The world of Remnant...what a peculiar world isn't it? the continents that span it are home to a variety of people, who ranged between humans who are self explanatory and faunus, humans with animal parts and animal qualities, all living inside of 4 mighty kingdoms: Vale, Atlas, Vacuo and Mistral. All four of them weaponizing a special material called dust that allows people to use elemental powers with their weapons, and all the four kingdoms train young men and women to become hunters or huntresses to safeguard peace and combat the evils of the world, stuff from bandits, rogue hunters/huntresses and their biggest threat, the creatures of grimm, monsters made out of a black energy with white bone armor. This creatures are known to be mindless beasts, only drawn by negative emotions and who enjoy causing destruction to humans, taking different forms like beowolfs, Ursas, Deathstalkers, Nevermores, Goliaths, list goes and on...if only they knew right?
Just like everything in life, not everything is what it seems in this world, as the conflict between humanity and grimms is nothing more than a facade, a screen, for a way bigger conflict, one that has been brewing for generations creating an endless cycle of life, war, death and peace before it goes back to the beginning.
On one side of the conflict is Ozpin, the headmaster of the hunter academy Beacon academy, he is a mysterious person that always seems to be hiding something with how cryptic he is. Turns out the guy is the latest reincarnation of a knight from old times that got blessed by the God of Light, kind of a long story, and he was tasked with stopping the grimm queen.
That grimm queen is Salem, once a beautiful lady she lost everything from her husband to her 4 daughters, so she tried to get help from the God of Light, he said no, and when she went to get help from the God of Darkness he said yes, but as a result she ended up cursed for life and eventually, with a deep hatred for humanity, which sent her down a path of destruction.
These two have been fighting for generations, getting allies on their respective sides as they tried getting their hands on the powers of the maidens, legendary female warriors who had incredible powers, as well as 4 relics and the silver eyes warriors...it's a bit convoluted but stay with me.
This whole war thing has been going on for generations as I mentioned earlier, and frankly none of the two has found a way to eliminate the other, considering that they just keep reincarnating every time they die, it happens over and over and over and over again, with zero changes to their behavior or how they fight this war...except, this time might be different.
Let me describe you our current cycle, it's the Vytal festival, a huge event that happens every two years where there's a festival, obviously, but also includes a fighting tournament which is attended by all the four kingdoms and their respective academies where their students compete in a series of fights, but that's now what brings us here, this edition of the Vytal festival was held in Vale but Salem planned a whole attack with help of her allies and some collaboration from a faunus terrorist group called The White Fang, with it's crazy and deranged military leader Adam Taurus.
So after tampering with the order of the fights and hacking into Atlas systems, the attack started with a horde of grimms attacking the city of Vale, the white fang doing a big scale attack on the festival, and the Atlas robot army being hacked to attack the civilians, her plan was in full swing, while her allies were trying to get the Fall maiden and steal her powers...or at least the other half of her powers, since they already stole part of them.
We timeskip to the lands of the grimm, a barren and dead land where grimms are born, and crowning the place is the castle of Salem, her main base of operations. Inside the castle Salem was in her throne room alongside some of her minions.
Tyrian, a scorpion faunus that only lives to serve her and to kill
Hazel, an ex ally of Ozpin until his sister, the fall maiden, was almost killed
Watts, a scientist that works for Salem for a while now.
The 4 were on the throne room, updating Salem on the situation of their latest operation.
Tyrian: my queen - he began while kneeling in front of her - our plan is going accordingly, the festival is in complete chaos with all the grimms and the white fang attacking.
Salem: good, very good - she said with a serious expression as she looked at a floating crystal ball, probably showing her the battle in question - what's the status on the Atlesian army?
Watts: the atlesian knights are fully under our control, the paladins as well and the atlesian fleet is almost out of the air milady - he said with an evil smile.
Salem: excellent...and the Fallen Maiden?
Hazel: Cinder is hunting down Ozpin and the girl he picked as the new maiden, but they are leading her straight into the vault of the academy - he said with an evil smirk - all is going according to plan my queen, it seems we will win this battle.
Salem: the battle...bot not the war - she said with an angry sigh - even if we get the fall maiden's powers Ozpin will still reincarnate into some new body, and this war will just drag on and on...we need a trump card, something Ozpin is not expecting.
¿?: I may have what you need my queen - said a new male voice as they all turned their attention to the entrance of the throne room, where a bald guy entered the place. The guy seemed to be a scientist judging by his white lab coat, but he was also wearing brown pants, black shoes, white gloves and glasses, something of note was that him being bald showed he had a huge scar on his head that went from the back to the front, stopping right above his right eye. Another thing was that he was wearing a weird bracelet with a screen on it.
The arrival of this stranger put Hazel, Watts and Tyrian on the alert, especially Tyrian who immediately grabbed his stinger weapons and rushed towards the guy, standing in front of him pointing the stingers at him.
Tyrian: who are you and how dare you speak to the queen like that!! - he said angrily as he was prepared to pierce the guy - you better have a place for a grave picked bacause-
Salem: Tyrian, Back off now!!! - she screamed in a commanding voice as Tyrian, Hazel and Watts got scared, with Tyrian lowering his weapons and taking steps back away from the guy, afterwards Salem stood up from her thorne and began walking to the guy - sorry about that Doctor Manhutton, he can be...rather aggressive sometimes.
