Summary
The summer of '87 kicks off lazily, with the boys spending a lot of time together. As the days roll by, Renton's getting ready to leave for uni. Simon starts being difficult for no apparent reason, and the tension is slowly building. Maybe there is a reason, but Renton can't figure it out. And the Cure concert's coming up, which can either fix whatever it is or make it worse.

"Ye've been awfy quiet oan the pullin' front, havenae ye?' Begbie prods with a sly grin.
"Ah have no!" Simon retorts defensively.
"Is that right? When's the last time ye had a lassie over at yer place, Simon?" The question hangs in the air.
Renton closely observes the exchange. Simon seems confused as he tries to remember the last time he hooked up with a lassie; Renton does the same and draws a blank. Considering how much time they've been spending together, Simon just wouldn't have the time. Simon probably reaches the same conclusion and, for a brief moment, he looks really lost — or maybe even terrified?
