Work Text:
“Honestly why are they even still in this school, all they do are destroying stuff time after time and making trouble almost every second they’re together….”
“But if you think about it, would it be just be better if the two were separated?”
It was a late afternoon, school was supposed to end long ago, while some left, some decide to stay to study, or to gossip, in which two students sit beside class windows, talking while looking at the sunset.
“Honestly, they should really-“
“What did you say?”
Suddenly a purple haired man joins the conversation, opening the classroom without making any sound prior. Walking into the room and approaching the two men, the man holds a happy yet eerie smile.
“So you suggest that they should be separated?”
“No- wait I don’t mea-“
While one of the two tries to give an explanation, the other seems to be proudly calm.
“Yeah, so what. Trouble enhances every time and it’s getting annoying-“
The sentence was quickly cut off with a knife slash from the purple haired man, a cut in the neck that was just enough to kill the man without making a mess in the classroom.
A splatter of blood hits the other student. Their face holds not only shock but a huge amount of fear. Squirming instantly, the other student tried to leave, only to be pinned down by the purple haired man, trapping all routes of escaping.
“So, should they still be separated?”
The student quickly pushes the man away into the distance, panting but showing no sign of stopping.
“Oh no… they left their bag here…”
Swiftly grabbing a tissue from the students bag, the purple-haired man wiped his blade to stop the dripping blood.
“As of you… let’s regard you as a suicide.”
He grabbed the chin of the unconscious student to check for large splatters of blood. When cleaned, he dragged them to the rooftop, looking down as the other students below played soccer. He chuckled before throwing the body down, watching as the eyes of the people slowly turn from a sincere gaze to one of horror.
“No one is going to ever separate me and Tsukasa. No one.”
A slight pause of silent as the man enjoyed the wind, before being paused by another person behind him.
“Oh god. And you couldn’t just dump him in a trash bag into a river.”
“Akito! Did you see the show?”
Akito, stood behind the man, hands in his pockets, not entirely unfazed but acts calm, as if this kind of incident wasn’t even regarded as strange anymore.
“Rui, I know you like taking risk but I don’t think-“
“Oh my god, it’s Tsukasa!”
Rui excitedly points towards somewhere in the other building of the school, watching as a certain blonde walks through the corridor while talking to his classmates alongside him.
“Sigh… I have one more to throw away today. Can you distract Toya for a little more than an hour?”
Akito turn around, feeling tired just thinking of the things he has to do, yet he never complains about such situations to secure his soulmate.
“I think my darling can do a pretty good job.”
Texting Tsukasa that Toya had some trouble about schoolwork was more than enough. It wasn’t like Toya was going to push Tsukasa away, and it would distract Tsukasa from the scene. A win-win situation.
“Akito I think I’m a fucking genius sometimes.”
“Sometimes.”
Akito was long gone, leaving the rooftop from the stairs. While Rui could only stare into the distance, admiring the orange sunset and the soft breeze it brought along.
“Now… I wonder who’s next?”
———
“Rui…did you hear about the suicide a few days ago…”
Tsukasa worriedly sighs as he slumps on the table, sitting accross Rui. The whole school was getting more and more scared from the ‘suicide’ three days ago, and while to Rui it was just a mere ‘coincidence’, to everyone else, the bundled up fear wasn’t going anywhere for the time being.
“I’m sure the police are doing their best to investigate and it won’t be before long that the school sends social workers to ask if we have trauma.”
Calmly replying, Rui hummed while trying to appear as afraid as possible. It wasn’t like he didn’t know the truth or anything, but it appeared that the lie was long injected into everyone’s mind.
“Luckily I didn’t see the actually scene of the incident. I talked to Toya, it seemed like typical stress before exams. Though because of the suicide, there’s been rumours that the headmaster is thinking of delaying or potentially cancelling exams.”
That wasn’t important. And if the exam was cancelled, then so be it. It meant more time to bond and be together with Tsukasa.
“As it says, Toya has been telling me that many of his classmates has either been falling sick or just straight up missing weeks of school. It’s somehow worrying…”
This made Rui look away from the window. He rose his head from resting on his hand and looked towards Tsukasa with curious yet mischievous eyes.
“How does Toya feel then? Is he scared particularly?”
“He said that even though he’s scared, he can’t do anything. It wasn’t lit there was a particular reason. As long as he’s doing his best, there’s nothing to be scared of.”
“Hm.”
Rui stared at Tsukasa with a soft smile as the orange sunset compliments the blonde’s orange eyes, glowing a small tint of twilight on his cheeks.
“Speaking of which, do you know where Yuki is? She said some mean things to me but after that she’s been missing… I kinda want to-“
“I’ll be going to see Akito, I’ll see you later Tsukasa.”
As Rui waves goodbye to Tsukasa while walking away, he hissed quietly before dumping his carton of milk into the trash.
———
“You’re getting obvious.”
“… he doesn’t know it’s me yet. I’ll stay low for now. I guess.”
Akito leaned against a wall. And even though he tries his very best to look calm, his tight grip over his juice box tell it all.
“Is Nene with Toya now? I should probably go clean someone’s remaining…”
Asking for some clearance, Akito fishes out his handkerchief to clean his blood stains near his wrist, fortunately covered with the long sleeves.
“I can’t be gone that long, Tsukasa is going to notice.”
“I will not even question why but whatever.”
Rui turns around, though not missing the slight sulk from Akito. He thought about the days where he also doubted his skills. Chuckling softly, he pats Akito’s shoulder and gives a reassuring smile before leaving the room.
“I was cool back there-“
———
“Toya, have you seen Yuki these days…? She hasn’t been going to school for so long…”
“I haven’t but… many of my classmates aren’t going to school either and it’s worrying me a little… Tsukasa senpai I-“
And with that the door suddenly opens, revealing two people with soft smiles, yet hiding a mischievous grin.
“Akito! Rui!”
“Rui senpai, where did you go with Akito just then?”
To which the two looked at each other with a slight chuckle.
“Nothing much, just some simple clean up of trash.”