Doctor Manhutton: yes, I have noticed - he said walking by Tyrian, giving him a side glance while Tyrian looked at him angrily, before Manhutton looked at the others - my queen when you said that you had a crack team...i expected a bit more I suppose, but all I see is a savage scorpion faunus, a disenfranchised scientist and a sad excuse of a warrior who clearly is just here for vengeance and nothing more.
Salem: the rest of my minions are out on a mission, I am sure once they return you will be more than pleased - she said with a small smile as she stood in front of Manhutton while the others looked angry and a bit confused at Manhutton's presence.
Watts: my queen...who is this...man? - he asked looking at Manhutton from head to toe, not sure what to think of him.
Salem: well, this scientist is Doctor William Manhutton - she said as Manhutton fixed his glasses with an evil smile - he is an extremely gifted scientist who joined my cause a long long time ago.
Watts: scientist? - he said slightly offended - why would you need another scientist my queen?!
Doctor Manhutton: because unlike you, I am not reliant on hacking other people's weapons to be successful - he said looking at Watts with a smirk - I create my own weapons...and that's what I have been doing for the last 50 years.
Hazel: making a weapon...for 50 years? - he said looking at Manhutton - no offense, but I don't exactly believe you have been working for 50 years considering you barely look over 40.
Doctor Manhutton: no offense, it's part of the deal I made with my queen here - he said pointing at Salem - I develop the weapon to be used for her war effort, and in exchanged she granted me immortality.
Salem: I assume that your presence here means that the weapon is done - she said with an evil smile.
Doctor Manhutton: not only done my queen...we have full stock of it - he said pulling out a tablet from his labcoat, showing them a video of multiple grimms pulling or pushing carts that carried 2 to 3 big explosive devices, carrying them out of a huge storage cave filled with more of those explosives.
Tyrian: are those some sort of bombs? - he asked confused looking at the video - how are a few hundred bombs gonna help us win exactly?
Doctor Manhutton: oh you poor thing, these are not normal bombs - he said with a laugh making Tyrian mad - this bombs are special, since with them we have the power to pretty much destroy all 4 kingdoms in one single attack with zero issue.
This little bit of information surprised Tyrian, Hazel and Watts, since they believed that destroying all 4 kingdoms in one go was impossible...now Salem on the other hand, she was all for it as she grew a wicked smile on her face.
Hazel: destroy all 4 kingdoms, just like that?! - he said not believing it a single bit - but that's impossible, even with the grimms we don't have enough forces for it and-
Doctor Manhutton: and that's the beautiful part of it - he interrupted Hazel with a smirk - why send hundreds of thousands of grimms all over the world, when we can just drop a couple dozens of this bombs instead? there will be so many people won't have a chance of surviving and even if they survive the initial explosions, their chances of survival will still be extremely slim - he said with a small evil laugh, which made Salem pretty happy.
Salem: Doctor Manhutton, you surprised today and I am extremely proud of your acomplisment - she said with an evil smile - when can we use this bombs you developed?
Doctor Manhutton: they are all ready to be used my queen, we are just moving them out so we can transport them - he said bowing - once they are all out, we could have Nevermores and Griffons to pick up the bombs and then drop them on the unsuspecting kingdoms.
Salem: then let's do it - she said with an evil tone of voice as she smiled - I will prepare the flying grimms to pick the bombs and drop them on the kingdoms.
Doctor Manhutton: very well my queen, I will oversee the final preparations for the attack - he said bowing one last before leaving the place, once he was gone the other three of Salem's minions looked at each other and then looked at Salem.
Watts: my queen, are you sure that this is a good idea? - he said with a hint of worry - there's something about this bombs that...really give me a bad feeling.
Tyrian: I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm with Watts on this - he said clearly worried aswell - how can we trust this Manhutton guy? he seems more deranged than me, and that's saying something.
Hazel: and what about the others? they are still outside in Vale fighting and-
Salem: SILENCE!!! - she ordered, making all three of them shut and look at her with fear - I have entertained this war for way to long, once the bombs drop we will have no resistance to pick the relics up and without Ozpin in the way, we will have full control of whoever ends up being the new maidens, so we are going in with this plan and it's final, got it!! - she said menacingly, making her three minions tremble as they bowed - good...now we just wait for the grand show.
Change of scene
Let's see what's going on in Vale, it's the night time and...well at this stage is total chaos, the grimms are running rampant on the city, the white fang is having a field day killing humans and any faunus that isn't with them and the hacked atlesian robots are making huge destructions. But in between all of this there are still some people trying to fight back, 4 of them are the members of the hunntress team RWBY, made up of the young scythe wielder Ruby Rose, the ice queen Weiss Schnee, the silent Cat ninja Blake Belladonna and the blonde hothead Yang Xiao Long. All four of them were fighting to try and defend the people. As of now Ruby and Weiss were trying to fight their way across some grimms
Ruby: keep fighting!! - she said decapitating a beowolf with her scythe before dodging a swipe attack by another one.
Weiss: Ruby, on your six!! - she said using her rapier with some Ice dust to freeze three young deathstalkers that were sneaking up on Ruby - you are welcome.
Ruby: thanks bestie! - she said with a smile as the two continued moving across the place, killing the grimms that stood on their way, at least until a group of 4 white fang soldiers stopped them - aw crap.
White fang soldier 1: end of the line girls - said one of the soldiers with an evil smirk, although it didn't lasted for long since a destroyed atlesian knight knocked down 2 of the white fang soldiers - what in the-?!
He didn't finished since he was kicked down by another of the members of RWBY, this one being Blake.
