Chapter Text
‘Do you like the rainbow? Do you like the idea of playing with berry Sims but hate berry Sims? Do you want to mess around with aspects of the game you’ve never used before? Boy, do I have the challenge for you!
Welcome to the Not So Berry Legacy Challenge, a ten generation legacy with a focus on bright colors and new experiences.’
A challenge that I have tackled.
I have been a sims player for almost five years now. It’s my hobby when I’m not writing or dancing. Or working my 9 to 5.
And let’s just say, this might be one of my favorite legacy challenge saves… ever. That I’ve done. It led to some absolutely chaotic life stories that’s stolen my heart.
So I decided to share it. Not that I think anybody will care.
So for each chapter, I’m going to explain the life story of every one of my Not So Berry Heirs, from birth to death.
Why? Cause there’s almost always the case where I’ve been stuck working on two gens at once, and I think this is a better method of explaining the gens life.
If you guys want, I’ll turn the events of my gameplay into a more cohesive story. For now though, here’s me gushing about a fictional family tree and their stories.
My goal with this challenge was not only to do the requirements set up, but also tell a very cohesive story of character arcs in each gens run.
And also spread chaos, cause you know, the first heir is literally a chief of mischief.
I also did my own variation of the challenge to make my own by having each heir have a cat sidekick. That ALSO have the color scheme of that gen.
I’m a cat person what can I say?
I customized a family tree in Family Echo - My Family to give you guys a good preview on what’s happened. And to help me out cause the in game family tree is pretty unreliable in my opinion, and I wanted a concrete tree so I didn’t accidentally date someone in the tree in a future gen.
I also added some of my own custom characters in the game to act as friends or potential relationships, including the sim kids of my 100 Baby Challenge: The McCrays.
It’s more so an ‘infinite baby challenge’ at this point as I use that to create characters like a factory for the most part.
There are definitely cases where I have dated townies or randomized townies in the game, as I’m not opposed to that if they’re not that famous in the sims franchise and I like their character.
I also didn’t have every single pack in the game, and still don’t, but I got them in between my mint and red gens. So if you see any townies that are usually gen 1 showing up in red gen, that’s why.
Aside from MCCC, there’s NO MODS used.
I know people use mods.
I don’t.
Not because I don’t know how to get them, I do, but because I like the more cartoony animated style of the sims. Idk how unpopular of an opinion this is. Idc either.
If that bothers you and you don't like me not using mods and cc... sorry.
Anyway,
For my Not So Berry family, I wanted to make sure I didn’t copy anyone I have seen done this challenge, whether on YouTube or Tumblr where I usually post on the latter. Not because I think they’ve done a bad job, far from it, but because I just wanted to do my own thing.
(I think that’s heavily reflected in my Mint Gen characters design tbh.)
So I DIDN’T go with the last name ‘Berry’ because of that.
Instead I wanted to create a last name that at least SOUNDS like something that’d be legit in the real world. (Not saying Berry isn’t.) So I combined ‘Not So Berry’ into one mushed word: Nosobirrie.
Pronounced: No-saw-burr-ee
MINT: Pepper Nosobirrie (2002-2062)
ROSE: Ruby Nosobirrie (2028-2080)
YELLOW: Sun Nosobirrie (2051-2105)
GREY: Eve Nosobirrie (2080-)
PLUM: Orchid Nosobirrie (2103-)
ORANGE: TBA
PINK: TBA
PEACH: TBA
GREEN: TBA
BLUE: TBA
The story begins with my Mint Gen heir at age 21, as that’s the age I assume young adult sims as when they start. And because of the sims having advanced tech already, I’m starting the year at the year I started this: 2023.
Which makes my heir born in 2002.
This isn’t me predicting the future or anything, it’s just something I decided to do.
So with that out of the way, let’s begin with our Mint Generation and her life story: Pepper Nosobirrie...
