Notes:

This is for Fic in a Box this year! The medium that c_art asked for was a Craftwork: Amigurumi or Softie but in the notes said a pattern would be welcome. So as I made Nightwing and Haley I wrote my pattern and included it here.

These were a lot of fun to make and definitely pushed my skills and made me think in a different way. Ask any questions in the comments and I will do my best to answer them!

Feel free to do whatever you want with the pattern for your own personal use but (1) do not sell anything made from this pattern or (2) alter and post a pattern based on this (ask permission and I will likely approve patterns).

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

The body picks up where the legs end so the round count will as well.

Round 20: Starting in the first stitch in the previous row and the last stitch, sl through both. Repeat with the second and second to last from previous row. Repeat across closing the arm (4)

Sew arms onto the body 4 rows down from where the head color change happens.

Hair

Start in color 1 (black)

Round 1: 6 sc into magic circle (6)

Round 2: 2 sc in each around (12)

Round 3: *sc two in one, sc* repeat around (18)

Round 4: *sc 2, sc two in one* repeat around (24)

Round 5: *sc two in one, 7 sc* repeat around (27)

Rounds 6-9: sc around (27)

Finish off and leave a long tail

Use the tail to sew the wig cap onto the head. Using what’s left of the tail and another length if needed embroider stitches around the hairline to give him some loose strands.

Cut a bunch of three inch strands of the black yarn and use a latch hook knot to fill out the hair. Start with putting one every second or third stitch along the hairline and then begin filling in the rest of the head. Do not put one in every stitch but spread them out throughout the head spacing them to cover but not over crowd. Trim as needed.

Cut out the mask piece in black felt and the eyes in white felt. Glue the eyes onto the mask and then the mask onto the face.

Cut out the chest, back and shoulder pieces in blue felt and glue onto the body of the doll.

Sew the head, legs, and tail onto the body. Haley’s front leg goes on the right when looking at her (her left front leg).

Cut out her mask and nose from the black felt and the mask eyes from white felt. Glue the eyes onto the mask and then the mask and nose onto the dog.

Cut out the cape from the blue felt and then either use a running stitch to weave a strand of embroidery floss through the top edge of the cape. Tie around her neck.
