Work Text:

“Forget him, please” was the last thing Marcoh thought about the Von Dutch. Funnily enough to himself, since he simply couldn't stop thinking about him . The boxer wished he could just punch his own face repeatedly until Daniël faded from his head. Well, there's nothing preventing him from doing it anyway. It isn't that easy.

His situation became worse when everyone was back at the train to get more clothes. Some of them, like Karin and Olivia, wanted to clean themselves at the lake nearby. Fair enough, considering the awful conditions of the Old Town and of Prehevil. Dust, blood, rotten flesh, corpses and garbage everywhere , it's perfectly understandable the need of a simple bath.

Tanaka said earlier that he and Levi would be searching through the Old Town for leftovers and munitions for Levi’s rifle, August went to the forest, the girls decided to bathe together, O’Saa’s whereabouts are a mystery and Henryk suddenly disappeared. They needed people to watch over their stuff inside the train. Daan and Marcoh .

The doctor wanted to stay outside for a smoke and Marcoh decided to do the same, except for the smoking part. He never had the opportunity to try and he was truly thinking about giving it a chance because of a certain man.

“Fuck…” his voice came out low, but quite audible.

“Something’s wrong…?”

“Just thinking more than I should. I’ll be fine.”

Silence. The wind blew gently, refreshing them and messing a bit with Daan’s bangs. Marcoh discreetly watched the other man fix his hair, combing the strands using his free hand, slender and elegant fingers disappearing in the grayish blue. A simple thing like that flustered the boxer. How is it possible for a man to be so magnetic? Marcoh cleared his throat and hoped to not startle the doctor who’s smoking so peacefully.

Then, his body betrayed his mind.

“D’you have another cigarette?”

“Never came to my mind that you smoked, Marcoh.” the doctor shyly smiled.

“Because I don't.”

“So, it was an excuse to talk to me?”

Marcoh almost choked with his own saliva. Yes, it was an excuse, but he didn't think that it was too obvious . Another situation where he wished he could just punch his face.

“I’m joking. Here, please, take one.” Daan showed him an open box with some cigarettes. “ Het spijt me ”

He didn't understand the last part, but Marcoh wouldn't ask what it meant anyway.

“I’m assuming you don't know the proper way to smoke, am I right?” the boxer confirmed. “Okay, I’m going to teach you then. Please, keep in mind I’m not the best at teaching things.”

“ ‘m sure you’ll make me understand.”

Daniël took a deep drag of his cigarette and then landed his gaze on the boxer’s expression. He’s sure an interesting man.

Maybe he could give him a chance.
