::: ALEC POV :::

It all happened so fast. All I remember was getting called over by riya, to open that damned coconut. “Connor?”, “I didn’t think anyone else was here, ill go-“. The voice of myself and Connor flash through my head. \

“That was fun. I’ll see you later, Alec.” I snapped back into real life, watching as Riya gets up from the log and walks away. And yet again, I’m met by loneliness. As much as I love it, at this moment, the sound of the silence in my ears hurts.

I realised how fast my breathing was, as I took in a deep breath. I got up from the log, and decided to go for a walk to clear my mind. Maybe going to see the rest of my team would take my mind off it.

So, there I went. I travelled over to the campsite, sitting down on one of the logs. I put my head in my hands, again spacing out. Why do I feel hurt? Why do I feel, disgusted? All it was’ a kiss. But unlike the first time, the kiss felt bad. It felt gross.

Her taste lingered in my mouth, did I really want to kiss her? No.. no, I didn’t. It didn’t feel right. I didn’t want it, but Riya isn’t that type of person, right? I had to distract myself, and fast… but the overwhelming guilt of Connor seeing us broke me.

I had tried so hard to mend my friendship with Connor, but it kept getting worse.

My thoughts were disturbed by the sound of the speakers blaring, Kristals voice coming through. As she informed us she had hid an immunity totem around, I quickly got up from my spot going into the forest to search.

Soon, I noticed Grett searching by herself. I knew I had to talk to her about the alliance, so I approached her.

“Found anything?” I called.

“Nope..” she says, slightly disappointed.

“Say grett, we’re still… cool, right?” I said, trying to keep my cool. Although it came out more nervous and shaky, Grett was able to tell something was off.

“What do you mean?”

“Gabby leaving means the heroes have the upper-hand. We need to stay loyal to eachother.” I explained.

“Loyaltys a funny thing, isn’t it Alec?” she responds in a sarcastic tone, leaving me a bit confused

“Huh?” I let my arms fall down to my side, a look of hurt but mainly confusion plastered on my face.
