Wjseuehhsgywygwh you've captured the scene so well I canNOT EVEN-

SIkuna accidentally doing the quintessential 'arrogant, probably evil person tilts their head back to stare at someone from even higher up and with even less apparent respect' pose lmFAO YEAH HE TOTALLY WOULD

The expression itself is perfect as well! When you know what he's thinking it's like 'Oh shoot what do I do here *thoughts absolutely NYOOM as he tries to think of what to do other than just running over to the kid and healing him*'

but without context it really gives off that 'You are but a fly, I need not emote whilst looking upon one' or something like that!
(because yeah he does usually probably have that Arrogantly Stoic, Perhaps Bored expression when not doing anything in particular, bro's got a case of Resting Sukuna Face syndrome hsisneksjdhehf 😂)

And thE EYES YESS SPOOKI EYES FTW 👏👏👏 SIkuna really said "(👁️👁️__👁️👁️)" huh 😂😂😂

And MegUMI-!!!??? Poor guy's both terrified AND surprised at like, the Everything of the situation!!!

The sheer contrast between SIkuna's and Megumi's expressions is truly Something Else ngl, poor Gumi is full on wide-eyed, grimacing and sweating cold sweat out of pure terror, meanwhile SIkuna's just kinda Chilling™
(also Megumi's clearly very tense wherein SIkuna comes off as completely relaxed, perhaps a smidgen irked at most)

And like, on a technical level I AM DYING (of appreciation) THINKING ABOUT HOW MUCH EFFORT AND TIME THIS MUST HAVE TAKEN???

Just a little spoiler; SIkuna is gonna cuddle/pet the black Divine Dog at some point and it's definitely gonna seem much less adorable than what that may bring to mind when one knows his internal character and intentions lmfAO- *dies of wheeze*)

  I see my plan of lowering expectations through shitposts only to jumpscare the viewers/readers with effort was successful >:D (I’m joking ofc)
  But for real, I am very glad the expressions turned out the way I intended. With Megumi I was mostly using his expression from the manga during this scene for reference.
  SIkuna on the other hand was significantly more annoying to nail down with his blank yet contemplating expression (at least from Megumi’s POV) and also any side profile references of Sukuna I could find were of him being a smug bastard. I ended up having to redraw his eyes a few times before I was satisfied. (He really is just going 👀 in the most literal sense.)
  I used the manga as reference again for the background, which was a little annoying because there weren’t any shots from the exact angles I wanted (in hindsight I probably should’ve been looking at the anime too, but I didn’t feel like it :P)
  The secret to lighting is to abuse layer opacity and blending modes while praying to the art gods.
  Also Yeah! Feel free to link it :D
  So what I’m hearing about the next chapter is that SIkuna is gonna go :D at the dog and Megumi is going to be terrified that the curse is gonna kill it.

    SIkuna does look pretty darn smug/arrogant quite often (especially when in a good mood or actually going for that vibe deliberately), that's just how his mannerisms are sometimes lol
    - but in this case it was definitely moreso like this and you've absolutely Nailed It™ (Nobara would be proud of the all the Nailing (ha get it it's because she uses Nails-))
    
    And oh boi do I feel you on that redrawing eyes thing lmao, it's even more complicated to do expressions when you have to factor in two pairs of eyes, isn't it 😂
    
    And I actually thought you did use the anime as a reference for it too, this honestly makes it even more impressive how you've captured the Vibe™ of the scene so well :OOOO

I freaking adore the more meme-y drawings, they're hilarious AND accurate!!
The doggo going 'nYOOM-' is truly the peak of comedy, I can only imagine the next frame lmfao 😂😂😂

Realistically, SIkuna would catch it at the last second - but if we're talking comedy it'd be hilarious if he got toppled over by the Divine Dog lmfAO

Like, imagine if literally every single sorcerer got upstaged by the Dog™ 😂
(And indirectly, Megumi!)

Also the funniest thing is that if they just wanted to calm SIkuna down they could have sent Megumi himself for a hug too 😂 (or Nobara or Panda or Maki or Toge-)
- I just imagine this is before that realisation, and that Megumi isn't that much of a hugger anyway, so 'tis the time for Doggo to shine lol

Back to the art itself though, I love the expressions on both of them!
The funni meme-y one has that 'slight, contemplative confusion' conveyed by the minimalistic features (and oh hey, a return of the 'nose marking that kinda looks like a mouth'! :DDD) very well haha

As for the more detailed one, I think you nailed it!
The combination of emotions you've described in the Tumblr post is rather difficult to combine but I'd say it looks pretty accurate to it! 🤔 :DDDD
(I also love how he has a very slight 'owo'-ness to his mouth's shape, highly accurate to how much of a freaking smug/proud cat-dad he is here lmao 😂)
The slight unhingeness is also noticeably there, so that's good haha (poor guy's just Big Proud but Spooky™)

And hM, the hand isn't that bad honestly - that angle is weird to draw/imagine, and hands are Hard™
(why hands hard when most of the time is IS hands that draw hands??? Eternal Think™),
you can tell what's going on, the fingers aren't unnaturally crooked, and the overall position of it understandable so that's good 👍👍👍!

