Dick makes a startled noise and skitters away from him, eyes wide. Bruce tucks the syringe away and holds his hands up in surrender.
“I’m sorry that hurt,” he says again. “It’s just a sedative, I promise.”
“What the fuck,” Dick says, strangled.
“I’m taking you back to the Manor,” Bruce explains, staying low and unthreatening so he doesn’t frighten Dick more than necessary. “You’ll be safe there.”
“Are you crazy?!”
Sometimes Bruce thinks so.
In the wake of Jason Todd’s death, Bruce descends to madness.