White fang soldier 2: got you now traitor! - said pointing it's smg at her, totally ignoring that Yang was quickly approaching.
Yang: coming through!! - she said as she charged at the solider, soon giving him a right hook that sent him flying - home run!
Blake: why you keep doing that? - she said with a sigh as Ruby and Weiss approached them.
Ruby: girls, it's good to see you are ok!! - she said with clear relief in her voice. They then ran from the conflict and into a semi collapsed structure where nobody could see them.
Weiss: have you seen the others? - she asked as she held her Rapier ready to be used - I haven't seen anybody from JNPR or CFVY in a while.
Blake: I am not sure, Nora and Ren were fighting their way to open an escape route to the bullhead docks, CFVY were trapped fighting the hacked atlesian robots and I have no idea where Ozpin, Jaune or Pyrrha are.
Yang: yeah, we were cut off in our tracks by Taurus as he tried to ambush us, but uncle Qrow stopped him before he could get to us.
Weiss then checked her scroll, a mobile device of sorts and she sees Jaune sent a few messages to team Rwby and the rest of JNPR.
Weiss: Jaune has something, Ozpin and Pyrrha are heading back to the academy, apparently headed to a...secret bunker? - she said a bit confused - whatever happened to Jaune he is clearly worried.
Yang: Ozpin might have something he wants to give to Pyrrha in order to help in this whole mess...maybe we could convince him to give us something similar? - she said as the others looked at her confused.
Blake: Yang, I doubt the headmaster will be ok with us asking for...whatever he wants to give Pyrrha - she said looking serious.
Weiss: I'm with Blake on this, we don't even know what he is planning to give her - she said serious as well.
Ruby: maybe, but if Ozpin has an idea to win this we should help - she said thinking about it - Ozpin might know something we don't in order to win and at the very least save more people!
Weiss: true, but even then the best we can do is make a way for people to evacuate, we don't have the means to fight across the hordes of grimms, atlesian knights and White fang soldiers, the atlesian ships are all over the sky and we don't have a mean to get back to the academy!
¿?: why do you want to get back to the academy? - said a stern female voice near them, making them jump in surprise as they looked at the source of the voice, discovering it was a blonde woman wearing a teacher's outfit and glasses. It was their teacher, Glynda Goodwitch
yang: professor Goodwitch - she said surprised - good...to see you are ok.
Weiss: yeah...we sort of thought you were also trapped in the fighting - she said recovering from the surprise.
Glynda: the fight had me pinned for a while, but I managed to open myself a path, not without difficulty of course - she said fixing her glasses as she looked at a few scratches her clothes had alongside a few gunshot marks - now, what were the 4 of you talking about?
Ruby: well...we were talking that Headmaster Ozpin was taking Pyrrha back to the academy for some reason - she explained with a nervous smile - and we thought that he wants to give her something to help with...well this whole conflict.
Yang: and as such, we wanted to see if maybe it was possible to get something similar for ourselves, you know with more help we could solve this faster - she said trying to reason with Goodwitch, who seemed to be a bit frustrated.
Glynda: I told Ozpin to make sure that miss Nikos didn't told anyone about it - she said frustrated as she massaged her forehead with a hand - so you four really want to help with this situation, do you?
Weiss: I mean yes, between the realms of possibilities we want to help as much as possible - she said sounding a bit more determined as she stood next to Ruby and Yang.
Blake: that's true, if possible we want to go and support Pyrrha in one way or another - she said standing next to her teammates.
Yang: yes teach, Even if we have to give up something for it we will do it, this is what we were training to after all! - she said determined as she raised a punch.
Ruby. what we are trying to say professor, is that we are ready to do what it takes to protect these people, huntresses and hunters are trained for this sort of stuff - she said as she and her team stood next to each other. Glynda looked at the four and seemed to be lost in thought for a bit until she seemed to come up with an idea.
Glynda: hmm...very well - she said still in her serious tone as she gave them a small smile - I will take you 4 to the bunkers as well.
Weiss: wait, really?! - she said surprised, with the others being as surprised as her.
Glynda: that's right, I know that there's a bullhead landing area for evacuation nearby, I have permission by the Headmaster to take any of them and use them to return to the academy as fast as possible - she said as she looked outside of their hiding place, the battle was still raging but everyone seemed distracted - with the chaos here I doubt anyone will notice us moving.
Blake: that does sound like a plan - she said preparing her smg and turning it into a sword - but how long will it take?
Ruby: yeah, we have to get back here as soon as possible once the process is done - she added as she prepared her scythe while Weiss prepared her reapier and Yang prepared her gauntlets.
Glynda: the process should only take some seconds, but we have to move fast...now follow me! - she said as she began running with the 4 girls following her, avoiding as much of the conflict as possible, as Glynda typed something on her scroll - 'Ozpin, you better have a plan for this'
Scene change and time skip
Back in beacon academy, there were a lot of grimms trying to attack the place, but they were being pushed back by a mix of atlesian soldiers and different hunters and huntresses.
Inside of the academy, on one of the deepest areas, there are two people, a white haired adult dressed in a suit and a red haired young girl dressed in an armor similar to a spartan's, walking down a hallway that leads to a big door, the people are headmaster Ozpin, the headmaster of Beacon academy and Pyrrha Nikos, a huntress in training that has a reputation of being invincible. The two had a serious expression but Pyrrha seemed more worried and confused.
Pyrrha: Headmaster - she said as they walked - are you sure this will work? we only have half of the fall maiden's powers.
