Unscripted Kiss

Summary:

Jun got a supporting role in a movie, and his next scene requires him to kiss his co-star. To practice, he turns to his bandmate Dylan for help.

Notes:

I wrote this story on a whim, so please be kind and patient with me! It’s my very first work, and English isn’t my first language. I’ve gone through it and corrected the mistakes, but since I’m still learning, I’m not entirely sure about it.

As for me, “Jundylan canon !" I screamed as they dragged me to a white padded room. Please, I’m absolutely in love with their chemistry!
I really hope you enjoy their dynamic as much as I do.

Happy reading!

Work Text:

Dylan sat alone in his room, his headphones on, fully immersed in his songwriting. The only light in the room came from his desk lamp, casting a dim glow over the scattered papers and his half-empty can of energy drink. Quiet. Just how he liked it.

That is, until he heard the door creak open.

Jun strutted in like he owned the place, hands stuffed in his pockets, a mischievous grin on his face.

"What do you want, Jun?" Dylan muttered, still scribbling away in his notebook. He should have locked the damn door.

"I need your help."

Dylan didn’t look up. "Nope, get out."

Jun ignored him completely, sauntering over and plopping down on his bed.

"Oh, c’mon, you’re so boring. When’s the last time you did something exciting?"

Dylan finally turned around, giving him a flat look. "The second you leave, that’ll be exciting."

Jun gasped dramatically. "Rude."

Dylan sighed and turned back to his notebook, trying to focus. But of course, Jun wasn’t done.

"Actually, I really do need your help with something."

"I said no."

"You haven’t even given me a chance to explain.”

"Still no."

Jun rolled his eyes and pushed himself off the bed, walking up behind Dylan’s chair and leaning down to whisper dramatically.

"But, you see, I need to practice for a kissing scene I have tomorrow."

Dylan blinked, looking up at Jun in disbelief. "You came to me for this?"

Jun nodded, not missing a beat.

"Are you insane?"

"A little, Jun admitted. "But you’re the only one who won’t make it weird!"

Dylan let out a dry laugh. "Oh, it’s already weird."

"Come on, Dylan! Just a quick kiss, nothing crazy. You don’t even have to do that much."

Dylan groaned, rubbing his temples. "Why me? You have three other mates here."

"Pepper has Gam. Thame has, you know, Po. And Nano will probably pass out of embarrassment."

Dylan closed his notebook, stood up, and, without a second thought, walked toward the door.

"Good luck with your scene."

Jun grabbed his arm, pulling him back. Dylan groaned, rubbing his forehead as he tried to process what was happening. He was about to turn him down when he noticed Jun silently standing still. His eyes, however, spoke volumes; they were pleading—his expression seemed so innocent.
Dylan’s heart skipped a beat. He hadn’t expected Jun to get that serious.

"You’re not going to let this go, are you?"

Jun beamed, a smile spreading across his face."Nope." Dylan exhaled heavily, glancing up at the ceiling.

“Fine. One time. If it shuts you up.”

Jun grinned victoriously, and in an instant, they stood face to face. For a moment, neither knew what to do. Jun took a deep breath, then looked up at Dylan, trying to act confident. But Dylan wasn’t making it any easier. His deadpan expression wasn’t helping at all.

"Okay, here we go."

Jun hesitated for a second, then stepped in closer, closing the distance between them. They were just inches apart now, and Jun could feel the heat radiating from Dylan’s body. His heart pounded in his chest as he stared at Dylan’s lips, unsure whether he should be nervous or composed.

"You’re shaking." Dylan noted, his voice softer than usual.

"No, I’m not! You’re shaking!" Jun shot back quickly, though his voice betrayed him.

Dylan raised an eyebrow and moved a little closer, his lips curling into a small smirk. "Sure."

Jun stared at him before taking a deep breath. He lowered his hand to Dylan’s waist, lightly pressing his palm against his shirt. It was a small, tentative gesture, but it sent a jolt through him. Dylan froze for a second, completely thrown off by the sudden intimacy. The room felt suddenly smaller, the air charged with the weight of the moment.

They were standing there now, so close that Jun could feel Dylan’s breath against his face.

Jun leaned in, his lips barely brushing against Dylan’s, and the electrocuting sensation was strong enough to make them both pull back at the same time. But instead of stopping, they both leaned in again, a little more confident this time, and their lips met fully.

It started off slow and hesitant, but as the seconds passed, it grew more fluid. Dylan’s hands, which had been awkwardly hanging by his side, moved to the back of Jun’s neck, pulling him closer. Jun, in turn, had his hands on Dylan’s waist tightened, anchoring himself as the kiss deepened.

Jun’s mind raced, and for a moment, he completely forgot about everything else. This was practice, right? Just practice.

Just as their kiss began to feel more natural, the door swung open with an abrupt creak.

"Hey, guys, are you—"

It was Nano. Jun and Dylan instantly broke apart, and in a panic, Dylan shoved him hard.

Jun yelped as he stumbled backward, completely losing his balance and crashing onto the floor with a loud thud. He winced out of pain.

They looked at Nano, wide-eyed, both clearly panicked. They were still breathing heavily, cheeks flushed, and before they could even think about what to say, Nano was already standing there in the doorway. His eyes darted between them, completely confused.

"Uh, did I… interrupt something?"

Jun cleared his throat, quickly trying to compose himself, rubbing his elbow.

“No, no at all, we were… practicing! Yeah, just practicing for my movie scene. No big deal. Dylan was just being harsh on me.”

Dylan, equally flustered, quickly nodded with a blank expression.

"Yeah, just practicing lines, like—” Dylan stopped, glancing at Jun. “What? I barely pushed you!"

"You almost killed me!" Jun whined, flopping dramatically on the floor.

Nano glanced between them, clearly not buying it. He tilted his head, his eyes narrowing.

“Practicing lines? You two?”

He cut their bickering short as both Jun and Dylan quickly nodded, avoiding eye contact, still awkward and feeling ridiculous.

Nano just raised an eyebrow and gave them a skeptical look.

“Well, okay. If you guys are done… I’m just gonna grab my jacket. We’re supposed to head to that restaurant soon, remember?"

"Yeah, right restaurant! I’m definitely ready; what about you?"

Dylan nodded vigorously as he looked for his jacket.

"Yup, definitely ready."

Nano gave them both one last confused look but shrugged it off and left the room, muttering something under his breath. "What the hell just happened?"

As soon as the door closed, both Jun and Dylan stood in silence for a few seconds before looking at each other. The tension was unbearable.
Dylan sighed deeply, rubbing his neck in embarrassment, then reached down and grabbed Jun’s arm, hauling him up a little too roughly.

"Ow, okay, okay, I’m up!" Jun dusted himself off, still smirking.

"You’re such an idiot." Dylan mumbled, the slightest hint of amusement in his eyes.

Jun grinned, stretching like nothing happened."You liked it, admit it."

Dylan shot him a look."Next time, I’m letting you fall harder."

Jun just winked, patting Dylan’s shoulder as he strolled past him. "I’ll take that as a yes."

Dylan groaned before following him.

As they headed out for dinner, both of them tried to act like nothing had happened. But deep down, neither of them could forget that kiss. They both knew it was going to be a night full of awkward glances and unspoken thoughts.
