Work Text:
Gojo, Geto, and Ieiri walked towards the black car, Ijichi waiting to take them back after their mission. “I think I’ll stay here,” says Shoko. “Catch up on some shopping and whatnot.”
Gojo shrugs, “Yeah, same I think!” Geto pokes his infinity, “Yeah you just want some sweets.”
Gojo pokes his tongue out at him and Shoko watches the two, a smile on her face. “So you coming with Geto?”
Geto sighs, “Nah, I don’t have the energy for anything right now.” He hops into the car, “You two can go have fun though.”
“Gotcha!” Gojo smiles at his friend as he drives off. He turns back around and Shoko is already walking away. “Huh? I thought we were going shopping together?”
Shoko doesn’t turn around. Gojo has some serious puppy-eyes. “Nah, you want sweets, I want cigarettes and dresses.” She waves him goodbye and they spit off.

Shoko lights the cigarette in her mouth, waling along the sidewalk with he bags in her arms, when she feels a person tap her shoulder. She turns around.
“I saw you talking to Rei.” She says. She has glasses and dark brown hair, done up into a ponytail. “I was wondering if I could speak to you about him.”
Shoko glances at the girl, “Who is Rei? And who are you?”
The girl stares. “Sorry. I’m Sasaki, and Rei is the white-haired guy you were talking to…?”
“Oh you mean Gojo!” She smiles at Sasaki, “Sure, theres a cafe across the street. Let me call Geto, he knows Gojo better.”
Sasaki smiles, “Thank you.”
…
“So what did you want to talk about?” Geto, Shoko and Sasaki sat at a booth in the cafe.
Sasaki smiles gently, “Well, an incedent happened at school earlier this year and Rei—er, Gojo had to move up to Kyoto to live with his Uncle.” She poked at the cake she had gotten herself, “He just seemed so sad last we spoke, I wanted to know if—“
Shoko’s sigh inturrupted her. “Oh you’re just an old friend.”
Geto smiled, “We thought you might’ve had a crush on him.”
“Oh no, Gojo is far too silly for that!” She chuckled, “Although he was always getting love confessions for the short time he was at school.”
They sit there for a while after that, nothing happening. Then Geto speaks up. “Gojo’s family wasn’t really good to him, so you may find he’s a bit different now… that is if you wanted to speak to him.”
Sasaki smiles sadly, her eyes becoming dull, “I thought so with the way he was acting at the hospital.” She paused, “Is that why he goes by ‘Gojo’ now, to distance himslef from his family?”
Shoko shook her head, “Nah, its his family name. Rei isn’t.”
“He went by his mother’s name before.” Geto expanded. “But when Fushiguro-sensei took him to his Uncle’s they changed it.”
“Oh.” Sasaki frowned, “Well, at least he’s away now.”
Ieiri nodded. She pulled out her phone. “I’ll text him to come here now.” She smiled, “It’ll be a nice reunion.”
Shoko: hey
Satotu: whats up
Shoko: [cafe link]
Shoko: come here
Satoru: fine
Shoko put her phone away, and smiled to Sasaki, “He shouldn’t be long.”
Sasaki laughed, “I think you put too much faith in him, he was always late—“
The door jingled and Satoru walked in, “Hey!” He speed-walked over to the trio, “I’m here to grace you with my presence!”
Geto rolled his eyes and pushed Satoru aside, “Whatever, you’r here, so I can leave.”
“Aww but Geto~” he pouted, “I don’t wanna be alone with Shoko! I might catch some dead-people disease!”
Geto sighed, “No you wont.” He payed for himself and left.
Satoru sat down next to shoko and finally glanced across from them, “Sasaki?” He asked, “What are you doing here?”
Sasaki rubbed the back of her neck nervously, “I was in Tokyo and I saw you around, thought we could catch up.”
Satoru smiled, “Sure!” He leaned across the table, “Why don’t we go for a walk in that park nearby?” He grabbed her hand and pulled her up, “Sitting around all the time is bad for your legs!”
Sasaki smiled at him, “Sure… so how is school?”
