Chapter 1: Pick two More

Chapter Text

So Lucifer has been staying at the Hazbin Hotel for a little now, and he's been bonding well with everyone. Well, mostly everyone. He gets along with Husk (Kinda), and Angel Dust is overall friendly with everyone. Of course, he gets along with his daughter and her girlfriend. Even Niffty! Maybe.

But this one person in the hotel always manages to get on his nerves. That damn bellhop, Alastor. Can't keep his mouth shut and can't stop bragging. The two are constantly arguing, fighting, and challenging each other. Which led to the current situation of the tense battle of Uno.

"Oh, my fucking— kill yourself."

Lucifer glares at the man across the table as he picks up two cards from the draw pile. Alastor snickers, "It seems like we already know the winner."

Lucifer places a red card down, now only having nineteen cards. He looks up at Alastor, who also places a red card. He has five cards.

The two continuously place down red cards, with Lucifer carefully watching as Alastor creeps down to three cards... Then two cards... Then, one card.

"Uno!" Lucifer shouts and smirks.

Alastor glares at the man, "Hm."

The strawberry pimp picks up two cards from the pile and stares at them. Lucifer grins and looks down at his own cards. He had a wild card, two draw fours, three draw twos, a reverse card, plenty of skip cards, and regular numbered ones.

When he looks back up, Alastor is already staring at him, "It's your turn."

Lucifer's eyes widen, and he nods. He places down a skip card and watches as Alastor's neutral face shifts into an annoyed one. With a broader smile, he places another skip card and another.

Alastor watches as he places down multiple skip cards at once. He scoffs, "Are you done yet?"

Lucifer hums, "Nope!"

He places down five more skip cards until he finally puts down a regular one. Alastor sighed and placed down a blue card, changing the color from red to blue. Lucifer places down a blue reverse card.

"... Are you serious." Alastor nearly crumples his cards.

Lucifer smirks before placing down a regular blue card. Alastor stares nastily at the other before placing down a blue card, "U—!"

"Uno!" Lucifer beats Alastor to it again.

Alastor scowls, "You damn insolence."

Lucifer laughs, "Pick up two!"

Alastor glares and picks up two cards. His eyebrows raise as he looks over his new cards. Lucifer places down a draw two card, "Pick two more."

Alastor chuckles and throws another draw-two card, "Pick up four."

"Haha!".  Lucifer burst out in a mocking laughter before a mischievous look crossed his face, "Pick up,"

He dramatically flicks a card up before slamming it down, "eight!"

Alastor chuckles and stares at the man across from him. He's covering his mouth and laughing. Humming, Alastor stills his own laughter, "Pick up..."

Lucifer looks up at the other, face slowly turning from victorious to dread.

"... Pick up twelve."

Alastor places a draw of four cards in the pile. Lucifer's jaw drops.

Snickering escapes Alastor's mouth, "Cat got your tongue?"

Lucifer scoffs before he forces a strained smile, "Kill. Yourself."

He picks up one card and slams it on the table before getting another and slamming it down. He continues the action until he gets twelve.

Lucifer throws a numbered card before looking at Alastor again. The man hums, "Oh, right!"

Alastor flicks a card to the table, "Uno."

Lucifer stares at the other, looking to see the man with no more cards in his hands.

"What the— Are you serious!?"

Alastor laughs before getting up, "Better luck next time!"

He disappears into the shadows, leaving Lucifer stunned in shock.
