Summary
Levi couldn’t prepare anymore than he already had. It was time to summon a devil.
As if it were a spell he had done a thousand times, Levi spoke the incantation to summon a devil. He walked counter-clockwise around the sigil, his steps practiced and methodical. He worked slowly and spoke confidently, the lines of the sigil hummed with energy, he could feel them pulsing and burning. As he spoke the last words he came to an intentional hard stop at the southern point.
And nothing happened.
A pricking sensation tickled the back of his neck and he felt the hairs there stand on end. He felt the heavy weight of something’s gaze. Levi clenched his jaw and looked up.
Standing in the middle of a sigil was a very tall being. His eyes were completely black and flat. His high cheekbones and boxy jaw were jagged lines so sharp Levi wondered if he ran his finger against his face if he’d bleed. In fact, his entire face was made of sharp lines and angles, save for his full lips. He had bushy, dark blonde eyebrows and just above them protruding from his forehead were two scaly, black horns. Dusting the top of his forehead and falling between his horns was a head of thick, shiny golden hair.
