Summary:

Buck takes care of Tommy after bringing home from the hospital.

Notes:

Work Text:

Evan helped his injured boyfriend into their house, Tommy groaning as he tried to make his way to the couch. “Nope!” Buck yelled and he apologized when Tommy groaned. He steered Tommy towards their bedroom and helped him into the bed.

“I would have been just fine on the couch, Evan,” he protested. Grunting, he let Evan fluff his pillows.

“You took care of me after I was injured so I’m just returning the favor. And you’re better off in the bed, anyway. You heard what the doctor said.”

Tommy leaned back against the pillows, grudgingly admitting to himself they were more comfortable. “Yes, I did. And so did everyone else.” He still couldn’t believe he got this after taking a wrecking ball to his life, their relationship. But Evan had forgiven him and they were stronger, happier than ever.

“You need anything? I’ll grab you a water,” Evan offered.

“Thanks, that sounds perfect right now.” Tommy watched as his boyfriend slipped out of the room and returned with a water battle. He greedily drank some down after Evan had to open the bottle for him.

He sighed in relief when Evan sat down and refused to budge, offering him a shoulder to lean on. “You don’t have to be the strong, cool, confident one anymore, remember?”

“Yes, I remember.” Tommy glanced at him, wondering where this was going.

“So lean on me, Tommy. Please.”

Tommy eyed him warily, desperately trying to push down the trauma of the last few days. But it had bubbled to the surface and everything came pouring out of him at once, the sobs shaking his body. Evan, who had been expecting this, simply gathered Tommy into his arms and comforted him.

They leaned on each other now and were all the better for it.