Ozpin: true, but they also only have half of the powers - he said not looking at her as they walked - if we can defeat their half maiden we will have their maiden powers and we could win this.
Pyrrha: I really hope so - she said as she followed him, suddenly Ozpin received a message on his scroll as he looked at it he seemed conflicted for a second until he put an even more serious expression than before as he accelerated his walk - headmaster, what's the matter?
Ozpin: seems like we will have some of your friends joining us - he said as the two entered into an elevator and as it closed it's doors, Ozpin entered a code in a panel, after which the elevator began to go down. After a few minutes the elevator reached the destination, which was a bunker like room where there was a sort of platform next to a control panel being managed by a man dressed in a blue jumpsuit with yellow lines operating it.
unknown man: everything ready sir? - he asked to Ozpin as Pyrrha and him stepped on the platform.
Ozpin: not yet, we are waiting on Miss Goodwitch who's bringing in a few people - he said as the man nodded, after a minute or so, another elevator door opened, revealing Glynda coming alongside team RWBY.
Glynda: we are here - she said as she led team RWBY out of the elevator as she walked up to the platform to speak with Ozpin.
Pyrrha: girls!! - she said surprised as she ran up to team RWBY, getting off the platform - what are you doing here?!
Weiss: we came here to help you! - she said as the others stood next to her.
Blake: Professor Goodwitch told us that we could help you - she said - we want to help and fight.
Pyrrha: but girls...this is dangerous - she said looking at them worried.
Yang: and? we already survived a chaotic grimm invasion back with the train plot - she said cracking her knuckles - if we can help in any way we will do it!
Ruby: that's true, we are friends Pyrrha, and we are gonna fight together, no matter the cost! - she said smiling determined as the others also smiled determined, making Pyrrha smile with some tears on her eyes.
Pyrrha: oh you guys - she said as she hugged them, resulting in a big group hug - you are great.
Yang: hey, we are friends for a reason invincible girl - she joked - once we are done here we will kick ass!
Weiss: and of course, we will find the others in the process, they will need our help after all - she said as the others nodded in agreement.
As they talked, Ozpin was talking with Glynda and the unknown man, the three seemingly discussing what to do. But after a few minutes Ozpin and Glynda walked up to the girls.}
Ozpin: alright you 5, let's go - he said to them as the unknown man went back to operate the console - we have very little time.
RWBY and Pyrrha: yes professor!! - said the 5 girls as they stepped onto the platform alongside Ozpin and Glynda.
Glynda: send us down - she said to the man, who nodded and activated something on the panel, making the platform they were on to start going down, after a couple seconds they were out of sight and a metallic door closed above them.
Ruby: umm, Headmaster - she said getting the attention of Ozpin - who was the man operating the console? He didn't seemed like beacon staff.
Ozpin: he belongs to a group who sided with us in this conflict, they agreed to create a special safe bunker for us to hide stuff from our enemies, which is un trackable - he said not looking at her.
Weiss: ok...but what are you hiding that's so important for them? - she asked with confusion, Ozpin sighed before looking at the four of them.
Ozpin: do the four of you know about the tale of the maidens? - he said simply
Meanwhile, in the battle
Not a lot has changed here, except that a blonde boy wearing a mix between regular clothes and a knight's armor was running across the battlefield, cutting down the occasional grimm that jumped at him or the atlesian robots that were too distracted to attack him. This blonde guy was Jaune arc, another hunter in training, leader of team JNPR and friend of team RWBY.
Jaune: come on guys, where are you? - he said to himself frustrated looking around, suddenly a giant piece of machine went flying above him and landed on top of a giant gorilla like grimm, killing it. Jaune looked over and saw an orange haired girl dressed in a battle dress using a big hammer while she was being covered from enemy attacks by a guy with black hair and a pink streak dressed in what looks to be green oriental clothing - Nora, Ren!! - he said running towards them.
Ren: Jaune? - he said as he stabbed an atlesian robot with his two daggers before kicking it away, meanwhile Nora was getting off a giant Ursa before she smashed it's head with the hammer, killing it as jaune reached the two.
Nora: hi jaune!! - she said with a smile as she stood next to Jaune as Ren ran up to him - how's it going?
Jaune: have you seen Pyrrha or team RWBY? - he asked kinda panicked, as Ren and Nore looked a bit confused.
Ren: I haven't seen them really - he said shrugging, as Nora shocked her head no - we haven't seen either of them in hours.
Nora: wait! - she said as she smiled - I do think I saw them running with professor Glynda towards somewhere.
Jaune: they were probably headed to the academy - he said to them - you saw where they were headed Nora?
Nora: yep, they were headed towards one of the bullhead extraction points! - she said pointing at a direction, which was pretty packed with enemies.
Ren: Nora, I don't think we are going to be able to break through those hordes - he said as he switched his daggers into guns - not with just the three of us anyways.
Jaune: we have to try - he said holding his sword and shield - I am not leaving Pyrrha alone!
Nora: you mean Pyrrha and team RWBY right fearless leader? - she said giving jaune a funny look, fully knowing what he really meant as he blushed.
Jaune: N-Nora, not now! - he said trying to focus on the situation at hand - we will try and take as much of an alternative route, avoid as many grimms, white fangs and atlesian knights as possible!! now let's go!!
Soon the trio began to run into the heat of the battle.
Back in the Beacon bunker
Ozpin, Glynda, Pyrrha and team RWBY were finally reaching the final of their travel on the platform elevator, although team RWBY seemed conflicted and shocked.
