Naturally Occurring Monster Making Condition

Summary:

Scott struggles with a disorder he got from his mother through birth, which gets triggered by stressful situations.

Having your older brother try suing your parents for every crime in the law supposedly counts as one.

Notes:

This is basically a “why Scott’s like this” fic XD

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Scott was just enjoying his day. It was normal. He was normal. Sure, he was a little smarter than the average person, good at social stuff, overall a naturally skilled person, not to mention born into a comfortable family.

His eyes were trained on his phone, when he got the notification. “Your Older Brother’s trying to sue us for child neglect. -Father”

What?

Sure, his parents forgot him once or twice, but surely it wasn’t that bad for Xornoth?

They may have focused on Scott’s grades a little more, since they were better, but that wasn’t child neglect, it wasn’t like they left him out of any of the celebrations.

It was probably Xornoth being jealous. Whatever.

“You’re gonna have to walk to school, Scott, I know it’s a while away but this is important, I’m sure you understand. -Father” what. School was ages away!

That was when everything had changed for Scott, when he was in Year 5 or 6, he wasn’t fully sure. He didn’t think to remember it at the time.

But then after that court case Xornoth started another, accusing them of thievery.

Then he started another, Scott not being allowed to even know what that crime was.

The next time, he didn’t even ask.

The time after that, his parents started explaining to him how they’d have to move elsewhere so he could live closer to a school.

A new house, a new school, and parents who were very distracted by Xornoth. He was on his own.

That was one way to trigger an stress-triggered disorder.

He’d describe himself differently now, a person with power at his school, worshipped, wealthy. Perfect. A being the school were lucky to have.

He was a God. Practically.

He occasionally looked at the meds on his bedside table- his parents hadn’t even noticed that he hadn’t taken any in a while, even after he had originally asked for them.

He didn’t need medication, he had people falling at his feet for him. He was perfect.

He was Scott.

Notes:

He IS Scott. He really should take that medication tho.

I don’t think Martyn’s gonna make him take it –_—
