Chapter Text
5th May, 2004
Life is a strange thing, isn’t it?
Just 2 months ago, Akutagawa Ryuunosuke had been going on with his day as normal, the same way he had done for years. He was fortunate enough to be granted with a standard 9-5 office job, two semi-loving parents, and a small 2 bedroom apartment to himself, devoid of interruption and distractions.
It may have been a lonely life, but it was a comfortable life nonetheless.
Following the present, he was now chained up in a mystery man’s basement. Tied naked, spread eagle on bed sheets that had numerous stains he didn’t want to even consider the cause for.
Suddenly, a (bent) fork probed at his pursed lips once more. The fork was connected to a hand, which was connected to an arm, which was finally connected to the reason he was here in the first place.
“You have to eat something.” the perpetrator chastised.
Growling, he hissed back, “Fuck off.”
The mystery figure sighed. To Akutagawa, he wasn’t so much a mystery. Sure, Akutagawa didn’t know his more complicated legalities, but he could tell you his name, personality, his appearance, his favourite foods and drinks, what weather he liked and disliked. Not to mention his dick size. Akutagawa didn’t like that he knew that.
“You’re too thin. I can see your ribs.” Atsushi complained.
He never liked the name Atsushi.
Ryuunosuke scoffed, “Then stop looking.”
“Why must you be difficult?”
“Because you fucking kidnapped me, that’s why.”
Atsushi placed the microwaved meal onto the bedside table, palms clenching and unclenching threateningly.
“I keep you here for your own safety.”
“I wasn’t in danger.”
Atsushi unceremoniously shuffled to his feet and stepped away.
“I have to go to work. To get money so I can feed you. Be grateful. Don’t do anything stupid.”
“I didn’t ask for this.”
“And I didn’t ask for your opinion.”
Akutagawa tugged against his restraints, “Don’t be childish. When someone comes looking for me and I get away, you won’t be so cocky.”
Atsushi grinned. It was not a comforting grin.
“It’s cute you think someone will come looking for you.”
Well, shoot.
As depressing as the thought was, it was likely his captor was correct.
His mother and father sent a text message once a year, his employer would simply send an email regarding his termination due to unauthorised absence, and he didn’t have many (or any) friends who could discover his predicament.
He was well and truly isolated from the world.
“Alright then. I’ll see you tonight yeah? I’ll untie your legs so you can use the bucket during the day if you must. I’ll give you water and food this evening.”
“Mm.”
“Kiss on the cheek?”
Atsushi loomed forward, towering over Akutagawa’s nude and sprawled out figure. Awaiting a never arriving kiss. Atsushi held his cheek above his face for nearly a full minute before giving up and moving away. He resorted to giving Ryuunosuke the not-so-innocent cheek kiss instead. He frowned.
“You’ll do it one day, I promise. You will love me.”
Snickering, Akutagawa cocked his head.
“You know what? If you had asked me out and taken me to dinner I might have even given you a chance.”
“But I was watching you for so long, I couldn’t help myself. I needed to know what you smelt and tasted like.”
Akutagawa physically recoiled, repulsed by his declaration, “Ew.”
“Don’t ‘ew’ me. It’s not gross, it’s sweet. You’re mine.”
“Is this the sixteen hundreds? I’m not anybody’s possession.”
Atsushi pouted and resumed his task at hand, releasing Akutagawa’s legs from the rope bindings. He patted him on the head.
“I’ll be leaving now. I’ll see if I can come home during my lunch break!”
“I am going to shit on your bed.”
Halting, Atsushi did a double-take, “You know that you would be the one who has to lie in it whilst i’m gone, right?”
“Are you sure you can’t just fully unchain me and let me use the bathroom? It’s not like I know the code to the door anyway, and the bathroom is like six feet away from the bed. It would also stop my legs from going numb ‘cus I could walk around.”
They stared eachother down.
“Tomorrow. Possibly. If you’re good.” Atsushi whispered softly.
He really did love Ryuunosuke. He wanted him to be happy. Of course he was doing the right thing - he didn’t have a choice. Ryuunosuke was getting far too close with his female co-worker Higuchi, the office assistant. He couldn’t allow that relationship to bloom, romantic or not, it was unacceptable.
“Why not today?”
“I would have to check the room to make sure there are no escape routes.”
“Mhm, whatever. As long as it IS tomorrow.”
“Would I lie to you?”
“Yes.”
…
Giggling, Atsushi patted Akutagawa’s cheek, “You’re right, I would. But I’m not right now, okay? Don’t worry your pretty little head.”
“I also want clothes.”
“Wow, demanding much?”
“It is a basic human necessity.”
“It isn’t a necessity, you’re being dramatic. You don’t need clothes to live-“
“-But I want them.”
Akutagawa insisted. The lack of garments made him severely uncomfortable - he felt vulnerable. He didn’t even understand why. He would not be any safer from Atsushi with clothes on. Maybe it was a mental thing? But he was not insecure either.
Anxiety is an odd thing, isn’t it?
You can’t control it, nor stop it, yet it is there. Forever, it lurks in the shadows of your mind. It was also possible Ryuunosuke was simply overthinking things. Or not. He was quite literally kidnapped, it was okay to be afraid.
“Get me clothes. Please. Just so I can wear them during the day.”
“You know I take them off you at night~”
“Yes.”
“Very well. I’ll get you some shirts or something. Size small are you? You’re thin, I can even see your ribs.”
“You have mentioned that already.”
“Oh, of course, I was trying to feed you! Heh, you can wait until later. You were being stubborn anyway.”
Atsushi confidently strolled towards the door, coat in hand, typed in the code at lightning speed and promptly left without another word.
Akutagawa exhaled.
He wasn’t exactly frightened of Atsushi - he didn’t seem dangerous, although he most definitely was. It is just an aura to him. Almost as if he has secrets buried underneath his very skin, evil secrets that could corrupt the day-night cycle and make flowers wilt upon hearing them. Something was off about him. Very off.
Average looks, yet a crooked and too-soft expression that could make your flesh tingle. Who… was he?
Where did he come from?
What does he expect in the long run for this?
…
Why Akutagawa?