Yang: the maidens are...real? - she said grabbing her hair with one hand.
Weiss: but...it's impossible!! it's supposed to just be a fairy tale!! - she said clearly having something close to a panic attack, while Ruby had a hand on her left shoulder to try and calm her down.
Blake: my head is having a hard time processing all of this - she said hugging herself - but I suppose it makes sense why they would attack this place then.
Ruby: yeah, if one of the maidens is down here and a villain wants her powers, then it would make sense for them to cause all of this - she said as she was a bit less in shock than the others.
Ozpin: we actually just have half of a maiden - he said with a sigh - the one who wants the maiden's powers already stole half of them without killing the maiden, but we managed to save her on time.
Glynda: miss Nikos is to absorb the other half of the maiden's powers - she said with a serious look as the platform reached the final destination, a hallway that led into the bunker itself - you 4 will receive some different kind of powers, ones we were lucky enough to secure after the whole incident with the fall maiden.
Weiss: sounds logical - she said as they all walked down the hallway, going across a sort of access bridge - if the maiden doesn't has all her powers, it would make sense to have back ups.
Ozpin: correct Miss Schnee - he said as they entered the main room of the bunker, a big entrance room where a few guards were standing dressed in an armor similar to the police's special unit suits. Alongside them there was a scientist with grey hair dressed in a blue shirt, a labcoat, black pants, black shoes, yellow gloves and a weird wrist device with a screen on it - doctor Adams, are we set?
the man now identified as doctor Adams walked up to Ozpin and the others, smiling as one of the guards handed him a clipboard.
Doctor Adams: yes mister Ozpin - he said checking the papers on the clipboard - the maiden is stable, the conditions of the containment pod is perfect and the systems are ready for the transfer process - he said with a smile.
Ozpin: good - he said before looking at team RWBY - Adams here will oversee the process for you four, while miss Goodwitch and I work it for Pyrrha.
Yang: sounds like a plan but - she said before looking at doctor Adams - no offense but I'm a bit skeptical over someone I just met doing this.
Doctor Adams: non taken young lady, but rest assured that there will be no problems - he said with a smile - we have been preparing for a situation like this for years, we know what we are doing.
Yang: if you say so doc - she said sighing a bit.
Pyrrha: I suppose I'll see you guys later - she said with a smile to them.
Ruby: do not worry Pyrrha. we will catch up to you once the process for us is done - she said with a smile.
Ozpin: ok miss Nikos, come with us - he said as he and Glynda led Pyrrha down a hallway, until a door closed behind them.
Doctor Adams: ok you four, follow me - he said as he began walking a different hallway, with team RWBY following him, as they walked they went through a few rooms with a lot of containment pods big enough to fit in a person.
Weiss: wow, you guys seem to have made this place quite big - she said looking around.
Doctor Adams: oh yeah, mister Ozpin told us to prepare for anything - he said as they walked - we take pride on our projects, we put everything into it and we never had a complaint.
Blake: I suppose that puts me more at ease - she said as she looked at some of the guards standing guard on some of the doors along the hallways and rooms, she then stepped up her pace and got next to Ruby, getting close to her - Ruby, I don't like this, it all looks way to fishy to me - she whispered to her.
Ruby: yeah, some of this feels...off - she whispered back - but they are the only ones who can really help us get stronger to help Pyrrha and the others.
Blake: I guess you are right...I just pray to Oum we are ok after this - she whispered with a sigh, soon enough they entered one final room, this one only contained 4 containment pods and they were being checked by some lower ranking scientists. There was also a table with 4 bags on it.
Doctor Adams: alright, we are here - he said with a smile as he stepped up to the table - now, before starting I will have to ask you to take off your clothes.
Yang: excuse me?! - she said clearly not buying it - we ain't stripping for nobody!! even for this!!
Doctor Adams: oh not here, there's a backroom over here - he said pointing at a nearby door as he picked one of the bags and offered it to Ruby - and is just so you can wear these instead.
Ruby picked the bag from the hands of doctor Adams and pulled out was inside, it was a blue jumpsuit with lines on it like the operator from earlier, except this one had dark red lines instead of yellow and her initial and logo were on the back of it right above a cog emblem which had the number 222 written inside the cog.
Ruby: a jumpsuit? - she asked curious as the other 3 looked curious too.
Doctor Adams: the process is still experimental, we had the clothes of many scientists disintegrate while working on this, but it causes no damage to organic matter - he said scratching his head - the jumpsuit is resistant to all sorts of damage, it's stylish, fits in well for almost anyone...and we took the liberty to customize them for the lot of you.
Weiss: wow, that's awfully kind - she said as she picked one of the bags, followed by Blake and Yang - but...how naked do we have to get in order to put on the jumpsuits?
Doctor Adams: just down to the underwear, once the process is done you can all put your old clothes back on - he said, the four of them nodded and went to the backroom to put on jumpsuits.
2 minutes later team RWBY returned wearing the jumpsuits, they were pretty similar aside from the colors of the lines, Ruby had red, Weiss had white, Blake had black and Yang had yellow, aside from that they all had their logos and initials above the cog emblem with the number 222 in it.
Doctor Adams: marvelous, they all fit perfectly on you - he said with a smile as they looked at each other.
Ruby: they are rather comfy I will admit - she said with a small smile looking at herself.
Yang: although they can hug...certain regions - she said looking at her chest and butt, since they were kind of accentuated with the jumpsuit. Blake also noticed this as her butt was even bigger and it was accentuated more than Yang's.
