Chapter Text
Like stars falling from the sky, he was captivated. Craig couldn't tear his gaze away from what he was seeing even if it saved his life. Across the hall, past the sea of tired teenaged idiots, was art like Craig had never seen. Every inch of him was beautiful, mesmerizing in a way he never knew a person could be.
Hair like golden honey, messy and untamable. The strands were dashing in every direction, sweeping along his brow bone, sticking out in the back straight up, tucked behind his left ear and curling up to touch his cheek, the right side completely flat like he'd slept on it.
Skin like fresh snow, dusted in soft freckles across the bridge of his nose and over round, pink cheeks. Craig's never seen someone so pale before, so light that the veins beneath stood out so beautifully down his arms. Well one arm, his left sleeve was pulled up to his elbow while the right sagged past his knuckles. The dark hue of his sweater only accentuated how fair he was.
His legs were long and lean, hidden beneath dark denim with twin rips in his knees. They looked natural, like the work of art fussing with his locker had fallen and torn the knees of his jeans. Though his legs were long the rest of him wasn't, a short torso stacked on top of legs that went for miles. His fingers were long as well, boney and thin as one of his hands tangled into the mess of locks on his head to tug at the flattened side.
It had only been for a brief second, but Craig had seen his eyes as well. The most harmonious blend of green and hazel, flecks of gold around his pupils. Those vivid eyes had flashed in Craig's direction as he darted his gaze around the hallway, a twitch to his right eye as he let out a small noise.
Each movement he made was abrupt and lacked fluidity, it was impossible to look away as he shoved items inside his locker and fought with his backpack. It had slid off his arm and onto the floor at one point, the thud of it making his entire body jolt as he yelped. Craig felt like he was watching an art piece, something intriguing and desperate to be understood.
With a huff the blond slammed the locker closed, clearly startled by his own action and the noise it created. He twisted around in a rough movement, his shoulder shooting up briefly in a full body twitch as he hugged a textbook to his chest. Their eyes locked and Craig smiled softly, his heart pounding as the blond smiled back at him.
“You haven't even-grr!-gotten your stuff f-for class yet!” He basically screamed, his voice somehow high pitched and gruff at the same time. The sound of it making butterflies swarm in Craig's stomach.
“I was distracted,” he said flatly, watching the jerky movements that brought the art in human form force his way through the other bodies in the hall towards him.
“Well get your shit together, man!” He growled, brows furrowing as he pouted, “I don't want to-gah!-be late again!”
Craig breathed out an amused exhale through his nose, prying his eyes off the gorgeous creature to fetch his things for the first period. With his notebook and textbook under his arm he extended his hand towards the blond, he fumbled with his own belongings for a moment. Nearly dropping everything and spitting out loud noises, until finally their fingers were laced together.
Electricity shot up Craig's arm, warmth burrowing in his chest. Those brilliant eyes flashing up to meet Craig's gaze, “come on dude!” He tugged at Craig's arm, basically dragging him down the hallway towards their class. Craig could do nothing but gaze at his boyfriend, the most beautiful work of art he's ever seen and will ever see.
