A Clump of Drabbles

Summary:

I wrote ten (plus a bonus one) drabbles. These are actually real, 100-word drabbles this time, not shortfics like many of my other "drabbles" actually were. They're roughly arranged from saddest to happiest.

1. Arwen's favorite color is blue.
2. Elwing watches the evacuation of Beleriand.
3. Elrond and Irmo talk as the cherry blossoms fall.
4. Glorfindel and Elrond meet in a hallway at night.
5. Frodo and Celebrian are close.
6. Elrohir arrives in Valinor with a poisoned wound. + bonus drabble.
7. Maglor writes songs for Elrond to sing. Years later, Bilbo does the same.
8. Lindir tells Elrond about Bilbo and Aragorn's poem about Earendil.
9. Eowyn feels insecure around Arwen.
10. A maiden has a secret she wants to tell Glorfindel.

Notes:

I heard someone on Tumblr was doing an Elrond Week. I'm pretty sure I'm one or two days late to it but here's my contribution. Most of these are Elrond-related. The ones that aren't either have Arwen or Glorfindel or another Elrond-adjacent person in them.

Major Character Death warning is for this first chapter because it mentions Arwen's death.

Arwen’s favorite color is blue. 

Her childhood bedroom is painted blue. She picks blue flowers in Rivendell’s gardens. She finger-paints blue skies, stitches blue thread, bakes blue cakes. When she comes to adulthood, her birthday dress is blue. 

Elrond dresses in red to contrast her, especially after Celebrian’s departure.

When she meets Aragorn, she’s in a blue dress. When she meets him again, the dress is thinner, translucent. The nightgown she wears on her wedding night is blue, as are the besweated sheets.

Celebrian prepares a blue-painted room for her in Valinor, but she is buried in a blue dress.