Weiss: for once, I am glad I am not that endowed - she said sighing in relief - so, can we start now?
Doctor Adams: whenever you want, just step into the pods and relax - he said with a smile as team RWBY looked at each other and had one last group hug.
Ruby: see you all soon - she said with a smile as they all entered a different pod, taking position in it as they closed down.
Doctor Adams: the process shouldn't take more than a few seconds to start, once it's done I will get you out of there - he said looking into Ruby's pod - just relax, soon you 4 will be back in combat.
Ruby nodded as she relaxed after a bit the lights in the pods turned on, illuminating them from the inside.
robotic voice: starting procedure...initiating scanning - the 4 could feel the inside of the pods getting colder as some smoke was being liberated into their pods - vitals stability, positive...occupants fully compatible - the 4 of them were starting to fall asleep inside the pods, slowly not being able to see or hear what's outside - in 3...2...1...
Doctor Adams looked at the pods with the girls in them as he sighed, soon Ozpin arrived and walked up to him.
Doctor Adams: alright Oz, we did what you wanted and trapped the 4 in the cryo pods - he said without looking at Ozpin - but why? why trick them like this?
Ozpin: the 4 are formidable fighters and future huntresses but this is something they are not ready for - he said serious.
Doctor Adams: and that redhead girl of yours is ready to become the fall maiden? - he said looking at Ozpin with a serious face, showing some anger - they are children Oz, they are not ready for this kind of conflict.
Ozpin: as long as she remains out there, we will take what we can get, I doubt anybody like miss Nikos will appear again soon - he said without budging on his opinion - this is our best option.
Doctor Adams: Oz, I don't think you realize the possibilities of this vault!! - he said pointing at the room and what's inside - we could protect your students and yourself for years, your enemies would never know you are here, make them go crazy looking for you on a wild goose chase and plan how to strike down Sal-
Ozpin: don't mention her name! - he said in a threatening voice, pointing his cane at Adams, who didn't even flinched. after a few seconds Ozpin stepped back - you may be smart doctor, but you don't know anything about the queen or her pawns...they will stop at nothing to find the maidens or the relics...eventually they will know.
Doctor Adams: but you are ok sending out kids into dangerous situations like this? Is that any better? - he said as Ozpin turned and began walking away - hey, when are we supposed to defrost the other 4?!
Ozpin: once miss Nikos defeats the fake fall maiden, until then, seal off this bunker - he said leaving. Adams just stood there for a couple of minutes, until one of the female guards came up to him.
Female guard: sir, mister Ozpin, miss Glynda and young Nikos have left the vault - she said, but before she could continue Adams began walking - sir?
Doctor Adams: Ozpin is a fool, they will never come back from that battle - he said as he walked, the female guard running behind him as they reached a control room with a big desk and a few computers on it, Adams began typing on one of the computers' keyboard - the world is about to through a major change that no one can expect or stop.
Female guard: what...is the plan then sir? - she asked a bit worried about what's going to happen.
Doctor Adams: I'm afraid the clock is about to stop ticking...and as such, we have to prepare for the future - he said as he kept typing on the computer's keyboard, getting a reading of energy from the outside - and I think the 4 new residents of this vault might be the answer for it...and the only hope to rebuild the world after it goes up in flames....with some help from the good old trusty Vault-tec of course.
Back on the surface
On top of one of the buildings in Vale, there are 3 people standing on top of the building, looking over the chaos below. These three people are Emerald Sustrai, the green haired thief, Mercury Black the grey haired dirty fighter and the leader, Cinder Fall...the false maiden, the one who stole half of the maiden's powers. And just by looking at her face it's easy to see she wasn't happy.
Cinder: where in the hell is the Fall maiden?! - she said angrily looking at Emerald and Mercury - Ozpin couldn't have gone to far with her!!
Emerald: I don't know, the grimms haven't seen anything and neither have the atlesian robots we hacked - she said slightly scared of Cinder.
Mercury: last we knew they were headed to Beacon, but the grimms sent there haven't found anything, not even the bunker where they are holding the maiden - he said frustrated - it's like they disappeared from the city or something.
Cinder: they couldn't have left, the aerial grimms and the atlesian fleet have the place locked up and we haven't even blew up the atlesian fleet yet, if anything tried to get away by air it would have been shot down!! - she said angrily - Emerald, give me another reading, they have to be somewhere!!
Emerald: on it - she said pulling out her scroll as she pressed some buttons, getting a reading - I got something, seems like the invincible girl and the headmaster are heading out of Beacon right now.
Cinder: fucking finally - she said as she created fire on her hands - I will go after them, you two make sure the others are distracted while I work...and make sure the atlesian fleet starts to crash down.
Emerald: we got it Cinder - she said as Cinder climbed on a Griphon grimm and she left for Beacon to face against Pyrrha and Ozpin. As Emerald watched her leave, she began to work on what Cinder ordered her to do when she received a notification on her scroll, seeing it made her scratch her head - odd, unusual grimm readings?...what does that mean?
Mercury: Emerald...I think it means that - he said behind her while looking at the sky and pointing at it, Emerald turned around and looked up, and her face turned to one of shock as she saw a huge amount of Nevermores and Gryphons flying high above them - you knew about this?
Emerald: no...I did not - she said still in shock seeing all the flying grimms - why would they deploy so many flying grimms?
Mercury: I don't really know - he said as he used the camera function of his scroll to look up to them, using the zoom function to take a closer look, noticing that all the flying grimms were carrying something on their claws, something akin to a bomb - are they carrying bombs?
