Chapter Text
I can always feel her gaze on me.
I suppose it’s supposed to be a comfort.
I know she loves me.
She doesn’t like me though.
Her love is unconditional,
That's almost why it’s worse.
Her love leaves my shoulders bruised.
Her halo blinds her to the point,
She can’t see her wings weighing me down
A subtle ache to the cuts and bruises,
The ones she didn’t notice.
She didn’t know any of them would last.
A picture of pure kindness
She truly does want to help
She is an angel that much I know
A bright shining halo above her head,
And white wings from behind her back
She’s an Angel surely,
Just not a guardian Angel.
The angels sent god's son down
They knew he would be killed
And in that I find solace,
Am I to be wrapped in the same brambles?
Am I to be burned for the greater good?
Her love, a bittersweet symphony,
Its melody plays upon my heartstrings.
For even angels can be mistaken, unaware,
Their gentle touch sometimes stings.
Her love's embrace, a double-edged sword,
A paradox I struggle to decipher, unhidden.
In her eyes, I'm the center of her world,
Her reason to be.
Yet the weight of her presence lingers,
Her love, a constant reminder of what I am.
Oh, how I long to release her from blame,
For she's an angel with a heart so true.
She is my angel, perfect and divine,
I embrace her, my dear angel of love,
Knowing that her intentions are pure and true.
Her legacy will be hung in gold,
A legacy of pain, forever haunting,
Covered by kindness etched in an angel's love.
