Chapter Text
It was late, mostly everyone was sleeping already. Unfortunately, God doesn’t get any sleep because he doesn’t need any. Working on paperwork, he mumbles to himself as he signs his name on a paper.
As he continues the write down random notes he barely notices his door opening. Small footsteps approach him, “Dad..?”
He raises his head and looks at a very very short angel, “What the— Lucifer?”
Soft sniffles and red eyes stare at him. Lucifer had wrapped a blanket around his body, dragging it with him from his room to God’s office.
“What time is it? Isn’t this the time you angels are asleep?”
Lucifer frowns, “I had a nightmare.”
“Oh jeez.” He shakes his head.
Lucifer’s frown deepens, “Can I sleep in here?”
God stares at Lucifer for a good minute, noticing stray tears about to spill. He places his pen on his desk, “Lucifer, I don’t have a bed. I don’t sleep.”
The younger one tightens the blanket around his body, “Well can’t you speak one into existence, like how you did with light, or something? I already brought my blanket.”
Silence takes place before a long sigh escapes God’s mouth. And waves his hands in the air creating a dramatic effect, “Ok, fine.”
With the snap of his fingers, a small bed appears against the wall. He points to it, “Go to sleep. I can’t have you stay up too late before you get used to it.”
Lucifer turns around and quickly drops the blanket he had. He jogs to the bed and grabs the ends of it, “Why’d you put it so far?!”
God watches as Lucifer drags the bed closer and closer until the bed is literally right next to him. He continues to watch as Lucifer grabs his blanket and hops onto the bed. He tucks himself in, making himself cozy.
“... Are you serious?” He stares down at Lucifer.
The other hums, “Okay, good night.”
Lucifer closes his eyes and he hugs the blanket close to him. God leans back into his chair, “Good night, Luci.”
He gets a hum in return. He sighs and shakes his head before straightening his back to return to his paperwork.
