Parenting Guide for the eldritch: How to raise your half-human child

Summary:

Cosmic Horrors and Eldritch Gods are feared as they are near impossible for the human mind to comprehend. They are timeless beings living among the stars beyond the realm of humans themselves. A veil being a barrier between them and the world itself that humans inhabit.

Well that what it supposed to be. So what happens when one some how reproduces and creates a child? A timeless being with a creature of such a finite life? Well that creates Izuku and the Eldritch Gods realize they were very unprepared for this.

All for One did not sign up for parenting duty but he will make sure his spawn survives dammit.

Notes:

Welcome to a Parenting Guide for Eldritch Gods! Did you ever wonder how the heck little eldritch Izuku made it to teenhood? Well here you can see exactly how that works in this fun slice of life with horrors beyond human comprehension but not beyond fellow eldritch horrors.

This series is part of “The Horrors you Seek” series and is considered canon to them but it is a much more light hearted spin. Since you will be following the point of view of said incomprehensible monsters who aren’t a threat to each other. There are spoilers to that series so if you want to be blind to what happens I wouldn’t recommend this but if you don’t mind or don’t enjoy horror so not interested in that, then come on in and enjoy~!

Chapter 1: Don't Crack the Egg

Chapter Text

Many call them Cosmic Horrors. Gods. Creatures beyond the human comprehension that fracture the mind of any that perceive them. Madness, chaos, and worship is a domain these beings are familiar with. Their blood is like a taint that infects the very world itself creating monstrosities that terrify the world.

Or well- That is what A’forne, the God that Consumes all expected when gave his blood to his cult. So why the heck did this one turn out to be a genuine child?!

The human woman had passed out at childbirth, too terrified to leave the house, leaving the cosmic horror a chance to look at what should have been an abomination. He was fully prepared for some half-dying monster of a creation or a disgusting creature that won’t live long in society without being exposed. Instead he just finds a very complete and adorable human looking baby with a CORE that is very much like him. An egg that still needed to be cared for and nurtured in a small package.

Oh no- It is legit his kid and not a mutated spawn of a corrupted human offspring like he had expected.

“I’m actually a father!?” He had not prepared for this.

His brother, a fellow cosmic being, could hear his bellowing as they were attached to each other by the middle. Looking over to peek into the human world from where his brother watched. Large Green eyes narrowed with confusion as they could only watch from the veil.

“Brother, that’s clearly a human child,” Y’ichi points out what would seem obvious. For all intent and purpose this should be impossible after all. A human and their kind just aren’t compatible but there was no stench of decay or death from this. No deformities besides being much too small and much too human. As if somehow his blood melded perfectly with the mothers DNA when it should have been impossible.

“Can’t you sense it? I gave my blood to those that worshiped me and this infant was created,” he argued as there was no mistaking it. He wouldn’t mistake some human child as his kid, moving his tentacles he goes to gently pull the child from the mother. Guessing should at least clean up this mess.

“Is it? Where are its tentacles?” Y’ichi questioned as allowed his own tentacles to touch it. They couldn’t physically enter the world but the fact they could do this confirmed the child was of their blood. Along with how the woman was very much aware of it’s existence.

“Probably shy, I can tell he has them they just aren’t showing,” he notes as the baby stirred. It stirs in his tendrils before opening its green eyes that seemed almost like the stars in the sky. Babies were usually much louder and screeched when born last he checked but this one clearly was an outlier. Having made no noises since birth.

“Oh he’s awake,” he points out. His brother looked intently as they fawned over this new born eldritch infant.

Then it screams and cries that the whole place seems to shake at the uncanny noise of this child. Any doubt his brother had about his brother's parentage dashed as they quickly had to fix reality before the infant brought the whole place down. Apparently the newborn was just super super hungry and A’forne had to sacrifice a limb to make it stop crying since the mother is still unconscious.

And the two eldritch gods very much realized, they had no idea what the HELL they were doing.

Human lives were a brief blimp compared to their own. If they wanted they could blink and a whole century could disappear in a moment. But with this infant they couldn’t take their eyes away from this reality at all. So currently was thankful to the few things he DID learn about the child of his.

It had been named Izuku, seen and identified as male by the mother. Despite the initial screaming and almost destroying the building once the mother was awake it seemed to have calmed down. It also seemed after studying the main reason the boy looked so human was that in a sense he was an egg.

Basically since he is a mix between human and eldritch there are a lot of incompatibilities. Humans need nine months, while Eldritch Gods are nearly timeless creatures. Hence every abomination tended to default to the human lifespan, but this perfect blend was different. The human infant seemed normal but inside there were tentacles and abnormal traits suppressed. Being allowed to develop for as long as it is needed, centuries likely but contained so can live as humanly possible.