Emerald: what? - she said looking through his scroll and seeing it too - this isn't good
Mercury: I mean it's probably part of the plan - he said, not really convinced by his own words - I think we might have to continue our part.
Emerald: I suppose you are right...I just hope Cinder knows what she is doing - she said as the two began to run to complete their objectives...forgetting totally about hacking the atlesian fleets
Meanwhile on the airspace of Vale, about 4 minutes later
Inside one of the atlesian hijacked airships, there were an orange haired man dressed in a fancy suit and a fedora holding a cane, alongside a half pink haired half black haired girl dressed in a combat dress that was part pink and part black, with an umbrella on her back. These two were Roman Torchwick and Neopolitan, a crime duo that works with Cinder. Right now they were trying to pilot the airship to get away from the fight, but they were having issues since the airship was stumbling a lot, flying erratically and almost colliding with a lot of other airships, just being avoided by Roman trying to pilot the damn thing.
Roman: come on, work goddammit!!! - he said angrily trying to manage the controls of the airship, as Neo pressed buttons and pulled switches on the console - keep pressing Neo, we have to get the control back!!
Neo nodded and kept working until she got an idea, pulling out her scroll and beginning to hack the airship's system, it took a few minutes but in the end they managed to get the control back and the airship went back to normal. Once this happened Roman sighed in relief as he looked at Neo.
Roman: thanks for that Neo - he said, making Neo smile at him, the two began to fly away from the place, but noticed that a lot of shadows were passing by, as they looked up they noticed the hordes of flying grimms and they were shocked - holy, that's a lot of grimms!! Did cinder even mention those?!
Neo shock her head no as she was pretty scared of all those grimms, Roman looked worried at them as he kept piloting the airship.
Roman: I don't like this, I don't like this at all - he said with a grim look on his face - screw all this baloney of a plan, we are leaving!! - Neo nodded as they piloted the ship away from the place as fast as possible.
Around the same time
While all of this events were taking event, Cinder was busy trying to take down Pyrrha after taking down Ozpin, the two were fighting on top of a communications tower as a grimm dragon flew around, not intervening. Pyrrha was doing her best, but she was starting to get tired.
Cinder: you are good invincible girl, I can understand why Ozpin picked you - she said as Pyrrha clashed her sword against Cinder's bow - but this is where it all ends.
Pyrrha: you are wrong...we are only getting started!! - she said throwing her shield at Cinder as she dodged it, but then Pyrrha used her semblance to use magnetism and pulled her shield back, Cinder noticed it and barely managed to dodge before Pyrrha went for another strike, managing to cut Cinder on the arm but while her aura blocked the damage, it didn't blocked the knockback as it sent Cinder a few steps back.
Cinder: not bad...not bad at all - she said as she composed herself grabbing her bow and switching it for two swords - but now we end this!!
As Cinder finished saying that she charged at Pyrrha with the swords, mixing in her maiden powers into the swords, making them catch in flames and making Pyrrha step back as she tried to block and counter attack, but cinder was starting to overwhelm her, but Pyrrha was keeping her guard up and focused on the fight. That was until the dragon grimm that was flying around the tower crashed into it and ripped apart the ceiling and most of the walls, giving them full view of the sky, with the grimms and hijacked atlesian airships still flying. The arrival of the dragon caused Pyrrha to lose focus as she made wrong move and as a result, Cinder broke her weapon and kicked her away, sending her to the floor in pain.
Cinder: it's over girl - she said walking up to her with an evil smile on her face, stabbing her arms with her swords to pin her down - just let me kill you quickly so I can be done with this. Pyrrha looked up from where she was trying to resist, but as she did she noticed all the nevermores and gryphons flying in the sky and looked shocked, cinder noticed her expression and smiled more - what's the matter? impressed by the sheer power of grimms?
Pyrrha: more like...the sheer numbers - she said, this caught Cinder's attention as she looked up too. seeing all the flying grimms her expression quickly changed from evil smiling to confusion.
Cinder: so many... what? - she said looking up, forgetting about Pyrrha - what are you doing my queen?
Back in the ground
Jaune. Ren and Nora managed to get to the bullhead extraction area a while ago, but with all the flying grimms in the sky all bullheads were stuck on the ground without being able to fly. this left them as sitting ducks for the grimms, white fang and atlesian robots, so the three of them were busy fighting off the enemies while the hordes of enemies.
Ren: there's...to many of them!! - he said cutting down a beowolf before blocking an attack from another one, at the same time Nora was blasting away at various enemies with her weapon, which she shifted from hammer to grenade launcher earlier.
Jaune: we have to keep fighting, it's our only chance to keep the bullheads safe!! - he said as he blocked a slash from a white fang soldier and counter attacked, knocking out the soldier - but I am not sure how long we'll be able to last.
¿?: you kids need help? - said a male voice, suddenly various grimms and atlesian robots were slashed to death as a black haired man carrying a big sword arrived, wearing a kinda ragged suit which had many cuts and he seemed a bit wounded - you are a colorful bunch, no wonder my niece took you as friends.
Jaune: wait, you are Ruby's uncle!! - he said surprised looking at him - you were Qrow right?
Qrow: yup, and I can see you 3 have been working to death here - he said swinging his sword around, destroying 3 ursas - you kids saw Ruby or her team? I haven't seen them since I saved Yang and her black haired friend from Taurus.
