He didn’t know when it happened, but apparently he had started to doze off. He was only awoken by urgent yelling in his ear. His brain wasn’t focusing on the yelling in his ear, he was only focused on how he had literally fallen asleep. What was wrong with him? Falling asleep on the job?
“—L.T, do you copy?”
Soap exclaimed frantically.
Ghost was confused on why he suddenly sounded so frantic, there was no way he had been asleep that long to the point the sergeant was already worried for him.
“Solid, sergeant—“
“Get out of there!”
Soap urged suddenly, the confusion in Ghost's head only growing larger. He had dozed off for what he hoped was only mere seconds and now Soap is urging for him to leave the building. He began to get up despite the confusion.

“Simon!”
Reality finally made its way into his mind. Right, he was in the middle of a debriefing. Shit. His eyes felt wet, he blinked a few times realizing a stream of tears had flowed from his eyes without him even knowing.
He looked up and realized Price was staring at him with concern painted all over his face, he let out a sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“I thought you’d be ready for a mission by now.”

He grabbed his rifle and held it tight in his hands, he didn’t know why he felt this sense of caution when it was a familiar voice speaking to him. A voice he had grown to trust and knew cared for him. But now it made him feel anxious and unsettled.
He looked around, he didn’t see anything as he heard the voice call again.
“Johnny”
He gulped as he took a step from the room, it was hesitant and had a slight tremor to it but kept taking slow steps until the room that had been untouched came into view. The one down the hallway.
He stared down it, his gun pointing directly at the door.
The now opened door.

Summary
The air grows colder. Dampness clings to his clothes, seeps into his shoes. The floor narrows, the slope sharpening just enough that they start watching their footing more carefully. The cave doesn’t feel hostile, exactly, but it does feel aware, like it’s paying attention now that they’ve committed.
“Watch your head,” someone mutters as the ceiling dips.
Avery ducks automatically, glow flaring brighter for a moment before he reins it in. The passage pinches inward, walls drawing closer until shoulders brush stone if you aren’t careful. He can still stretch his arms out, still turn around without too much trouble, but the space has changed. It presses. It asks things of them.
They laugh it off. Someone makes a joke about being eaten alive. Someone else tells them to shut up.

"Avery blinked at the bloody handwriting, trying to wrap his head around each word.

He mumbled, confused.First off, this person had terrible grammer.
Durn, ATt, corassroads?
He wanted to laugh and mock the person but the blood and the message made things more tense. Less room to crack a joke.
Clearly the person was in a rush.
And clearly, this was a warning..."Or
Avery finds the mine and book and decides to not adventure further! Until he gets curious and does some snooping around only to find a wounded knight barely breathing and alive. Avery then makes the decision to take care of this stranger until they're stable... Which will be in a long while.
The two then begin to bond, form some feelings with one another however an almost omnipotent being gets in the way of everything.Bookmarked by Veil_isGone