(I mean I myself am not an expert lmfao, f. e. there is a Big amount of times I misinterpreted the position of the hand somewhere and had to like, fix a character accidentally having two right hands for example 😂 - but yeah my Amateour Opinion still stands)

I also as always verily appreciate the wowowowowo detail on clothes AND even a BACKGROUND?? Now that's dedication haha :DDDD

  SIkuna has given me the impression that he would not pass up the opportunity to get barrelled over by a tactical doggo in a non-hostile setting, so he is getting floored.
  Proud and Smug isn’t actually that difficult of a combo to do expression wise, adding the unhinged aspect to it though…
  Unintentionally appearing unhinged SIKuna is best SIkuna. (Also the cat vibes were definitely intentional, even Canonkuna gave me some of those vibes)
  It’s specifically hands that have the pinky facing the camera that I have trouble with, especially because I tend to use my own hands as reference and I can’t get those poses without use of a mirror.
  I simply cannot resist backgrounds when doing anything remotely detailed that isn’t a character reference sheet.
  (Also Sukuna’s hair hated me in this drawing for some reason? It was fine in the other ones, but the lines just refused to cooperate.)
  There will be more eventually! I’m pretty sure both me and the other person on this site who’s been drawing things for this AU are just looming ominously, waiting for the next part.

  You’d think the confused adorable doggo would throw off the unintentional menace of SIkuna at least a little bit, but apparently not.
  Also, I feel that in my soul. I lost one of my dogs a little over a year back, and he used to do stuff like that too.
  On a less sad note. The next drawing I do is gonna be a full rendered one, so look forward to that. (I’ve got like a week to do it before my time gets eaten by college classes :P)

Oh wOW oh WOah oh holy macaroni that's amazing!!!??? :OOOOOOOOOO :DDDDDDDDDD

First thing that definitely immediately jumps at the eyeballs is the Incredibly Cool fire!!
By itself it already looks absolutely fantastic (that sure is fire!! Maaagic fire at that!) but also the lighting coming off it really sells it!! :DDD
It's also clearly indeed a spiral haha, very accurate!
And I love the effect you showed with his fingers + claws showing up under the flames kinda shadowed and contrasted (almost looking scorched, even, here even though that's obviously not the case lol) and the way the fire is flowing between the fingers in the same hand as well - and the way it spirals by the other hand!! :O

And oh hey he is indeed having fun haha - I mean who wouldn't tbf he's literally doing something people dream of lol; playing with fire literally! :DDD

(Honestly if he had the chance and wasn't worried about accidentally (if temporarily since he'd probably also heal it instantly) maybe??(probably not actually) burning the hell out of Yuji's body, I can definitely imagine him trying to take a dip in like, lava 😂
Or just playing with it like clay once he remembers that lava is way too dense to swim in 😂
Alternatively, he may find a way to break the laws of physics even more just to actually swim in it lmfao-)

I mentioned it before (like twice lol) but it needs repeating; I loVE the posing! You get a feeling that this is both effortless and yet he's clearly concentrated on it!! Very Cool indeed! 👏

I greatly appreciate the full background, too!
Even isolated the whole thing would have been amazing but that sure adds to the overall piece and atmosphere haha :DDDDD

The trees/the darkness + cut up wooden slices around the spot sure do make for a spooky feeling,
and though we as readers (and writer lol) know well that Megumi has nothing to fear (even aside of the Vow) I can definitely imagine being kiiiiinda scared when Basically The Devil decides to pull out freaking hellfire and proceeds to play around with it like it's a malleable substance 💀 (and make a freaking campfire with it as well lmfao)

I brought up lighting earlier too, but woWIE that's some good lighting!! You can clearly tell that the point of highest intensity is the flame itself and that it illuminates everything around (except ofc where there would obviously be shadow), so woW! :DDD

Overall Very Very Cool, you have indeed Cooked™ verily!!! :DDDDD

  As always, thank you (for both writing the fic and for the praise because :D) and you’re welcome!
  Also yeAH, Fire! I certainly had a fun time getting the shape and overall flow of it to look the way it does. Lighting was a bit awkward because my brain refused to envision how it would curl around the objects (SIkuna and the background), so I kinda winged it and prayed it turned out ok.
  I looked at a few shots from the anime of Sukuna using it in Shibuya to get a better idea of what I was going for, saw the way his fingers had that scorched effect when he used the fire arrow, and decided to emulate it. I like the way it turned out (plus it meant I didn’t have to cover up most of the hand I was actually satisfied with with fire :D)
  Ah yes, the age old desire to find out what it feels like to plunge an entire arm into lava to find out what lava feels like outside of burning agony. (Honestly he probably could and would…)
  Background was fun to do, took me a bit to figure out if I wanted to try painting it or do something similar to what I did for the last full piece I did for this series. I ended up doing a mix of the two. I also wasn’t too sure where I was going with the colour scheme of the background, because I was t entirely sure just how dark the overall scene was to begin with (The sky is overcast and they are beneath a bunch of trees, but I don’t think it was quite nighttime, so I took a guess)
  One day I might draw fully coloured/shaded SIkuna not being a spooky menace. (Maybe..)
  But until then I shall return to the void until the next time I show up to present you (or the other SIkuna writers) fanart.
  (I feel like I’m doing the artist’s equivalent of a cat bringing someone it likes a small dead animal before promptly fucking off again)