Ren: not recently, we don't know their current location!! - he said as he kicked away a white fang soldier that tried to attack Nora while she reloaded - we- wait you fought Adam Taurus?!
Qrow: yeah - he grumbled blocking an attack from another ursa - fucker ran away after I slashed his face, guess he recognized he couldn't win.
Nora: I saw the girls with miss Goodwitch heading for Beacon a while ago - she said after reloading her grenade launcher - we tried picking a bullhead but the grimms-
Qrow: hold your horses there kid, you said Goodwitch took them to Beacon?! - he asked to which Nora nodded, making Qrow anxious and worried - 'Goddammit Glynda, what the hell are you and Oz planning to do?'
However, his train of thought didn't lasted for long, as soon various white fang soldiers made way for someone else. It was Adam Taurus, a red haired male bull faunus who carries a katana on his right hand as he wears his black clothes, which have cuts all over them and half his mask is broken, showing one of his eyes.
Adam: I found you Branwen - he said angrily as he held his katana, getting the attention from the group - now I can have a proper rematch.
Qrow: one humiliation wasn't enough for you huh? - he said with half a smile as he held his sword - Taurus your soldiers and you must realize this is suicide right? you are not doing much by contributing to the massacre the grimm are doing.
Adam: we will be monsters if humanity keeps treating us like monsters!! - he screamed angry raising his katana as the other white fang soldiers also raised their weapons - We will not stop until all humans suffer the same way we have suffered!!!
As he said that the nevermores and gryphons flying in the sky screeched loudly and began dropping the bombs they were holding, the screech forces everyone to look up and see what's going on. moving back to Pyrrha and Cinder, they can see the devices being dropped off from first row in a way of speak.
Cinder: what...what are those things? - she said looking at the bombs, until-
BOOM!!!
BOOM!!!
BOOM!!!
Multiple explosions started to happen all over the city of Vale, each explosion caused huge mushroom shaped clouds to rise to the sky, causing surprise to both Cinder and Pyrrha.
Pyrrha: what's going on?! - she screamed extremely confused, but Cinder wasn't answering, she didn't knew what was going on at all and her mind was racing with thoughts about Salem and why she would do this...but her thoughts are short lived as another explosion happens, this time closer to where they are and the expansive shockwave goes at them fast - look out!!!
But it's futile, the shockwave sends the two girls flying and the dragon grimm ends up trapped in it too, and as a matter of fact the explosions just keep on happening all over the city and the kingdom...but they are not the only ones.
Back at the Vault in Beacon
Doctor Adams is seen alone on his computer still, holding a weird videotape as he looks into the computer screen. On the computer there are 3 other scientists, 2 males and one female, and a Faunus girl dressed in a Vault-tec office uniform in a video call with Adams. The whole place was seen shaking up with all the stuff going on outside.
Doctor Adams: we have confirmed detonations in Vale from the capital city to settlements like Sumire and Lower Cairn, we've lost contact with the Vaults on Mount Glenn and Patch - he informed the others in the voice call - I need reports on what is going on the other main kingdoms, now.
Male Vault-tec Scientist 1: Mistral has confirmed detonations in the capital city too, including Haven and Sanctum academies, Kuchinashi and Higanbana, the vault in Haven and Sanctum are operating well but we have a confirmed breach on the vault in Central Station.
Male Vault-tec scientist 2: Atlas is not faring much better, Mantle, Essen, Crossed and Dormir are wiped out and the safeguard Ironwood had installed failed miserable. All the vaults are operating well but we received info that the vault located near the Schnee owner dust mines never took in the remaining Schnees.
Female Vault-tec scientist: Vacuo is just as bad as the rest, the detonations are causing huge sandstorms and they are messing with our communication systems, we have a few confirmed detonations on Kenyte and Feldspar, but from last I heard the vaults are operating well.
Doctor Adams: good - he said focusing on the faunus girl dressed in the vault tec uniform - Representative, what are the news on Menagerie?
Vault-tec Rep: oddly enough we haven't seen many grimms flying above the island - she said - Kuo Kuana and it's vault are safe but the local population is scared about the explosions, and we also evacuated the people into the vaults in case the explosions cause tsunamis.
Doctor Adams: good, keep the inhabitants of the vaults pleased and fed, the orders are to open the vaults after the initial batch of radiation has subsided - he ordered, the others nodded as they ended their video calls, except for the representative - what's the matter miss?
Vault-tec Rep: doctor, do you think this is related to...you know - she seemed a bit scared to say it - Manhutton?
Adams seemed to think as he sighed annoyed, he seemed to agree with what the rep woman had said and that this whole mess was the fault of Manhutton. however he recognized that the huge horde of flying grimms were definitaly a sign that Manhutton was not working alone on this, and that Ozpin's enemy was aiding Manhutton in one way or another.
Vault-tec rep: doctor, if Manhutton is involved in this then that means that our operations are at risk, but with the current situation we do not have the resources to launch a search party.
Doctor Adams: I am aware miss, but don't worry, in his incompetence Ozpin helped me to create a back-up plan - he said smiling leaving the videotape next to the computer - now all we need to do is wait.
Vault-tec rep: I hope you know what you are doing Adams - she said with a sigh before ending the videocall, leaving Adams alone as he checked the security footage of the vault, showing the room where team RWBY was currently frozen in.
Doctor Adams: I'm afraid you 4 all the last hope of humanity girls...but don't worry, I am pretty sure you all will find a way to push forward - he said as he stood up and exited the room, leaving his computer on and unlocked - since even with all the incoming changes...
