"Where is the key?" Uh-oh. In hindsight, he should have just destroyed it. But it's not like Sonic knew it was a key to the deathstar! Oh well, nothing he can do about it now but lie. Maybe this new hedgehog will believe him.
"You really think we would be that stupid to bring it with us?" They were that stupid, but Sonic thinks he has a pretty good poker face. And it's not like Shadow would know. Though, the other hedgehog didn't look convinced as orange pupils narrowed. Sonic knew he was busted when Shadow looked past him to Tails. And then Tail's bag, where the fox kept all of his gadgets... and the key.
"Yeah we are." Sonic answered his own question as Shadow reached across and grabbed the key. Which... he couldn't allow. Countless lives are at stake. Sonic moved against the chain, but there was no give. Time was running out. Who knew what else Eggman, Eggmans? Might do with the eclipse something. He needed to act now. Seeing only one option, Sonic leaned forward as far as he could, ignoring the look of surprise on Shadow's face, and chomped down on the little blue key. Just as Shadow was pulling it to his body. Sonic yanked his head back and tore the key from Shadow's hand. Not wasting any time. Sonic chewed on the device as hard as possible. And it was terrible. It was like chewing a metal lid to a trashcan. Not that he's ever done that before. He grimaced when the key cut the inside of his mouth, but he couldn't stop now. Millions of people were relying on him.
He could only chew it for about a second before a gloved hand shot out and grabbed his lower jaw. Making him unable to close his mouth. But the damage was already done. Another gloved hand forced it's way into his mouth, and grabbed the key. Which was absolutely disgusting and Sonic would have bitten down with maximum force if he could. Sonic's gags and 'yucks', were the only thing that filled the now silent room.
"You furry abomination! Do you know what you just did!?"
"Just foiled your evil plan. Oggman." When he was looked at by everyone. "You know, 'old' and 'egg', 'ogg'. Come on, that was hilarious." Whatever, Sonic doesn't care if the supervillans thought his joke was lame. They were evil so their opinion didn't matter. "Right guys?"
"Ehh"
"Not your best work, hedgehog."
"Wow, okay. Way to back a hog up." At least Tail's had the decency to give a non answer.
"Enough!" The old Eggman marched his way over here.
"Professor I..." Shadow turned towards Gerald, as the old scientist snatched the now destroyed key from the striped hedgehog. He should proably think of a escape plan now. Tails does have some rings in his bag, if he can just reach them then...
"50 years I planned this. And you destroyed it in 1 second." Well, he is the fastest thing in the universe.
"Ehh, what's 50 more years. I'm sure you'll get it next time." He smirked up at the fossil, "Though, you would be considered a dinosaur. Probably need a archeologist to dig you up."
"I'm going to turn you into a coat."
"I think you would need 20 of me. To cover all of you." Another shot, another bucket. Though he should probably stop antagonizing people when he's tied up.
The old man raised a hand, but was interrupted by Eggman. "Grandfather-o, I'm sure the key can't be that destroyed. With our combined intellect, we can fix it in no time." Sonic rolled his eyes.
"No. No. No. There is no we now. You are the one who brought this... thing here. Now the answer to my problem is gone. And it's all your fault." Oh snap. This is sure to be interesting.
Ivo's face fell for just a second before his mask went back into place, "Excuse me. But i think I just heard you say that it was, 'my fault'. Which is laughably untrue. It's not my fault your pet underestimated the resilience of the blue rat." What did he do? Actually, he did try to kill Eggman so maybe the Dr. is a little bit justified in his hatred.
Tails spoke up from besides him, "Are you just going to take that Shadow? You're no one's pet." Wow, devious little fox. Sonic is so proud. The blue blue ignored the 2 egghead's fighting and looked to Shadow. Who looked way different now. The hedgehog's eyes were wider, and he kept looking between the two scientist, though the flicker of the ear told Sonic that the new hedgehog did in fact, hear Tails.
"I'll just have to think of a new way to punish them. Maybe the plague."
"Wow. Really original. Biological warfare, who hasn't heard of that.' Ivo looked to Stone and rolled his eyes. "Not like they have vaccines for it."
"Why you..." Sonic wished he had some popcorn. But was less sure when the new Eggman looked at him. "Kill him Shadow." Only the good die young.
"Professor I... " Yes. Yes. Go on Shadow.
"Tell him what's up Shadow. We hedgehogs stick together." Shadow looked over to him. Maybe he should have just kept his mouth shut. He felt a knee dig into his back that was probably one of his brother's agreeing with his thoughts.
Gerald's face formed a deep scowl, "Don't tell me you've gone soft."
"Choosing not to kill people isn't soft. It's normal." Shadow frowned at him. Double Oh-uh. Shadow rustled around in his red streaked quills before pulling out a... marble? Honestly, there are more terrifying things i life.
"No. With your hands. I want to see the life leave his eyes." Like that.
Shadow spoke up, which was a good sign, "But-"
"But nothing! He deserves this for taking away our chance for revenge." Sonic personally doesn't think he deserves to die for saving millions of people, but he knew to keep his mouth shut right now.
"But won't killing him make me like GUN. It isn't what Maria wanted."
"It doesn't matter what Maria wanted because she's gone! And this thing just took away our only chance for revenge." Shadow's gaze hardened, Sonic really hopes that it means he's good now.
'You're my friend. You can be whoever or do whatever you want'
"No, this isn't what I want. Find someone else to do your dirty work." In a flash, Shadow was gone. Sonic let out a sigh of relief. Though, it would have been nice if Shadow united them. But he'll take not dying.
"That's okay. I'll kill you myself even if it takes me 10 hours to bash your head in with a rooooocccc-" Gerald wasn't able to finish his sentence as he feel through a portal. Sonic kicked over a ring which led to a very special mushroom planet. Eggman looked down at the portal then up at Sonic, then down again.
"You know. I never did care for family that much." With a shrug, he turned, "Come on Stone, we have work to do." Great, there goes his plans for the summer. Who knew what Egghead would be scheming.
"Uhmm sir. I'm still tied up." So is he, and his brothers. Which raises a question on how are they going to get untied.
"Of course." he looked over to Sonic, "Henchman, am I right?" Sonic just shrugged. Robotnik brought his hand up and put two fingers together before an electric current started between the two fingers. A arc of energy. "Now don't move Stone. Things might get... heated."
Stone could only watch as his boss moved his hand closer. "Apples. Apples!!!"
