Chapter Text
Being considered the ‘prettiest boy in Japan’ is good, right? Endless compliments, getting things for free the moment you asked, being able to date whoever you want whenever you want. Hell, you don’t even need to try hard to get attention because people will already give it to you.
Well, those things are considered true. But don’t think that those things balance out the fact it’s still a living hell.
Not only are you unable to get a single second to yourself with the creeps following you every single place you go and those stupid fucking camera men (or even just normal people really) constantly taking picture of you like you were some kind of super amazing person who just solved cancer or world hunger, but people insist on pampering you like you’re some kind of fucking child.
Yea, that’s my life. My name is Saiki Kusuo, and my life could practically be considered a movie shoot at this point, some people even confused it for a movie shoot once. I still remember it vividly. Because . . . well, I do. Don’t question my brain.
Currently, I’m walking to school on a normal Monday.
As far as I could remember (which is pretty far if you asked me), people had always turned their head to look at me when I walked anywhere, but I never bothered to smile at them or even acknowledge them in any way, I just kept walking. I never really did, because why bother smiling at people I never met? I don’t even like smiling to my friends or family, let alone with random people on the street.
I know I sound self-absorbed, arrogant, annoyed and annoying, and that you think I’m a total asshole (which I’m not, I just prefer to be more reserved. Although I agree I’m arrogant) and you hate me, but how about you try living a life where people constantly praise the fact you raised a finger just because of your looks? You get little to no sense of achievement, and everything’s easy because you don’t even need to do it. Hell, at this point the hardest thing in my life was getting everything.
Besides it doesn’t really matter if I’m an asshole, because people would still like me either way.
Although, luckily, recently my older brother (who although was pretty annoying and constantly comparing me to him, was super reliable) had been able to invent devices that made my looks less visible and look more average, although it was quite obvious I was still prettier than the average person, so the school liked me a decent enough amount to make me feel kind of normal (not really, I was still the center of attention).
As I entered the school, 8 other classmates ‘oh’d upon my sight, 8 to be exact. That adds 8 to around 70,281. Yea, I kept count of pure boredom. Well, it’s a good way to distract myself sometimes. I recommend this for anything you have that still continuously grows in number.
Being a psychic; it’s pretty amazing, most people would assume.
Well, congrats, you’re right! For the most part anyway, there is a small part that’ll totally make your life feel like hell, like the fact you can hear everybody’s thoughts within a 200meter radius (while wearing limiters anyway), and I mean everybody. You can hear the weird, perverted thoughts of your fellow high school classmates, hell you could even hear rats.
Butttt, aside from that it’s great to be a psychic! You can win whatever you want, teleport wherever fly wherever you want, and everything else! And I’ve made a few changes to the real world, which you’ll probably find out if you continue reading. Please continue reading and leave kudos. Yes, the creator is shamelessly self-advertising.
Since this is a story, you can’t really see my appearance. I mean, my appearance is pretty similar to the original me. Just less prettier, because god, the original me looks like a goddess that could practically be compared to Aphrodite. But I do wear limiters and glasses designed by a super smart genius, you probably know how they look since you’ve seen both the limiters and the glasses before. I’ve used my Mind Control on the world to make them think that this is normal.
That’s why I (unfortunately) don’t get much attention, let it be positive or negative. I’m kind of just the average girl, to most people on first glance anyway. But I guess it’s better than being swarmed with people begging me to do things for them.
Anyway as we speak (or as I speak while you read), I’m currently heading to school for another average day of school, and once I get home I’ll have to go to cram school, but cram school and normal school is better than dealing with my weirdo of a brother and my (practically non-existent) parents begging me to do things for them.
School has always been nice to me; although I don’t get much attention, most people’s likeability for me is a good decent amount and is enough for them to get me semi-expensive gifts on my birthday or greet me with a ‘hello’ or a nod when they see me.
I finally reached the gates of the school, where Mister Matsuzaki was busy yelling at a female background character for having a too short skirt that violated the dress code, I gave a small smile which he did not return as I entered the school gates.
“Good grief, these girls aren’t going to leave me alone, are they?” A voice thought, it belongs to a male. It sounded nice though, it was deep and reminded me of a walk under the moon on a cold night. What he said most definitely wasn’t nice though.
I looked at the source of the voice, to find it was Kusuo Saiki. I’ve heard of him from my friend Chiyo before, who’s totally head over heels for him because of his looks (whether or not he actually looks good, I’ll never know because my psychic abilities just make me see flesh), and says that he’s just ‘reserved,’ and I did believe her for a while. But now I know it; he’s a total jerk that doesn’t even try to act nice for his fangirls and just acts like they’re a brick wall.
Honestly, had he been average then he’d be chasing after them! Oh, I do hope that happens to him. A sudden glow down and suddenly he’ll be glad that a girl even bothered to look at his direction.
“I know that I seem rude, and you’re probably thinking ‘if you were average, then you’d be chasing after those girls’!”
What, is he a mind reader?
“But even if I did have a glow down,” I’m sorry? “I wouldn’t want to date anybody. That’s my wish, I want to have a glow down. I’ve even tried to make myself look uglier so that nobody would bother look at my direction, but whatever I did just made me seem better in the eyes of others.”
Jeez, what’s up with this guy? He might be handsome, but he sounds like a total weirdo.
“I know I sound like a weirdo-”
Okay, he definitely has some kind of powers aside from being pretty. The hell is up with him and thinking an answer to my personal thoughts?! This isn’t an anime, it’s a story for god’s sake! The author needs to stop this!
