Work Text:
Twilight's day was not going the way she had hoped, at all.
Her concerns about Nightmare Moon had been completely dismissed, she'd had friendship pushed onto her all day, when she finally got to the library she was supposed to stay at, she was disrupted by a surprise party from people she didn't know, and now she'd just accidentally drank a bunch of hot sauce.
She ran out of the room, her body feeling like it was on fire, and quickly made her way up into the bed that had been set out for her, trying to ignore the burning in her mouth and throat and the chatter of people being concerned over her sudden escape.
She curled up onto the bed and put a pillow over her head, hoping that no one would come into the room until she was functional again.
She was just so overwhelmed, and she felt that boiling feeling of a meltdown rising in her chest and she began to rock side to side without any real control over it, a small hum erupting from the base of her throat.
She just wanted to go home...
She knew, rationally, that what she was experiencing was a meltdown and that it was nothing more than a reaction to stress that would end in about ten to twenty minutes, but that didn't exactly make it any easier to deal with, especially without aid from someone else.
A couple times in the past, Spike or Princess Celestia would talk her down from her meltdowns, but neither of them were there with her now, meaning she had to bear through it alone, in addition to the stress about the possible impending doom of Eternal Night.
Eventually, though, she was able to breathe and hum through it, and thankfully calmed down right around the time Spike walked in to tell her about the current activities happening in the party.
She just hoped everything would turn out okay...
