Loid was now in his late 30’s, about to turn 40 and now had retired and lived life alone in a brand new city that was filled with the latest technology and people bustling every place which Loid liked, it made up with the lack of life he gets when he’s at home but today, Loid wanted to celebrate a very special day and needed to think. The city is a place loid can’t think at all so he headed to the park.
Now a days no one goes to the park in this heat but also in general as people have found other enjoyments like phones and arcades but Loid knew a park would be best for this occasion as he walked alone in the cobblestone path with the tree lined path ahead of him as the gaps and tiny spots of sunlight landed on the pathway. It was hot but loid didn’t sweat and had this solemn expression on his face as he looked up at the sunlight and thought
He thought of that family
The mission and that fake family he forged by hand and yet was the most special and most beautiful and precious memories he had and the only one he had as it was gone. Loid can’t help but think what is going on with everyone now.
What is going on with those blonde boys in Eden? And Becky Blackwell? Damian Desmond, Yuri Brair, the gossiping neighbors, master Henderson. Basically everyone but he then stopped as he remembered those two.
Yor and Anya.
He wanted to know and see them both doing good. He wants to know everything he can after those years like if Yor is married, or is she still an assassin, he wanted to know if her smile which was as bright and cute as the sun was still stuck on her face and wanted to know if she was still as strong as she was before. Yor was just this ball of happiness Loid had missed in his life but then a thought came up
“I wonder… how Anya is…”
He said, just the thought of her name in all honesty can bring Loid into tears as he remembered that little girl who was attached to him and somehow managed to fool him to adopting her. Her strange little habits and sayings to ever her strange hair color which was a pink you can only see in the sky when the sun shines upon it and her little troublesome ways
He thought of her constantly
She was his favorite part of the day and night when the forgers were here, seeing her smile made him just want to cry and protect her with the remaining strength he has and how much she changed his life for the better. He really had never felt such attachment that it aches him and his heart was just tearing apart as he looked up at the sun shining.
“Oh Anya… I’m sorry”
He said. He would never forgive himself for leaving Anya in the orphanage again with that drunk and unstable guy, he regretted it with all his heart as he saw her bright and energetic young self grow dark and depressed when he left her. He went back many times to the orphanage but she was already gone without a trace to probably live on with a new family.
‘She must be in high school now, freshman maybe’ Loid thought as he thought of how time moves so quickly as today is the day he would grow to remember for the rest of his life
The day he found Anya, and the day he abandoned her
