just shaking, “I don't want him to scream at us like that”
