Two

Summary:

It was no special day- nothing in particular was happening. Saitama was out on patrol, leaving Genos home alone with nothing but the television, the computer, and his thoughts. Instead of turning his attention to any of those things, he took a piece of paper out of one of his notebooks, got a nice felt tip pen, and began to write.

Notes:

Day Two! I love this week-long holiday. This time, I used Genos' prompt- I hope these feelings reach you. <3

Work Text:

Genos wasn't great with words. He never had been- his parents took note of that at an early age. It wasn't his fault, though, as they suspected there was something stunting his emotional development yet never got him tested. When vocalizing his feelings were hard, he wrote.

Even after being in a romantic relationship with Saitama for several months, words other than 'I love you' were often rare- even though Saitama himself, who was one of the most emotionally stunted men on earth, showed affection less.

Sure, the cyborg was prone to being clingy. He liked his cuddles and kisses and was pretty adventurous in bed. Otherwise, he had to really try to get his true feelings out... a possible undiagnosed mental handicap and four years of doing nothing but seeking revenge tended to do such a thing to someone's brain.

"Genos, I'm home!"

"Welcome home." The blond was cooking dinner when Saitama came home; he smiled as he glanced over his shoulder, watching the elder hero strip himself of his hero suit and change into a plain white t-shirt and some gray sweats.

"Thanks, babe. Dinner smells good- whacha makin'- oh?"

The bald man's attention was grabbed by a piece of paper, precariously folded on the coffee table, labeled with his name in beautiful calligraphy. Humming, he opened it up and began to read.

My Dear Saitama,

You are the absolute light of my life. Every moment of every day we spend together, you bring joy and erase fear. I love you with every single fiber of my being. Everything I do, I do bearing you in mind, because you are so important. Life would be incredibly hollow without your presence.

Before you, all I knew was revenge for four years. Hatred and dread manifested my mind like none other. But you saved me- you dragged me off that path, and you taught me to smile and laugh and love again. I owe you my life in more ways than one.

I will spend the rest of my days attempting to pay you back, no matter how hard I have to work or how long it takes- you will know the same happiness that I do when I see your smile or feel your strong arms wrap around me, enveloping me in a blanket of security and bliss. You may not think that you're much special, or that you can teach me anything- but it's quite the contrary. You are and you have- so much that it sometimes makes my head spin.

Never forget that I am always here for you, and would do anything to see you happy and successful. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I will love you until the end of time, and beyond.

I hope these feelings reach you.

Forever yours,

Genos

After he'd finished reading the letter, Saitama couldn't help but wear a stupid, goofy grin on his face. He set the paper neatly back down on the table and got up, heading to the kitchen, where his boyfriend was diligently working on dinner, pretending not to know what was going on. Inhaling the scent of chicken curry on the stove, clean laundry, and a faint hint of oil, the bald man took the cyborg by the arm and pulled him flush against himself.

"Come here, you."