In his opinion it likely means when he reaches human adulthood would just stop aging. Now focusing on fully developing the timeless self without the ‘shell’ being damaged easily. The humans didn’t seem to be having any chaos or issues so would be safe with this human mother.

These are just theories his brother's own subjects informed but it made the most sense. So this child would essentially be an egg for centuries able to live a normal human life without issues. Meaning he could leave him alone with no issues, yet he still couldn’t find himself looking away. Even when that woman seemed to abhor his presence, even daring to tell his brother to leave. His brother listened, saying they can meet the child again when is older.

He refused to listen.

And he is glad he didn’t. As when the child went into the forest with those children he sensed something wrong with the blond child. He held the stench of fear whenever looked at Izuku these days despite the fact the boy was as human as him. Could he not tell the difference between fear of the unknown? Did he have any good reason to fear an infant eldritch who doesn’t even know who he is yet?

It did not matter to him as regardless they harmed his child.

They cracked its shell.

And he saw red. He could remember his child’s banshee scream as the tentacles that weren’t fully developed tried to spill out. He was hurting, the rocks had stabbed into Izuku and they had the audacity to think they were in the right. So it only natural he would kill these brats-

Why did his son beg him to leave them alone?

He doesn’t understand. But he left that Bakugou child alive, he just hopes he doesn’t regret it. Allowing the parents to come but making sure to erase the identity of the boys he did kill. Didn’t need them getting suspicious and poking around but it seemed he might have pushed the mother -Inko was it?- to her breaking point.

As she watched over their ailing son she grew more and more terrified. He didn’t understand why she was so scared, of course he was sick. He was injured and his shell was cracked so his body was fragile yet she looked at the child as if was a monster.

“If you won’t care for him, then I will.” He gave his warning not wishing for his spawn to suffer more. But it seems he underestimated the humans' will to be erratic and unpredictable when they perceive him. As she played the part of a good mother that he didn’t even realize what the knife was even for until it was too late.

And she broke that egg.

Well shit.

Failing step one. His son’s egg had basically been cracked so his mostly human diet, needs and everything had turned into a much more difficult task. Especially now that the mother had been sent away to the human hospital it took a lot of reality bending to prevent them from taking the child. Thankfully he had already created the fake identity of Hisashi Midoriya as the father of Izuku.

“I can’t believe you cracked it,” Y’ichi noted as if he had PURPOSELY allowed this to happen. He was trying to avoid this exact thing from happening!

“I did no such things. The humans did first the brats then that woman,” A’forne hisses as the toddler had been so distressed and crying while still suffering. Now he had to feed, clothe and care for it despite the fact he isn’t even physically there fully.

“I told you to leave them alone. You were only going to stress them out until they broke,” he points out. A’forne tried not to sneer at his brother who left at the first mention of the woman asking him to leave. They had issues with him not with their son, how could he expect them to lash out at Izuku in such a way.

“It’s too late now for the blame game, just- Help me with him. He’s been crying and I remember you used to sing him lullabies until she asked you to leave. He needs it,” he was disgruntled but seeing his spawn crying and miserable was worse.

Y’ichi lets out a low hum. But then agreed because in the end he cares about his nephew deeply to pierce the veil as izuku was once again crying wondering why his mom had hated him. It was a quiet rumble at first to the human ear. It likely sounded like a terrifying quake but it was a soothing coo to those like him. Izuku looked up with wet-filled green eyes, trembling as the walls and floor of his room began to breathe after so long of silence.

“It’s ok it isn’t your fault,” Y’ichi coos softly allowing a tendril to emerge from the corner of Izuku’s bed and stroke his head. His humming was soft and careful as the small boy trembled at first almost afraid, likely because it has been so long since seen him. “There there… You’re not alone, we got you.”

Izuku cried harder at those words moving to hug or cling to the appendage despite their slick nature and while they don’t understand humans. They knew at the least.

They wanted to understand family.

Notes:

As you can see there is some fun. Some sads, and wholesome eldritch horror fun. And yes All for One fed Izuku a whole limb, no he didn’t need to do that he panicked. Yoichi had to watch that against his will wondering what the hell.

Izuku might have a taste for his fathers flesh but let's not worry about that. LOL!

Omake:

Did not plan this.

Y’ichi: Did you just feed a newborn a whole LIMB!?

AFO: I panicked when he started screaming. It's a fatherly instinct!

Y’ichi: You could have just fed him milk or something! He seemed to enjoy that, what kind of side effects would giving him a limb have? That a lot of food for such a tiny body-

AFO: It’s fine! He won’t even remember it.

Toddler Izuku: -bites AFO Tentacle when sees it-

AFO: ……….

Y’ichi: Well I for one encourage him to be a patricidal cannibalistic Eldritch.

AFO: DON’T ENCOURAGE IT! WE’RE ATTACHED!!!

Y’ichi: He won’t have a taste for me I’m sure~

AFO: WE’RE THE SAME!
